Stakes Offered COURSING ABILITY TEST (CAT) Coursing Ability Test (CAT) will be offered with a limit of 75 entries. Coursing Ability Tests are open to all dogs at least 6 months of age that are individually registered with the AKC, recorded in the Foundation Stock Service (FSS) program, individually registered with a foreign or domestic registry organization whose pedigrees are acceptable for AKC registration, dogs granted a Purebred Alternative Listing (PAL) number, dogs with AKC Limited or Conditional Registration, or dogs enrolled in the AKC Canine Partners program. Dogs with breed disqualifications are eligible to enter. Females in season may not enter. A dog may enter only once per event. (An event is defined by an event number.) Dogs will be inspected prior to any wrapping being applied to the dog. In the opinion of the inspection committee, any entry found to be lame, unfit to compete or a female in season shall not be allowed to enter and entry fees shall be refunded. The Coursing Ability Test is a pass fail event. In order to pass, the dog must complete the course with enthusiasm and without interruption within the maximum amount of time for the course length. The judge keeps the official time and decides the merits of the dog s performance Lure Equipment Gasoline or electric powered continuous loop lure machine will be used; backup equipment will be available. Lure will consist of white plastic strips. The course will be reversed for final courses. BRING WATER AND SHADE FOR YOUR DOGS. Due to venue rules, SMOKING IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED except in your own vehicle. Persons exhibiting unsportsmanlike conduct detrimental to AKC, this club, any hound, or other person will be asked to leave the trial site. No alcoholic beverages are permitted on the site. There will be a $5.00 fine assessed on the owner/agent of any loose hound not running in a course in progress. Operation of remotely piloted vehicles (drones) is prohibited at this event.
