AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM OUR CEO Dear Friends, For the past 21 years, I have had the privilege to be a part of HSBV and see firsthand the impact our mission creates on pets and people. HSBV has been a central part of my life, and the work we all do together has inspired me every day. Because of the incredible connection we share, it is difficult to share my decision to leave HSBV in May to start a coaching and consulting business. You, our family of supporters, have been a huge part of my joy at HSBV, seeing your compassion for the animals and families we serve and how your inspiring commitment to those in need is life-changing and lifesaving for thousands in our community and beyond. Thank you for the incredible honor of serving our community. Together, we have accomplished so much, for so many, and HSBV will continue to do so for many years, because of your support. I would be so honored if you would join me for my final Puttin' On The Leash as HSBV's CEO. It has been my favorite night with each passing year, and I'd love to see you in person before I depart. Inspired by the fashion-forward style of The Met Gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, HSBV s The Pet Gala will be a night you won t forget! On April 13, you will be transported to a night of celebrity, new-age fashion designs, and refined dining and libations all while raising funds to help animals and people, ensuring happy and healthy relationships thrive in our community and beyond. When you purchase your ticket to Puttin On The Leash: The Pet Gala, you will be joining more than 1,000 animal loving community members in supporting pets and their families. You ll enjoy delicious local food from the best restaurants in and around Boulder, thirst-quenching beverages courtesy of Superior Liquor and their partners, and exciting live and silent auctions. Every ticket you purchase, donation you make, and item you bid on, ensures every pet and person who comes to HSBV for help receives the care, comfort, and kindness they deserve. Boulder Valley s premier gala, Puttin On The Leash: The Pet Gala will be a life-changing evening purchase tickets today! I can't wait to see you there to offer my heartfelt appreciation for each and every one of you who has enriched HSBV, and my life, beyond measure. With gratitude, A Note From The Board Of Directors Lisa Pedersen, CEO Dear HSBV Supporters, The Humane Society of Boulder Valley has been fortunate to have Lisa Pedersen as our CEO for the last 12 years. Her commitment to the animals and to our community has been monumental, and she will be deeply missed. We are grateful for her outstanding leadership within HSBV and beyond. As a result of Lisa's direction, HSBV has continued to advance in the medical and behavioral treatment of the many animals who come through our doors, and her commitment to forming relationships throughout the animal welfare community will benefit HSBV for years to come. The Board of Directors, through collaboration with Lisa and the HSBV leadership team, is currently undergoing a search to find a new CEO who will continue to lead HSBV in fulfilling our mission and meeting the needs of our community. During Lisa's tenure as CEO, she has built an amazing leadership team who manage each facet of HSBV with professionalism and under the mission to which we are all so dedicated. Moving forward we have absolute confidence that HSBV will continue to enrich the lives of animals and members of our community as it has for the last century. The legacy of Lisa's impact on HSBV will be long-lasting. On behalf of our fellow board members, we would like to thank Lisa, our incredible staff, our amazing volunteers, and our generous donors for your continued love and support of HSBV! Bing Chou & Michaela Phillips Co-Chairs, HSBV Board of Directors If you have any questions please feel free to contact Michaela Phillips, who is a current cochair of the Board of Directors at HSBV. Michaela can be reached at michaela@michaelaphillips.com or 303-579-5517.

Celebrating Lives Saved with Bonusly When Ike and his siblings arrived in Boulder, they were bright eyed and ready for their next adventure. Within a few days of their arrival, the small cattle dog puppies started showing signs that they weren t feeling well. Our shelter and medical teams quickly identified the puppies had been harboring the deadly Parvovirus, and the stress of the changes in their young lives caused them to grow ill very rapidly. Our team worked around the clock to ensure they each received individualized lifesaving care so they could thrive and live long happy lives with loving families. Spirited little fighters, the entire litter of puppies battled to overcome Parvo, and found their loving homes within days of their full recovery. Bonusly, the official employee recognition partner of HSBV, helped us celebrate the amazing work and dedication of the staff who worked tirelessly to provide critical, intensive care to ensure Ike and his siblings recovered and found loving homes. Staff cheered each other on as they shared stories on our Bonusly newsfeed of their colleagues going above and beyond to help each other, the puppies, and their families thrive again. Thank you, Bonusly, for helping us celebrate these lifesaving stories across HSBV! IKE VISIT OUR Redesigned website BOULDERHUMANE.ORG Our new mobile-friendly website makes it even easier to view animals available for adoption, read about upcoming HSBV events, explore volunteer opportunities, and support the pets of HSBV. Thanks to Nuf Said and Rule4 for making the new boulderhumane.org a reality! ASPEN Love Letters REGGIE I adopted Reggie from the shelter a few months back and he's the best dog ever! So much love from this little guy. Best decision I have ever made. - Nary O. MAE WEST I adopted this sweet little pup from the Humane society of Boulder Valley. Mae West is a 5 year-old Boxer mix whose favorite activities include showing off her toys, hanging out wherever you are (including the middle of the kitchen floor), and lots of cuddling. She is sweet as could be, smart, and silly. She is perfect for me and I can tell we're going to get along just fine! - Natalie V. MAE WEST REGGIE

Each image brings an immediate smile to my face, and a desire to share my heart swell with everyone I know, which is so easy to do with social media!
