Eligibility Only purebred Whippets may enter the regular stakes. All entries shall be individually registered with the AKC, FCI, UKC or an ASFA recognized foreign or an ASFA approved registry. A photo copy of acceptable registry must be submitted with each hound s first ASFA field trial entry. Stakes will be split into flights by public random draw if the entry in any regular stake is 20 or more. Bitches in season, lame hounds and hounds with breed disqualifications will be excused. Substitutions (same owner) are allowed if the FTS is notified 30 minutes prior to roll call. Spayed and neutered, monorchid and cryptorchid hounds without breed disqualifications may be entered. Hounds not present at roll call will be scratched. All hounds will run twice, in trios if possible or braces, (except in the Single Stake), unless excused, dismissed or disqualified. Battery powered, continuous loop equipment will be used. Lures will consist of highly visible plastic strips and/or fur. Back-up equipment will be available. A $5.00 fine will be assessed for any loose hound on the field that is not competing in the course in progress. GANG reserves the right to alter course due to field and/or weather conditions on the day of the trial.. Any person may, upon reasonable complaint, be asked to leave the grounds by the Field Committee. There will be a minimum $25 returned check charge. Course Plan Field Conditions The field is grass, which has been occasionally mowed. It is a hayfield and is not perfectly groomed, but it is level to gently sloping. Course will be reversed for finals, runoffs and Best of Breed. Course design is subject to change depending on weather and field conditions. 690 yards Trophies Special trophies will be awarded for placements in each stake and for BOB. Stakes Offered Open: Any eligible Whippet that has met certification requirements, excluding ASFA Field Champions of record. Field Champion: Any Whippet ASFA Field Champion Veteran: Any eligible Whippet that has met certification requirements whose age exceeds 7 years. Singles: Any eligible Whippet including those disqualified to run in other stakes. (Hounds run alone and are not eligible for BOB). Hounds eligible to earn TCP and CPX titles from the Singles stake.
Care of the Grounds Kindly enter the field at the designated area only. Parking areas will be clearly marked. Please clean up after your hounds. Smokers please do not leave cigarette butts on the ground. There will be a $15 fine levied on all smokers leaving cigarette butts on the grounds or people caught not cleaning up after their dogs!! Please help us to be good stewards of this property and reciprocate our hosts generosity by leaving only our footprints/pawprints and good memories. Additional Information Refunds GANG will issue a refund of entry fees for dogs that are in season or lame, if your hound comes in season or becomes lame before the trial. If you will not be attending the trial for these reasons you must notify the FTS BEOFRE Roll Call otherwise you forfeit your entry fees.
