Hot Pets A hot car can be very dangerous to your pet. While cracked windows and water may mitigate the risk, it does not eliminate the health risk to your pet. The inside of a vehicle can rise very quickly in a very short period. Because your pet cannot sweat effectively, it cannot cope with the heat like a human. Peterborough Humane Society in conjunction with an Agent with OSPCA and Animal Control will respond to concerns that the public may have if there are animals at risk in a vehicle. When I brought her home I did a 5 minute introduction with her to my other cat Aerrow, what we did is put the carrier on the couch left her in it and watched Aerrow get up on the coach go up to it, he looked at her then leaned against the carrier and just lied there. Aerrow had a nap, he loved her but we were going to do a face to face introduction later in the week because we wanted to let her explore the upstairs first before we let her meet him out of her carrier. She is very loving and cuddly, she loves everyone. Misty is very funny today which is the second day we have had her and she has come out of her shell so much. Today Misty is 2 months and 5 days old. Aerrow is 5 months and 25 days old soon to be 6 months August 4. Misty is a great addition to our family. We would like to thank the Peterborough Humane Society for bringing her into their care and helping her find a loving home and I promise you here with me and Aerrow and Nana she has a very loving home.
