Pullorum Typhoid - All birds must be Pullorum Typhoid tested. There will be a state official on site testing birds, for a nominal fee to be paid by the exhibitor, Saturday morning from 6:30 am until 8:00 am. Please bring a certificate if your bird(s) has already been tested. Out of state forms need to accompany clean birds to show! PLEASE TRY TO GET YOUR BIRDS TESTED BEFORE YOU COME!!! **ATTENTION: All Out of State Entries** Birds coming in from out of state must have NPIP paperwork or be tested at the door AND all birds must be banded. To save time during check-in please write all band numbers on a sheet of paper with your name on it, to be handed in during the check in process. Disease - The Pee Dee Poultry Club reserves the right to refuse any entry that is diseased. Sick birds will not be permitted in the showroom, nor will sick birds remain in the showroom if found to be sick. There will be a state poultry inspector present observing all birds. Competition - Open to bantam chickens and large fowl. Entry Fee - The entry fee is $3.00 per bird. There is a $1 clean up fee added to your total entry fee. Make checks or money orders payable to the Hobby Farmers Association of the Pee Dee. There is a $30.00 fee for checks with insufficient funds. Entries must be paid before judging begins. If entry is not paid before 8:45 am Saturday, your entry is subject to be disqualified. Clean-Up Fee - Each exhibitor is to pay $1.00 Clean-Up fee. Vendor Fee - Vendors that set up booths to sell merchandise will need to pay a $25 vendor fee for a 10x10 space and a $35 vendor fee for a 10x20 space (as available). Vendors need to provide their own tables and tents if needed. Checks or money orders need to be made payable to Hobby Farmers Association of the Pee Dee. Cooping - Coop tags will be used on each cage. Exhibitor numbers will be used instead of names. The showroom will be open at 6:00 am Saturday morning. Cooping in on Friday evening is available from 6-9pm, but your birds must already be NPIP tested, as there will not be a tester there on Friday night. Also, there will be no handling of birds, other than your own, unless permission is granted by the owner or authorized by a show official. All birds must be cooped by 8:45 am Saturday morning. Judging - Judging will start at 9:00am Saturday morning. The judges decisions will be final. Judging will be by the ABA and APA standard. NO ONE is allowed in the aisle during judging, with the exception of the clerk and the show officials. Judges - The club reserves the right to add, delete or substitute judges, as necessary. Cage Cups - Cups are provided by the club for watering and feeding. The use of other cups are prohibited during judging. Cooping out - Please have RESPECT for fellow exhibitors and Pee Dee Poultry Club members and do not coop out your birds until the Champion of Show is judged. Please make plans to spend the day at the show. Special consideration will be made in the case of inclement weather or emergencies beyond our control. Page 2 of 9

Sale Cages - If space permits we will have sale cages available at $3.00 a hole. These are available Saturday morning on a first come, first serve basis. Limit 2 birds to a hole. Parking -. Parking will be in designated areas (Please look for the Show Parking signs that are posted) Responsibility - The club will not be responsible for accidents, losses or damages beyond it's control. Email Entries - Your email entry must be accompanied with your Name, Mailing Address and Telephone Number. If this contact info is not included, your entry will not be accepted. A reply email will be sent when your entry is received. If you do not get this reply, we did not get your entry. Junior Show Exhibitors - The Junior show is open to all Juniors up to and including the age of 17. Contestants are required to coop and prepare their own birds for showing. Any contestant not able to coop their birds will be disqualified. Showmanship Exhibitors: There are four age groups: Pee Wee Showmanship Class (Ages 5 7) Junior Showmanship: Middle School (Third, Fourth, Fifth Grades) (Ages 8 10) Intermediate Showmanship: Junior High School (Sixth, Seventh, Eighth Grades) (Ages 11 13) Senior Showmanship: High School (Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh, & Twelfth Grades) (Ages 14 & up) Exhibitor Requirements: All exhibitors entered in the host club Junior Show Showmanship Contest are eligible to receive awards through this sanctioning. The exhibitor will show handling skills and knowledge in all areas of raising a small poultry flock according to his/her age level and their knowledge of the standard for their showmanship bird. A guideline of suggested knowledge for showmanship for each age group is available on the Youth Club website. www.apa-abayouthpoultryclub.org Showmanship Bird: Please remember, the bird itself is not being judged, the showmanship contestant is being judged on handling skills and poultry knowledge. Any bird used for showmanship should be bathed and groomed as for showing. An exhibitor showing a bird not bathed or groomed should be discouraged. Birds with lice or mites, showing signs of illness or a contagious disease will be excused from the showmanship class. A note should be made on the showmanship form as excused. As unobtrusively as possible this bird should be immediately brought to the attention of the show superintendent if a contagious disease is suspected. Although the bird is not being judged, the skills of the exhibitor for choosing and preparing his purebred exhibition bird for showmanship is being considered. Using crossbred type birds should be discouraged at sanctioned APA and ABA meets. Crossbreeds such as Sex-links used for production classes at fairs are acceptable. Page 3 of 9

APA-ABA YOUTH POULTRY CLUB SHOWMANSHIP MEET The APA-ABA Youth Poultry Club would like you to become a member. Annual dues are $8.00 per year (for ages 5-18). All members are eligible for awards at this show. Junior, Intermediate and Senior members of the Youth Club receive 10 points for first place in their showmanship class, second place receives 5 points in his showmanship class (according to age requirements). First & Second places receive a special showmanship pin. Once a total of 30 points is accumulated the member will be awarded an Advanced Showmanship Patch for the class they participate in. **See more important information on the website: www.apa-abayouthpoultryclub.org First and Second place trophies, donated by Cackle Hatchery of Lebanon, Missouri and the APA-ABA Youth Club, are awarded to all contestants participating in the Junior, Intermediate & Senior classes at this show.
