With reference to subject cited above, please find herewith enclosed the News Report of PGIVER, Jaipur for RAJUVAS NEWS LETTER (Jan - Mar 2016). ACTIVITIES Training for Para-Veterinary staffs of SSB at PGIVER, Jaipur A three day Training Camp for 40 Para-Veterinary staffs of Sashastra Seema Bal was organized from 11 th to 13 th January, 2016 at PGIVER, Jaipur. They were given training on various aspects of animal husbandry like restraining, vaccination, feeding, management, first aid and bandaging techniques, examination of animals, breeding techniques etc. especially of equines and canines through lectures and practical demonstrations. Dr. Y.P. Singh, Assistant Professor & In-charge, Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, Dr. Jitendra Bargujar, Assistant Professor, Department of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. S.K. Rewani, Assistant Professor & In-charge, Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension Education and Dr. Vikas Sharma, Teaching Associate, Department of Animal Genetics & Breeding contributed significantly in this training camp. Dr. S.K. Rewani coordinated the training programme.

Trainings at PGIVER, Jaipur (A) Trainings were given to 27 farmers on 20.01.16 on latest animal feed technologies like Urea Molasses Mineral Blocks, Complete feed block, pellets formation, urea treatment of straw and silage making under the RKVY Project Capacity Building for Animal Feed Technology, Quality & Productivity Enhancement. Prof. (Dr.) Vishnu Sharma, Dean & Head, Deptt. of Animal Nutrition and PI of the project coordinated the training programme. Under this project, trainings were given to 35 farmers on 04.02.16, 45 farmers on 16.03.16 and 31 LSA on 18.03.16. (B) Under the RKVY project Increased production of green fodder through Hydroponic Technology trainings to 36 farmers were given on 25.02.16 and 64 Farmers on 22.03.16. Field Day RKVY Project Area Specific Mineral Mixture Supplementation for Enhancing the Production, Reproduction and Health Status of Cattle and Buffalo of the Semi - Arid Eastern Plain of Rajasthan is under progress in two tehsils of Tonk districts i.e. Deoli and Malpura. P.I. Prof. (Dr.) Sheela Choudhary organized Field Day at two villages viz. Devdavas and Hanumanpura of Deoli tehsil on Feb. 23-24, 2016,Chandsen and Kantoli of Malpura tehsil of Tonk district on 1-2 March 2016 to create awareness among farmers about the role of mineral mixture supplementation for enhancing production, reproduction and health status of cattle and buffalo and 250 livestock farmers were benefited.

Treatment Camps by PGIVER, Jaipur (A) Department of Veterinary Medicine, PGIVER, Jaipur organized a two day free treatment camp for injured birds on 13th & 14th January, 2016 in its Mansarovar Campus. Camp was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Col. A.K. Gahlot, Hon ble Vice Chancellor, RAJUVAS, Bikaner on 13.01.2016. Prof. (Dr.) Vishnu Sharma, Dean, PGIVER, Jaipur, Dr. Umesh Agarwal, OSD to VC, Jaipur Campus, faculty members and students were present on this occasion. Dr. D.S. Meena, Associate Professor & Head, Deptt. of Vety. Medicine coordinated this camp. (B) A Free Treatment Camp was organized by PGIVER, Jaipur in its adopted village Kanarwas on 04.01.2016. Total 57 animals were treated for various diseases. Medicines and mineral mixtures were also distributed to the farmers free of cost. A gosthi was also organized on this occasion in which experts resolved their problems and acquainted them with advanced and scientific animal husbandry practices. Dr. D.S. Meena, Dr. Y.P. Singh, Dr. M.M. Mali, Dr. Vikas Galav, Dr. S.K. Rewani and Dr. J. Bargujar of PGIVER, Jaipur and Dr. Vikas Sharma of Department of Animal Husbandry, Govt. of Rajasthan contributed their services in this camp. The camp was organized under the supervision of Dr. D. S. Meena, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Veterinary Medicine. Work shop at PGIVER, Jaipur A one day workshop on Prevention & Rehabilitation of Injured Birds was organized by PGIVER, Jaipur in collaboration with two NGOs, Environment and Wildlife Care Society (EWCS) and Hope & Beyond on 12.01.2016. Mr. Joy Gardner of Hope & Beyond gave a detailed presentation on catching and handling of injured birds, carrying them to rescue centre etc. and Dr. Y.P. Singh, Assistant Professor & In-charge, Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology detailed about first aid of injured birds. All teaching and non-teaching staffs along with students participated in this workshop. Dr. Y.P. Singh was the Nodal Officer of this workshop.

Orientation Programme of students at PGIVER, Jaipur Orientation Programme of newly admitted Ph. D. and M.V.Sc. students of the session 2015-16 was organized on 23rd February, 2016. In the beginning of the programme, Dr. D.S. Meena, ADSW and Coordinator of the programme welcomed the students and briefed them about the institute. Then students presented their introduction and get acquainted with the teaching faculty. Dr. Vishnu Sharma, Dean, PGIVER briefed them about the infrastructural and functional activities of the institute. Dr. Monika Karnani, Academic Coordinator informed them about the course curriculum, attendance, time table etc. Other senior faculty members also addressed the students on this occasion. Visit of PGIVER, Jaipur by Hon ble Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Gopalan and Fishery, Government of Rajasthan Shri Kunji Lal Meena, Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Gopalan and Fishery, Government of Rajasthan visited PGIVER, Jaipur on 06.02.2016. He was accompanied by Prof. (Dr.) Col. A.K. Gahlot, Hon ble Vice-Chancellor, RAJUVAS and Dr. Umesh Agarwal, OSD to VC, Jaipur Campus. Shri Meena Visited different units of the institute and get acquainted with the available facilities. He also visited the Main Building of the institute which is under construction. At the start of the programme, Hon ble Vice-Chancellor briefed him about the different activities of the university. Shri Meena also praised the work of the university and suggested to use video conferencing for linking different units of the university, exchanging faculty and students with different institutes of the country and abroad, starting help line services to provide emergency services to the farmers and establishing animal husbandry skill development centres for rural youths. Dr. Vikas Galav coordinated this programme.

Visit of PGIVER, Jaipur by IEAC, RAJUVAS A three member team of IEAC, RAJUVAS consisting of Dr. A.P. Vyas, Dr. J.S. Bhatia and Dr. Umesh Agarwal visited PGIVER, Jaipur from 1-2 February, 2016. The team visited different units of the institute and assessed various facilities available with them. They also interacted with the teaching and non-teaching faculty, P.I. of different projects and students separately to discuss various issues. CELEBRATIONS REPUBLIC DAY Celebration at PGIVER, Jaipur On 26th January 2016, Institute celebrated 67th Republic Day in which Prof. (Dr.) Sanjita Sharma hoisted the National flag and addressed the faculty members, staff and students. Prof. (Dr.) Sanjita Sharma briefed about achievements of PGIVER in a short time. Different cultural programmes like patriotic songs, poetry etc. were presented by the students on this occassion.

Vasant Panchami Celebration at PGIVER, Jaipur On 12th February, 2016, institute celebrated Vasant Panchami which started with the lightening of lamp by Dr. Vishnu Sharma, Dean, PGIVER. Saraswati Vandana & Devotional songs were presented by the students. All teaching and non-teaching staffs and students were present on this occasion. STAFF ACCOMPLISHMENTS Prof. (Dr.) Sanjita Sharma, Head, Department of LPM, PGIVER, Jaipur was awarded National Fellow of Animal Production Management by Indian Society of Animal Production and Management during International Livestock Conference, Expo and 23rd Annual Convention of ISAPM held at Hyderabad from 28-31 January, 2016.

Prof. (Dr.) Vishnu Sharma, Dean & Head, Department of Animal Nutrition was invited and acted as Co-chair person during the session. He presented a lead paper in International Livestock Conference, Expo and 23 rd Annual Convention of ISAPM held at Hyderabad from 28-31 January, 2016. He presented a lead paper in XVI Biennial Animal Nutrition Conference on Innovative Approaches for Animal Feeding and Nutritional Research at NDRI, Karnal from 6-8 February, 2016. Prof. (Dr.) Sanjita Sharma, Head, Department of LPM attended and acted as Co-chair person during the session. She presented paper in International Livestock Conference, Expo and 23 rd Annual Convention of ISAPM held at Hyderabad from 28-31 January, 2016. Prof. (Dr.) Sanjita Sharma, Head, Department of Livestock Production Management attended and presented one lead paper in the National conference on New Horizons of Veterinary and Medical Forensic Medicine, organized by Department of Veterinary Medicine, CVAS, Bikaner from 5-6 March, 2016. Prof. (Dr.) Sheela Choudhary, Department of Animal Nutrition acted as Co-chair person during two sessions and presented paper entitled Supplementation of area specific mineral mixture improves the reproductive performance in cattle and buffalo of Jaipur district of Rajasthan in XVI Biennial Animal Nutrition Conference on Innovative Approaches for Animal feeding & Nutritional research on February 6-8, 2016 of ICAR- NDRI, Karnal. Prof. (Dr.) Sheela Choudhary, Department of Animal Nutrition presented paper and achieved third position for poster presentation entitled Heavy metal toxicity in animals in the National conference on New Horizons of Veterinary and Medical Forensic Medicine, organized by Department of Veterinary Medicine, CVAS, Bikaner from 5-6 March, 2016. Prof. (Dr.) Sheela Choudhary, Department of Animal Nutrition formulated and developed mineral mixture for cattle and buffalo by the name RAJUVAS MINSUP (Animal feed supplement) RKVY research product was released in Krishi and Pashu Vigyan Mela of RAJUVAS, Bikaner on Feb. 27, 2016. On same occasion a leaflet in Hindi namely Pashu ke badhwar, prajnan avum utpadan me RAJUVAS MINSUP ka mahtva was also released.

Mali, Assistant Professor, Department of Veterinary Medicine attended and presented papers in the National conference on New Horizons of Veterinary and Medical Forensic Medicine, organized by Department of Veterinary Medicine, CVAS, Bikaner from 5-6 March, 2016. Dr. Y.P. Singh, Assistant Professor & In-charge, Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology participated in State Level Workshop on Street Dogs Population Management organized by AWBI under Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India on 11 th February, 2016. Dr. Navav Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of LPM attended and presented two posters in 44 th Dairy Industry Conference, make in India: Dairying 2030 organized by Indian Dairy Association at NDRI, Karnal from 18-20 February, 2016. Dr. Navav Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of LPM attended National Sheep and Farmer s fair with P.G. students at CSWRI, Avikanagar, Tonk on 28 March 2016. Dr. Navav Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of LPM attended Meeting on Development of State level poultry production at Directorate, Animal husbandry Rajasthan at Jaipur on 21 Mar.2016.
