Dear Parent, Thank you for downloading this brochure about our 2013 Animal Training Adventure summer camp. Our new summer program offers kids and teens the opportunity to learn basic animal obedience training and more advanced animal training through hands-on activities with rescued dogs and puppies. Every camper will work both independently and in small groups with puppies ranging from 12-weeks-old to 16- weeks-old each day of the session. We use lessons and activities on dog behavior designed by Yale University s School of the 21st Century and developed with renowned dog behavior expert Cesar Millan, from NatGeo WILD s Dog Whisperer series. Each session is one week long; and we have seven different weeks from which to choose, beginning June 17. Although every session will cover the basics of dog training, the activities, invited guests, and group interactions will vary each week. DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE Please review the available discounts on camp registration fees described below. Only one discount can be applied to each camp registration. Multi-family, Multi-session We offer multi-family and multi-session discounts. If registering two or more family members, the first registration is full price, and each additional registration is $25 off. If you are registering for two or more sessions, the first session is full price, and each additional session is $25 off. These discounts are available through manual registration and online registration. Refer-A-Friend Our Refer-A-Friend program provides additional discounts. Once your child is registered, you will receive an additional $10 off for every friend you refer who also registers. When completing the application form, your friend should write your name in the Referred by line item found at the bottom of page 1. This discount is only available through manual registration. CCS Affiliation We are excited to be using the campus and classroom facilities of Community Christian School (CCS) for our camp location. As a special service to CCS faculty, students, and their families, we are offering $25 off each registration fee. This discount is only available through manual registration. 1469 MARKET STREET, TALLAHASSEE, FL 32312 p: 850-906-9990 f: 850-906-9991 RESCUEMEFOUNDATION.US

Rescue Group Affiliation Our camp is a community supporter of local and area rescue organizations, and part of our proceeds will be donated to these organizations to help continue the good work they do. If you are a current foster volunteer for one of the accredited non-profit animal rescue organizations in and around the Tallahassee area, you will receive $25 off each registration fee. This discount is only available through manual registration. Active Military Our camp supports and thanks the men and women of our military forces for their strong leadership, courage, and willingness to serve others. These are qualities we hope to teach and inspire in our camp participants. If you are a person currently serving in any branch of the United States Armed Forces, you will receive $25 off each registration fee. This discount is only available through manual registration. We have a fun-filled summer ahead! We look forward to growing the next generation of happy pets and responsible owners. Thank you for participating in Animal Training Adventure summer camp and supporting rescued animals and local animal rescue organizations. 2013 Summer Camp Animal Training Adventure summer camp offers kids and teens the opportunity to learn basic animal obedience training and more advanced animal training through hands-on activities using rescued dogs and puppies. Animal Training Adventure incorporates lessons and activities on dog behavior designed by Yale University s School of the 21st Century and developed with renowned dog behavior expert Cesar Millan, from NatGeo WILD s Dog Whisperer series. Using these lessons and activities, campers will learn critical skills that will help them in their interactions with people (and animals) in school, at home, and later on in the workplace. This camp experience will support the development of calm, confident, and caring children and teens that can make a difference in the lives of people, animals, and the environment. In addition, campers will also learn how to manage their emotions, get along with others, acquire empathy and compassion, and discover essential decisionmaking and teamwork skills. This camp uses rescued puppies and dogs to provide a live, interactive experience with all sizes and breeds of canine companions. Animals participating in our camp are rigorously tested for temperament and safety when working in a group setting by a professional dog handler prior to being selected. For this reason, campers may not bring their personal dog to camp. Only selected dogs and puppies may appear at camp, and all other dogs and puppies are prohibited. Basic Dog Training 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Grades: 3 rd -5 th and 6 th -8 th Fee: $175 per week Campers will have the opportunity to learn and practice the basics of dog training. This session will allow your child to master techniques for crate training, house training, and basic command training (e.g. sit, stay, leave it, and come ). Campers will have hands on experience with training, socializing, and grooming puppies provided by area rescue organizations to prepare these puppies for adoption. In addition, campers will learn to recognize and use Cesar Millan s nine core principles for creating a balanced dog. The session will also include animalthemed arts, crafts, and games. Session fee includes a t-shirt, goodie bag, drinks, and all activities and materials. You will need to pack your camper s lunch daily. Advanced Dog Training 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Grades: 5 th -8 th Fee: $200 per week (Campers enrolling in this session must demonstrate a working knowledge of basic dog training skills.) Campers will have the opportunity to learn and practice advanced obedience training like that used to train working dogs, show dogs, and performing dogs. Campers will have hands on experience using rescue puppies and adult dogs making guest appearances. In addition, campers will have discussions with guest speakers who train dogs for a variety of purposes, like helping children learn to read, helping the visually impaired, and show performance. In addition, campers will learn from a series of lessons developed by Cesar Millan called Dog Dialog. Dog Dialog presents a unique opportunity to teach young people effective ways to interact with dogs and how dogs behave in nature in order to better understand canine characteristics and behaviors. This special series includes subjects such as instincts and dog behavior, feelings, and staying calm and assertive. The session will also include animal-themed arts, crafts,
