There is no crating space. Dogs must be crated in your car until they are being tested. Restrooms are in a building adjacent to the ORT facility. Pickup after your dog is expected. There will be a separate area for reactive dog parking. Please bring your own lunch as needed. ALL DOGS MUST BE ON LEASH AT ALL TIMES. No flexi s allowed unless in the search area. Entry Requirements The handler of the dog must be a current member of the NACSW. The Dog must be registered with the NACSW and have a scorebook with his/her own registration number. NACSW membership and Dog Registration must be completed a minimum of 4 weeks prior to the event. For information on how to register or become a member go to www.nacsw.net Entry Fee and Second Dog Policy $35.00 per dog. All odors: two-dog per handler entry limit. Please fill out a separate entry form and check for each dog and odor to be tested. Closing Date Entries and payment must be received at the Secretary s address by December 30, 2013 at 7 p.m. Overnight mail entries must have the signature request waived. Refund Policy Cancellations made on or before December 30, 2013 at 7:00pm will be refunded minus a $10 administration fee. No refunds after the entry closing date. Cancellations may be made by e-mail (catchkd@netscape.net) or telephone: 908-835-2462. The secretary is not responsible for lost e-mails or calls that do not reach her. The secretary will send an e-mail back to the participant confirming the cancellation within 36 business hours. ENTRY FEES shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, or excused by the NACSW official or judge. From I-80 Directions to Test Site Stanhope, NJ 07874 Directions Mount Allamuchy Scout Reservation Stanhope, NJ 07874 Take Exit 25 (Route 206 North, Newton). Take the first ramp to the right. (Follow the Waterloo Village signs). Take the first right, just before the light, onto Continental Drive. Go to the end of Continental Drive and turn left onto Waterloo Road. The entrance to the camp is approximately one mile ahead on the right, approximately 300 hundred yards past the entrance to Waterloo Village. NOTE: If you miss the first right hand turn after exiting I-80, don't panic! Proceed on US-206 past the Black Forest Inn, to the second traffic light. Turn left at this light onto Waterloo Road, and continue to camp. From the east - NJ - 10 Follow NJ-10 West until it ends at US-46 in Ledgewood. Continue straight onto US-46 West and follow the US-46 directions below. From the east - US-46 Follow US-46 West to the intersection of NJ-10 in Ledgewood. Continue West on US-46 approximately 1-1/2 miles up the hill, and take the exit for I-80 West. Continue on I-80 to Exit 25 and follow the directions from I -80 found above. From the north - US-206 Follow US-206 south to Waterloo Road in Byram, NJ. At the intersection of Waterloo Road and US-206 there are 1) A Shell Station, 2) A Building Blocks of Learning Center, 3) A Sovereign Bank branch, 4) A PNC Bank branch, and 5) signs to Allamuchy
State Park and Waterloo Village. Turn right and follow Waterloo Road approximately 2.5 miles to the camp entrance on the right. Upon entering Mt. Allamuchy Scout Reservation Watch for the Camp Wheeler / Kent Center sign. Continue straight ahead for Camp Somers and the main parking lot. If you make a right turn at the sign, you will head towards C.O.P.E and Camp Wheeler. GPS or Google Maps If using a GPS, the address 1 Camp Allamuchy Road, Stanhope NJ 07874 (or Andover NJ 07821) will take you to the Mt. Allamuchy Scout Reservation entrance. TEST INFORMATION - NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS. THE TEST SITE will be open at 8:30 am. Details about check in time and briefing will be emailed to entrants approximately 1 week before test date. pattern of one or two rows, spaced 48 apart. The ORT is conducted on leash. Complete information can be obtained on the NACSW website. All exhibitors should obtain and review a copy of the NACSW K9 NOSE WORK RULE BOOK. You may get it from their website: www.nacsw.net Exhibitors should bring their dog s SCOREBOOK with them to the test. Results are recorded in the SCOREBOOK. NO SPECTATORS ARE PERMITTED IN THE SEARCH AREA during the ORT except NACSW officials, adults accompanying a minor, CNWI in training, or immediate family members/friends of the dog/handler team currently being tested. ENTRIES: TELEPHONE, FAX, UNSIGNED ENTRIES, AND ENTRIES RECEIVED WITHOUT FEES cannot be accepted. RETURNED CHECKS do not constitute a valid entry fee. A charge of $25.00 will be made for each returned check. ENTRIES MUST BE MADE ON THE ATTACHED ENTRY FORM. NO ENTRY SHALL BE MADE AND NO ENTRY SHALL BE ACCEPTED, WHICH SPECIFIES ANY CONDITIONS AS TO ITS ACCEPTANCE. OWNERS are responsible for errors in making out entry forms. EXPRESS MAIL entries must include signature permitting them to be left at the secretary s address without recipient s signature. DOGS PRESENT will not be permitted to roam. Exhibitors are responsible for the behavior of their dogs. The owner of each dog is solely responsible for having it ready when it is to be judged. Be prepared to keep your dog in your car when not being tested or on leash at all times. There is no inside crating at this test. FEMALES IN SEASON Contact your test host if this becomes a possibility. DOGS PARTICIPATING in a trial must be at least six months of age and must appear to be healthy on trial day and should be current on all vaccinations required by law. ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF ENTRY ACCEPTANCE/CONFIRMATION will be made when entries are processed for those handlers that provide an email address. If you require a confirmation via USPS, you must provide a self-addressed stamped envelope with your entry. BASIC DESCRIPTION OF TEST: to successfully pass an ORT a dog must identify the location of the target odor and the handler must correctly call an alert within a three-minute time period.
