Show Rules: In addition to Standard APA and ABA Rules 1. We cannot accept entries from states under quarantine. Entries are limited to, bantam and large fowl chickens, waterfowl, turkeys and guineas. 2. All entries must be certified Pullorum Typhoid free you must submit a copy of your NPIP papers with your entry. Testing will not be available at the show. 3. All birds must wear numbered leg bands. 4. Birds showing signs of illness/infestation will be removed from the show room. 5. Heart of America Bantam Club will not be responsible for loss due to any causes. All precautions will be taken by the HOABC to protect your exhibits. 6. Exhibitors will need to care for their own individual entries; feed and water will be provided. 7. Show officials and owners are the only people allowed to handle birds and/or remove eggs from exhibits. 8. Birds entered as cockerels and pullets must be under 1 year of age. Birds older than 1 year of age must be entered as cocks and hens. 9. Communication with the judges by exhibitors is strictly prohibited while they are evaluating classes. 10. HOABC makes every effort to hire honest, competent judges. In the unlikely event that a disqualification is overlooked in a placed bird, the judge will be asked to correct his/her oversight if called to attention of the show committee within 30 minutes of being placed. 11. Removal of birds without permission before the official release will result in the forfeiture of all awards. Birds may be released early only with the permission of the Show Superintendent.
12. All birds must be removed at the conclusion of the show on April 14. 13. Entries must be postmarked by April 2. 14. Junior Show Format and Awards: The Junior show is extremely important to members of the HOABC we are glad that you choose to exhibit your birds! We hope that you are starting a foundation for many more years of exhibiting high quality birds. Due to this commitment by members we offer several awards and experiences to make your day the best that it can be. Please make sure that you thank members of the HOABC for their contributions and commitments to your show. Guidelines for Junior exhibitors: 1. Junior Exhibitors MUST be present at the show. 2. Junior exhibitors must be able to care for their own birds. 3. Junior exhibitors must be between 5-18 years of age. 4. Showmanship is divided as follows: a. Pre-Junior- Ages 5-7 (day of show) b. Junior Ages 8-10 (day of show) c. Intermediate 11-13 (day of show) d. Senior 14+ (day of show) 5. Entries must be designated as JUNIOR. 6. All Rules and regulations of the APA, ABA and HOABC apply to junior exhibits as well. 7. Junior exhibits will be released at the conclusion of the Open show. Sale Cages Sales cages are available in a designated location within the show room (subject to space available). Cages are $8.00 per cage and must have an official sale cage tag from the office. Please see the office for the tags. You must pay and reserve show cages prior to the entry deadline. Entries limited to 100 total and may be large chickens, bantams, ducks, geese and guineas. Birds entered on Saturday may be entered on Sunday or the entries may be different birds. Exhibitors showing on both days may keep birds from the Saturday show in the exhibit hall on Sunday. NOT APA or ABA SANCTIONED. 2. Entry Fee $25 3.
