All mixed breeds and unrecognized breeds must have a (CCN) Canine Companion Number registered with the Canadian Kennel Club. Draft Dog Excellent and Brace Draft Dog entries must have previously earned a D.D. title in order to enter the D.D.X. or B.D.D. trials. Requalifications will be accepted only after all untitled entries are included. Requalifications shall be judged as the last team in the section for which they are entered. Judges may excuse a dog at any time during a test for lack of physical capacity. Bitches in Season will be able to compete, please notify test secretary on day of event. The bitch must be kept away from the test area and will compete after all other dogs have finished. *ENTRY LIMIT:* There will be an entry limit of 10 Draft Dog/Brace Draft Dog, 5 Draft Dog Excellent/Brace Draft Dog Excellent competitors with entries accepted on a first come, first serve basis. If the DDX and BDDX entries do not fill they will be replaced with two DD. Draft Dog Excellent competitors must supply their own backpack loads and should wear appropriate footwear as they may have to go through water. GROUP EXERCISES: Draft Dog and Brace Draft Dog Field Work, Draft Dog Excellent Freight Haul and /or the Draft Dog Excellent Backpacking Exercises may be performed using the Group option as stated in Section 11.2 of the CKC Draft Dog Rules and Regulations, using the recommended methodology as stated in Appendix A. CLOSING DATE: Sept 9, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. (Pacific Daylight Time), or when the limit has been reached even if the official closing date for entries has not arrived. Entry fees will not be refunded after the closing date. If the limit is reached prior to the closing date, a list of alternates will be kept to fill any vacancies created due to cancellations before the closing date. DAY OF TEST ENTRIES will be accepted for this test if limits have not been reached and/or alternates have been accommodated. ENTRY FEE: $75.00 (Canadian) per dog or in the case of a brace, per brace entry (payable to the Newfoundland Dog Club of Canada) which includes CKC recording fees, Mail entries or deliver entries to the Draft Test Secretary. PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT WRITE Canadian Funds on US cheques as they are not accepted by Canadian banks. Entry fees must be paid in Canadian funds.
NEW TRACKING FEE FOR CANADIAN NON-MEMBERS: Effective January 1, 2011, the CKC instituted a tracking fee for all Canadian residents who participate in CKC events, but are not CKC members. In order to cover the clerical cost of recording and tracking points and awards earned at CKC events, a participating nonmember can choose to purchase a CKC membership or pay a dog specific tracking fee of $59.40 plus applicable taxes. This only applies to dogs wholly owned by nonmembers and is not applicable to CKC members or dogs co-owned with a CKC member. In order for the CKC to efficiently manage recording and tracking points, it is important that non-members select one of the two options within 30 days of notification, or unfortunately, the points, awards and titles will be cancelled. ENTRIES: Entries must be complete, signed and submitted on the official CKC entry form. EQUIPMENT: Each entrant is to supply their own equipment. The freight load will be supplied by the test committee. Draft Dog Excellent participants must provide their own back pack loads and should wear appropriate foot wear to cross water etc. FOREIGN BORN/OWNED DOGS: If a dog is NOT registered individually with the CKC, it may be entered at a test held under these regulations, as a Listed dog. In order to enter Canada, a dog must have a Rabies certificate. The certificate must be dated at least 30 days prior to re-entry into the U.S. EVENT REGISTRATION NUMBER: Every foreign born and owned dog that does not have a CKC number that is entered in a Canadian Kennel Club event must obtain an event registration number (ERN) within 30 days of that event. An Event Registration Number Application must be completed and submitted along with a copy of registration documents from a CKC recognized foreign kennel club and the required fee. The Draft Test Committee and BC Parks Staff will exercise due care and diligence for the welfare of all the dogs entered but will not be responsible for, nor assume any liability in the event of an accident or other misfortune to any dog, exhibitor, either to themselves or their property. Complete information regarding this test will be sent out with the entry acknowledgments. If you require specific information please contact the Test Secretary. REFRESHMENTS: Morning Condiments with Coffee/Tea will be available. A lunch will be provided for all entrants, stewards, judges. If you require an additional lunch please advise on your entry form. AWARDS & PRIZES: All participating entrants will receive a ring favour and each dog earning a qualifying score will receive a rosette. This is a 3 judge test. Those dogs with qualifying scores from all 3 judges will receive the appropriate Draft Dog, Brace Draft Dog, Draft Dog Excellent or Brace Draft Dog Excellent Title. IT SHALL BE THE DUTY AND OBLIGATION of the test-giving club to see that a judge, club official, steward, volunteer or competitor at a Draft Dog test is not subject to indignities. The Draft Test Committee Chair shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation and the Discipline Committee shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred.
