Ideally, IV fluids should be administered as close to body temperature as possible to all patients for better therapeutic results. The JorVet IV fluid warmer is placed over a short 8 segment of a standard IV line, where it will safely warm passing fluids to 100 F. It should be placed within 18 of the patient. Veterinary patients, either small in size or in possible hypovolemic shock, benefit greatly from receiving warm IV fluids (~100 F) versus room temperature (70 F) fluids. However, maintaining a ready supply of warmed fluids has been difficult. The JorVet Bullpen is an IV fluid warming station that maintains unopened IV fluid bags at a ready to use temperature of 100 F. Clinic Highlight Cincinnati Animal Medical Center Dr. Jeff Werwa of the Cincinnati Animal Medical Center knew at age 7 he had a passion for animals and wanted to be a veterinarian. After growing up on Long Island, NY, he attended veterinary school at the University of the Phillipines. After graduation in 1988, he started practicing in Cincinnati, OH.
