AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows, Chapter 11, Section 2 Foreign Exhibitors must submit entries with International Money Orders guaranteed in U.S. Funds. 3 ENTRY FEE WILL NOT BE REFUNDED: In the event of errors made on Entry Forms. Owners are responsible for any and all errors on Entry Forms, whoever may have made such errors In the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by veterinarian or judge or barred from competition by action of the show committee For duplicate entries or for entries in classes for which the dog is ineligible If the show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, an Act of God, public emergency, act of a public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the club or show secretary No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Entries will not be accepted without fees or signatures. Entries not on OFFICIAL AKC ENTRY FORMS (or photocopies of same which do not include the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side) are not acceptable. Changes, additions or corrections to entry forms must be received in writing, by fax, telegram or e-mail JDC_ShowSecretary@msn.com prior to close of entries. Those received verbally by telephone are not acceptable. Returned checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The returned check, plus collection fees, must be made good by cash or money order before the dog will be allowed in the ring. The club may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove any dog on account of disease, viciousness or any other cause, and no person shall have any claim or recourse against the club or any official thereof. There will be no drilling or intensive or corrective training of dogs on the show grounds or premises. NO DOUBLE HANDLING will be permitted at this show. Individuals who attempt to double handle from outside the ring will be subject to action by the Show Committee. Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. There is no provision for unentered dogs at this show. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Show Secretary will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of breed or class judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. The club reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. All trophies must be picked up at the show, none will be mailed. All awards will be made in the judging ring before the completion of judging, to the person exhibiting the dog and that person shall be considered the rightful winner of the award. The Show Secretary should be advised of any award discrepancies. EXHIBITORS SHOULD FOLLOW THEIR VETERINARIAN S RECOMMENDATIONS TO ASSURE THEIR DOGS ARE FREE OF INTERNAL & EXTERNAL PARASITES, ANY COMMUNICABLE DISEASES, AND HAVE APPROPRIATE VACCINATIONS. THE SHOW GIVING CLUB, THE SHOW SECRETARY, THEIR AGENTS, EMPLOYEES, ETC. ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY LOSS, DAMAGE, OR INJURY SUSTAINED BY EXHIBITORS, HANDLERS, THE GENERAL PUBLIC OR TO ANY OF THEIR DOGS OR PROPERTY AND FURTHER ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR INJURY TO CHILDREN WHILE AT OR ON THE SHOW GROUNDS, OR IN TRANSIT TO OR FROM THE SHOWS. VETERAN BITCHES The following classes will be provided for both dogs and bitches Veterans, 8 years & under 11 years Veterans, 11 years & over NOTE: 1 ST PLACE ONLY will be awarded in Veteran Dog & Veteran Bitch Classes NOTE: Chapter 11, Section 8, AKC Rules Applying to Dog Shows provides that castrated males may be entered in the Veteran Dog Class(s) and spayed females may be entered in the Veteran Bitch Class(s) at independent specialties only. SLED DOGS & SLED BITCHES. RULES: 1. Entry must be an AKC or CKC Registered Siberian Husky (eligible under Chapter 15, Section 1, AKC Rules Applying to Registration & Dog Shows). 2. There will be a class for dogs and a class for bitches. At the direction of the Show Chair additional classes may be offered based on the requirements of the Sled Dog Degree Program. 3. If entered in a class for which a full entry fee was paid, no additional fee will be required. If not, the entry fee for a regular class ($22.00) will be required. 4. To qualify for entry in the Sled Dog / Bitch Classes the dog must have completed one of the following three requirements: a. During the previous racing season, each entry must complete ten (10) heats with a minimum of four (4) miles per heat, or seventy miles of competition. All races must be on snow with sleds and under the direction of a Recognized Race Giving Organization with rules and recorded results. A Race Season is from April 1 to March 31. b. Entries who complete five (5) years in competition where the above rules are met shall be automatically qualified for the Sled Dog / Bitch Classes. A certificate of proof may be issued by the Chair of the Working Committee if the 5 years of proof of competition records are sent in. c.
