JUNIOR HANDLING - CONFORMATION Saturday June 15 + Sunday June 16/19 Time: Lunch Break Entries: 10am 11am Entry Fee: No Charge Competition is open to all juniors between the age of 7 and 18 years. Dogs handled by the Juniors must be entered in an official class at the All-Breed Show. Dogs need not be owned by the Junior. The classes will be offered as follows: JUNIOR: Novice, Open INTERMEDIATE: Novice, Open SENIOR: Novice, Open PEE WEE (non competitive) Rosettes and prizes will be offered for all participating in Junior Handling at this show. Judges: TBA This competition is only to all Junior handlers who have qualified in the 2018 year and is by invitation only. * Please Note: Effective Jan. 1, 2016 - Section 3.4.1 All Junior Handlers with the exception of PeeWees, must apply to CKC Head Office on the appropriate form for a Junior Handling Number within 30 days of competing in their first Junior Handling event. Due to consistently fluctuating currency rates, discounted cheques will not be accepted. Personal cheques will be accepted, however, they are to be payable in Canadian funds. If you send a cheque in U.S. funds it must be made out for the full amount of the entry and no exchange will be refunded to the exhibitor. Please do not mark cheques Payable in Canadian Funds or At Par as they will not be cleared by the banks. OFFICIAL CKC ENTRY FORMS ENTRIES MUST BE TYPED OR DISTINCTLY PRINTED. Owners are responsible for errors on entries. Incomplete entry forms will be returned to the designated owner or his authorized agent. Unsigned, telephone, or telegraph entries cannot be accepted, except in the event of a postal strike when telephone entries may be made in accordance with the Canadian Kennel Club Regulations. Showing correct information on the entry forms is the responsibility of the entrants. The show committee reserves the right to refuse any entry subject to the CKC rules. Entry forms must be the same size and format as those included or they will be rejected. ENTRIES / FEES / CHEQUES / N.S.F. CHEQUES / WITHDRAWALS / CHANGES No entry will be accepted unless accompanied by all applicable entry fees. Telephone entries WILL NOT be accepted. Email or fax entries will be accepted provided that they are on a recognized CKC entry form, include credit card information and are signed by the exhibitor or agent. Overpayment of entry fees will not be refunded and will be gratefully accepted as a donation to our trophy fund. Post dated cheques WILL NOT be accepted as payment for entry fees. Tendering an NSF cheque or declined credit card as payment of entries shall be considered non-payment of entry fees and is an offense punishable by disciplinary action and cancellation of awards. A $35.00 NSF Service Charge will be levied on all NSF cheques and invalid or declined credit cards. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that the dog is absent, sick, lame, disqualified, excused by a veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee, or because it has been entered incorrectly. If because of riot, civil disturbance or other acts beyond the control of the Club, it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry will be made. Withdrawal of entries - written or electronic notification must be received by the Show Secretary no later than the closing of the show(s). If not received by this time, the dog will remain entered in the show. The entry of a dog cannot be altered or cancelled after the entries close, except as provided by the CKC Dog Show rules. After the closing of the show entries, an identification/receipt will be emailed to each exhibitor or agent.

BREEDS,CLASSES, AWARDS AND STAKES 12.2.1 Regular Official Classes: All of these classes must be divided by sex except for Specials Only. Only dogs entered in one of the regular, nonregular, or unofficial classes shall be allowed within the show precincts. JUNIOR PUPPY: for dogs at least six months of age on the first day of the Show and under nine months of age on the day of the show. SENIOR PUPPY: for dogs 9 months of age and under 12 months of age on the day of the show. 12-18 MONTH CLASS: for dogs 12-18 months on the day of the shows. CANADIAN BRED: shall be for dogs born in Canada, Champions of any country excluded. BRED BY EXHIBITOR: shall be for dogs owned and handled in the ring by the Breeder. The handler must be the owner/co-owner AND breeder/cobreeder of the dog. The owner/ breeder must handle the dog in this class, but need not handle the dog for further awards. OPEN CLASS: shall be for all dogs. SPECIALS ONLY: is for dogs which have a recorded CKC Registration or Event Registration Number and have attained the required points for Championship status including at least one 2 point win either at the breed or group level. Should a dog which is entered in this class be found either not to be registered or has not completed the requirements for Championship status, all awards earned at the show will be cancelled. Dogs entered in this class will compete for Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex and Best Puppy if eligible. EXHIBITION ONLY: for all dogs 6 months of age and eligible for registration with the CKC. EXHIBITION ONLY 3-6 MONTHS: puppies 3-6 months of age may be entered provided the Owner has also entered an eligible dog in a Regular Class. BABY PUPPY: For dogs 3 months of age but under 6 months of age. These puppies do not compete for championship points. Entry into Exhibition Only 3-6 Months is NOT required. No listing fee is payable for Baby Puppy Class. VETERAN: For any dogs 7 years of age and older. DOGS COMPETING IN THIS CLASS MAY BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED ALTERED: For any spayed or neutered dog over six (6) months of age. MOVING DOGS TO SPECIALS ONLY : A dog which is individually registered in the records of the CKC and has completed the requirements for a Championship in accordance with these rules but at the time of the closing of entries for a show has not received confirmation of the title, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to Specials Only providing the transfer is submitted to the Show Secretary in writing by the owner or agent at least 1 hour prior to the judging of the breed. NOTE: Class dogs may be moved to Specials Only as long as the registration number is on the Move Up Sheet. ORDER OF JUDGING: At Breed and Group level the judging of Baby Puppy, Veteran and Altered will be judged after Best of Breed/Best Puppy in Breed or Group / Best Puppy in Group. Before Best In Show they will be judged in the following order: Baby Puppy, Veteran, Altered. RESERVED BENCHING ONLINE ONLY 8 x 8' reserved assigned space is optional and on a first come, first served basis. Please note that only reserved benching allows the use of exercise pens. All exercise pens MUST have plastic under them. NO shavings will be permitted at this show. Reserved Benching with Power: $35.00 Reserved Benching no power: $15.00 Private Dressing Room: $150.00 (a deposit of $100.00 is required when receiving the key, which will be refunded when/if the room is left clean and upon inspection by the Show Superintendent) If you wish to be benched beside someone, please ensure that you include this information on your online entry. UNRESERVED BENCHING 8 X 8 unreserved benching spaces are also available throughout the building, at no cost, on a first come, first served basis, no power available. COMMERCIAL BOOTH SPACE Booth space is available. Entire weekend: $100.00 / booth space. Booth spaces are located on the 2nd floor near the canteen. No dogs are allowed on the 2nd floor. Posters and banners on the main floor can be posted to direct customers to the 2nd floor. All booth space must be reserved by the Closing Date. SHOW TIMES Please note: Shows #1, #3 and #5 will commence and finish in the mornings(8:00am). Shows #2, #4 and #6 will commence and finish in the afternoons. All start times will be specified in the judging schedule emailed to all exhibitors after entries close. Group judging will commence immediately following the breed judging. No two groups will be judged at the same time. Should a conflict arise between groups, the Show Secretary shall rule as to what order the Groups show. Best In Show will follow shortly after the last group has been judged in each the morning and the afternoon. CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS A dog awarded WINNERS at a Championship Show shall be credited with a number of Championship points (Ranging from 0-5) and the number of championship points to credited to a dog awarded WINNERS shall be provided hereunder. The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of the number of points awarded WINNERS shall be as follows: *Dogs Competing: 1 2 3-5 6-9 10-12 13 or more *includes the dog awarded WINNERS Points Allocated: 0 1 2 3 4 5 In counting the number of eligible dogs in competition, a dog that is disqualified, dismissed, excused or ordered from the ring by the judge shall NOT (effective 2012) be included in the calculation of points. If a dog awarded WINNERS is also awarded BEST OF BREED a the show, then all dogs competing in the breed, including Specials Only, shall be included in the total. If a dog awarded WINNERS is also awarded BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX to Best of Breed, then all dogs of the same sex including those competing for Specials Only shall be included in the total. If a dog is awarded WINNERS is also awarded Best Of Winners, then all dogs defeated directly or indirectly in the breed shall be included in the total. If a dog is awarded WINNERS only, then all the dogs of the same class competition shall be included in the total. The number of Championship points to be credited to a dog awarded WINNERS shall be determined by the highest award earned and calculated as per Section 20.2. In addition to Championship points allocated at the breed level, a dog awarded WINNERS which also places in the regular Group competition, shall be credited with the following points provided that a dog was defeated at the Group level. In no case can a dog earn more than five points at a single show. An error in the class, date of birth or sex may be amended on the entry from up to one hour BEFORE the start of the show.

GENERAL INFORMATION 1. THE BOTTOMS OF ALL EX PENS AND WIRE CRATE BOTTOMS MUST BE LINED WITH PLASTIC SUPPLIED BY THE OWNER/HANDLER. SHAVINGS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IN EXERCISE PENS. 2. Dogs will be allowed to stay in the building overnight; however, they will be left at the owner s/handler s own risk. There will be no over-night security. 3. As per CKC rules all dogs on the show premises MUST be listed in the show catalogue. Any dogs not listed will be asked to leave. If you have a dog at the show that is not entered you must obtain an IN TRANSIT ticket from the Show Secretary (no charge). Because we have limited benching space, please leave your extra dogs at home. 4. Entries will be acknowledged after entry by DogShow.ca and a judging schedule will be available after the closing date. If such acknowledgement is not received one week before the show date, please contact the Show Secretary. 5. According to the City of Balgonie bylaws, dogs are not allowed off lead within city limits. Please respect this bylaw. 6. DOGS MUST BE EXERCISED IN THE DESIGNATED AREAS ONLY. NON-COMPLIANCE WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE EXPULSION FROM THE SHOW. POOP/SCOOP RULES ARE STRONGLY IN EFFECT! 7. Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up after their own dogs, both inside and outside of the show building. The Show Superintendent reserves the right to eject from the show anyone who does not clean up after their dog. 8. There are bathing facilities available via a hose with water temperature controls. 9. We recommend booking your Hotel Reservations early. 10. The Prairie Canine Academy will use due care an diligence for the welfare of the dogs and exhibitors ut will not be responsible for or assume any liability in the event of an accident or other misfortune to either the dog, exhibitor or patron. The Prairie Canine Academy will not be liable for any loss or injury that may be sustained through the disappearance, loss, theft and/or death of dogs entered in the show under any circumstances. 11. **NOTE TIME!! The show building will be opened Thursday, at 4:00 PM (NO SOONER) to 11:00 PM for exhibitors to set up. **The Club volunteers ask that you please wait until 4 pm before coming into the building so that they all have the time to complete what they need to do. The building will be open from 6:30 AM to 10:30PM Fri & Sat; opens at 6:30 AM 12. Any show official, volunteer, employee or exhibitor shall not be subjected to any indignity by anyone at these shows. Should this occur the offender may be excused from the show/building by the Show Superintendent or his/her representative. 13. Unsportsmanlike conduct (e.g. loud, abusive, profanity ringside, etc.) will not be tolerated and could result in expulsion from the show. Please demonstrate sportsmanlike behavior while on the show grounds as a good example to other exhibitors and to spectators.
