GENERAL ENTRY INFORMATION 1. Live animal exhibition is open to 4-H and FFA members 3 rd through 13 th grades. Enrollment in a rabbit, poultry, cat, or small pet project is not required. State 4-H regulations prohibit youth younger than third grade from exhibiting a live animal. 2. All entries must be received on an official entry form either mailed or electronically submitted to the Monroe County UWEX Office. 3. Live animal must be present to show. 4. There is a special mounted picture class for Kindergarten through 2 nd graders. Those entered in this class will speak to the judge about the pet shown in the picture and how they care for it. A maximum of one cat picture, one rabbit picture, one poultry picture and one small pet picture can be entered. Pictures may be any size. Collage using pictures of the same pet can be entered in place of single picture. All participants will receive a participation trophy for the first picture plus a ribbon for each additional entry. 5. Ribbons will be awarded to all participants. Cat, small pet, pet poultry, and pet rabbit placing will be based on face-to-face judging. Rabbit and poultry breed classes will be judged according the Standard of Perfection. Champions will receive a trophy. 6. All entries are due March 30, 2019 to Monroe County 4-H Fur, Fin, and Feather Show, co Monroe County University Extension, 14345 County Highway, Room 1, Sparta, WI 54656. No refunds of entry fees. See entry form for information on entries made day of show. 7. Monroe County 4-H Fur, Fin, and Feather Show will not be responsible for any loss due to fire, theft, or accident. Every precaution will be taken to prevent such occurrences. 8. Parents are asked to control their children and help them as needed. Please come prepared to keep younger children busy as judging is taking place. 2
9. There will be no commercial vendors of supplies, feed, animals or equipment allowed at Fur, Fin & Feather. RAIT SHOW 1. All rabbits will be examined in their cages upon registration. Any rabbit exhibiting signs of mites, lice, fleas, ringworm or any other parasite will be sent home. All rabbits must be free from scabs in the ears, runny nose, or contagious disease. To avoid disappointment, please check your animal carefully before coming to the show. 2. No nursing does are to be shown. 3. Cages will not be available. Your own cages must have a bottom to be used. Rabbits are to be kept in their own cages. Please bring a floor covering to place cages on to protect the floor from scratches. 4. Exhibitors are responsible for bringing their own rabbit food and for cleaning up after their own rabbits. 5. Rabbits need to be tattooed or identified with a permanent marker in their left ear. Please fill out identifier in the Ear Tattoo Column 6. Pet Rabbit Class: Enter this if you are showing the only rabbit you own; or it your rabbit is spayed or neutered; or it is mixed breeds. You may not enter any other rabbits in any other classes. Winners will not be considered for EST IN SHOW. 7. Indicate breed of rabbit in reed column. est of reed selections are considered for EST IN SHOW. 8. Circle appropriate ages of rabbits to be shown: Juniors under 6 months. Intermediate 6-8 months (6 class breeds only). Seniors over 6 months. 9. Meat classes: Single Fryer-not over 69 days old or over 5 pounds. Roaster rabbit-between 70 and 180 days of age and over 5 pounds 3
CAT SHOW 1. All cats will be examined upon registration. Any cat exhibiting signs of mites, fleas, lice, ringworm or any other parasite will be sent home. All cats must be free from scabs in their ears, runny eyes and nose, or contagious disease. To avoid disappointment, please check your animal carefully before coming to show. 2. All cats and kittens must be vaccinated for rabies and distemper. A copy of vaccination certificate must be sent with entry. If you have vaccinated for distemper yourself, a signed receipt will serve as proof of vaccination. The law requires a veterinarian administer the rabies vaccine. Walk-ins must provide proof of shots day of show. 3. Claws on all four paws must be clipped. 4. No pregnant or nursing cats are to be shown. 5. Cats and kittens are to be kept on leash while being shown. 6. You must provide your own cage. Cages must have a bottom to be used. Please bring a floor covering to place cages on to protect the floor from scratches. 7. Cats and kittens are to be kept in their own cages except when being shown. 8. Exhibitors are responsible for bringing their own cat food, litter, litter pan and for cleaning up after their own cats. 9. Kittens are from 18 weeks to 11 months of age. Cats are 12 months and over. 10. Cats and kittens receiving a blue ribbon will be considered for EST IN SHOW. 4
SMALL PET SHOW 1. Entry is open to caged birds, hamsters, gerbils, mice, rats, reptiles, fish, and other small pets raised in their own environment indoors. Pets must be able to be carried in to show in this environment or in a suitable environment used for the show. 2. Small pets are to be brought in their own cages or aquariums. Exhibitors will be responsible for cleaning up after their own animals. 3. ogs, cats, rabbits, pigs, ducks and poultry are not eligible for small pet show. See cat, rabbit, and poultry show guidelines. 4. All animals are to be free from parasites and disease. 5. Exhibitors and live animals must be present for face-to-face judging. An effort will be made to accommodate exhibitors who are also showing other species. POULTRY SHOW 1. All poultry MUST E over 4 months of age 2. ocumentation of a negative test for pullorum-typhoid conducted within 90 days of arrival at the show or have proof of Wisconsin Tested Flock or Affiliate Flock status 3. All birds must be free from contagious diseases and parasites or they will be removed from the show. 4. Turkeys must be tested as per State of Wisconsin rules and regulations. 5. Coops will not be available. Your own cages must have a bottom to be used. Please bring a floor covering to place cages on to protect the floor from scratches. 6. Exhibitors are responsible to bring their own poultry food and for cleaning up after their own poultry. 7. Exhibitors will bring their entries to judging table for judging. 5
