Sandra has been raising and training Golden Retrievers with her husband, Steve, under the Goldencol prefix, for over 30 years. They have been active in field work, obedience and agility trialing with their dogs. However, agility has taken most of her interest for the past eighteen years. She enjoys the opportunity to see the skill and teamwork develop as she works with her dogs and with the people who train with her. Many of the Goldens that they have bred have also been performing well. This gives her a feeling of pride and satisfaction. Sandra started judging agility in 2002 and has judged both CKC and AAC trials across Canada. She enjoys the challenge of judging and is grateful for the opportunity to see dogs compete on the courses that she has designed. Sandra has been instrumental in the development and promotion of the CKC agility program and has been a CKC agility rep on the Agility Council. Sandra s wish for this trial is for all the dogs and handlers to have fun and enjoy the runs. 10

Agility Judge Biographies (cont.), Assignments and Class Running Order Oksana Syrkin AKC Judge My family got our first dog, a Newfoundland, when I was in 8th grade. Over the years, our family dogs grew to include a Cocker Spaniel, a Miniature Poodle and a Dalmatian. As an adult, my breed of choice and first competition companion was a Rhodesian Ridgeback. Together we competed in Agility, Lure Coursing, and the racing venues NOTRA and LGRA. Since then, I added Pembroke Corgi, my current Pembroke Corgi and agility partner, Merit, and my agility partner in training Australian Shepherd puppy, Archie. Archie's and mine love of the water has also introduced us to dock diving. A couple of years ago, I decided to give back to the sport and became an AKC Agility judge. I typically judge two AKC events per month. I love the opportunity to travel and see so many talented teams and different handling styles. In addition to AKC, the growing interest in UKI prompted me to pursue and obtain my UKI judges license. In 2016 I was honored with the opportunity to judge the US Open. I continue to learn through AKC' s Judges Education program every three years. I attended and utterly enjoyed Greg Derrett and Lee Gibson's seminar with focus on Global Judging. Always so much to learn! Today, I actively compete in multiple venues including AKC, USDAA, UKI, CPE, NADAC and ASCA. Each has its own unique flavor and I love them all! Brian Wickenheiser Special Classes Judge I first became involved in dog sports in 2007 when we entered my daughter Jennifer (who was 12 at the time) in an agility class with her young Yorkie-Chihuahua mix, Jazmine. One day, after attempting to provide Jennifer with some advice following class, she suggested that if I thought I could do better I should get my own dog and do agility. So I took her suggestion and got my first sport dog, Eclipse, an Australian Shepherd. I have been training and competing with Eclipse in agility, dock diving and disc since 2010. In agility we have competed with AAC, UKI and CKC, including multiple Regional and National Championship and have been fortunate enough to have a number of podium placements. I now also have a young Border Collie, Galaxy, who is currently training for agility and also competes in dock diving. Following a cruciate injury in late 2017, Eclipse was forced to take some time off from agility at which point I turned my attention to judging. I have now been judging agility since early 2018 and believe that my experience as a competitor and student of agility, has served me well. My goal as a judge is to design fast, flowing courses that are challenging yet at the same time provide safe lines for the dogs. I am honoured to have been invited to judge this prestigious event and look forward to having the best seat in the house, watching some of the top dogs in Canada compete this weekend. Good luck to everyone and don t forget to enjoy the moment and have fun with your dog! 11

Diane Hiseler-Leighton CKC Obedience Judge My first purebred dog was a Miniature Poodle. He was soon followed by another and then I became a member of the Canadian Kennel Club. I bred Miniature Poodles but I always wanted a big dog. In 1981, an Old English Sheepdog arrived and I began obedience classes, showing and training in obedience in 1984. It was love at first sight when a Standard Poodle was added to the mix, who became my soulmate dog and an obedience trial champion. My passion for Poodles and Obedience evolved and in 1998 I began judging Obedience Trials followed by Rally Obedience. I believe every dog deserves respectful treatment and a lifetime commitment plus an education. I currently am owned by five Standard Poodles so my education will continue into the foreseeable future. 20

Rally Obedience Judge Biographies Diana Kirkaldy CKC Rally Obedience Judge My name is Diana Kirkaldy and I am honoured to be judging Rally this year at the Summer Spectacular. I have been involved in the world of purebred dogs since 1989 when I obtained my first dog, a Belgian Tervuren. I purchased my first Australian Shepherd in 1992 and have been breeding Aussies under the Riomesa prefix since 1998. My breeding program has produced 16 champions as well as many obedience, rally and agility titled dogs. My obedience career began with Barb Scott in 1989 and I joined the Oshawa Obedience Association in the early 1990 s. I have held the position of Secretary, Vice-President, Trial Secretary and President my current position of over 15 years. When rally was introduced by CKC, I applied and was granted my license to judge. I enjoy participating in rally trials I have put numerous rally titles many of my Aussies, past and present. My current obedience dog Bower, U-CD, URO2 CH Riomesa Pay It Forward Can/Am CDX, RAE2, Am RN, CGN was the #1 Aussie, #7 Herding dog, #13 All Breed rally dog in 2017, an accomplishment I am very proud of as both a competitor and a breeder. 25
