Personal Narrative 13 April 2014 STAAR 4 th Grade Choosing an ice cream flavor without being able to see the menu Myself I went to a supercool new ice cream shop. I walked in and thought it was awesome. Then I saw the long line. When it was finally my turn, a big guy blocked my view of the flavors. Somehow I managed to choose a flavor. Everyday I beg to go back to that wonderful place. My mouth waters like crazy when I think of that ice cream. I HAVE to go back!!!

Personal Narrative 14 April 2014 STAAR 4 th Grade Choosing baseball teams Myself and baseball teams The only problem is that when a season ends you have to say adios to your old team and hello to a new one. The part that s tricky is finding a new team. The Heat baseball team invited me to try out for them. I wasn t sure about being good enough to be in a Big League team. Diving with my dad to the try out. He said not to worry. We arrived, and we played ball. After practice I was amazed at how good the team was, but I didn t think I had made it. Then I heard a voice behind me. It said, Congratulations Derek. Welcome to the team.

Personal Narrative 15 April 2014 STAAR 4 th Grade Pulling my tooth out Don and I Ow! I yelled as I tried to pull my tooth out. Why can t I do it? I m such a wimp, I cried. I ran to the mirror. I pulled and pulled. It just hung there. My mom s friend, Don, offered to pull it out. He reached in. Wait, wait! I cried. In or out? he asked. Pop! My pain was gone. (So was some blood.) I will never forget the time I lost my tooth. I can still feel my hand pulling on it. From that day on, I will make more wise choices.

Personal Narrative 16 April 2014 STAAR 4 th Grade Keeping a cat or a dog that followed me home Mom and I I was walking home from school when I heard a noise. Puuuurrr! What was that? Startled, I turned around and saw a kitten! After I called the kitty, it came to me. On the way home, I heard a growl behind me. When I got home, I saw that a Labrador puppy had followed me home too. Mom said I could only keep one. I made the choice to keep the cat and gave the puppy away. I named the kitten Pumpkin and discovered she was female. She would have kittens. I decided that this was a very perr-fect day!
