New Competition in the Conformation Ring Beginning May 12, 2010 Competition for Grand Champion Title will be introduced to the Conformation Show Ring. GMKC May 2010 Minutes of the April 13, 2010 Meeting LOCATION: Hilltop Bistro, 1602 E. Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28112 Meeting was called to order by John S. at 7pm. Bobbe J. motioned to approve minutes and Betty M. seconded. Motion passed. Pres. Report: Tommy Tucker is running for senate position in Union County. He is a dog friendly, is on the board of turning point, and is against anti-breed legislative. Secretary report: AKC sent a letter asking if we wanted to join a large group in Raleigh for responsible dog ownership day on September 25,2010. Bobbe made a motion to have the board look into forming a committee to find a date for a combined show in the spring, in addition to our fall show. Pat G. seconded. There was discussion and then a vote. Motion passed. Treasury report was read by Martha for Gene. Janet B. motioned to approve the report, Donna O. seconded. Motion passed. Committees: August agility-discussion on RV forms, form can be downloaded from website. Lourene is taking deposits for vendors. Reservations for RV s go to John. November show -Betty M. noticed the Winston Salem catalogue had advertising for motels. Discussion on approaching local motels and restaurants to advertise in the show catalogue. 17 members were present Petsafe- Dr. Thompson wanted 50 dollars for vaccinating a pet they fostered for us. Legislative-none Discussion on AKC group realignment, and requirements to have a vet present at a show. These both have gone back in to committee at AKC. AKC is now offering a grand champion title. You can also pay 50 dollars for a prefix or suffix title that previous was not recognized to be printed with the dog s name. There was a November show cluster meeting at the piedmont show. Minutes of the Board Meeting Date: January 12, 2009 Started 7:55pm Board meeting began at 8pm Present: Donna O., John S., Janet B., Martha M., Beth W. Donna O. motioned to approve minutes and Janet B. seconded, motion passed. No reports Martha wanted approval to pay Dr. Thompson for vaccinating the foster pet in the amount of 50 dollars. Janet B. seconded her motion, and motion passed. Discussion on the motion from the club to develop a committee to explore a spring date with another dog club, so we would have a spring and fall conformation show with only one day at each.
