He has bred, owned and exhibited Afghan Hound, Std Long Dachshund, Poodle (Toy), Min Schnauzer, Airedale Terrier, Cocker Spaniel under the kennel name Jagar. He has been judging since 1984. In addition to Canada, he has judged in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatamala, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Russia, South Africa, USA, Thailand and Venezuela. He judged at the World Dog Show in Argentina in 2005

Mario Knoll and Ana Knoll Ana became interested in dogs in 1980 when she owned an English Cocker. She visited her first show in August 1980 and in October the same year she was showing her first dog in the ring, an Afghan Hound belonging to a friend. Her husband, Mario began his Lhasa breeding about the same year and at the same time were very involved in Dobermanns as well. Today they continue to breed both Lhasas and Afghans and have made up several champions in Brazil and abroad. Their kennel name, Excalibur Quest, was involved with Pugs from 1996 till 2003 and are also now involved with Pomeranians. They imported a Lhasa from Finland who became No 1 in Brazil as well as a Pomeranian imported from Canada. Ana has been judging as an all rounder since 1995 and her husband Mario since 1998 at several all breed and specialty shows. They have judged in almost all countries of South America, Australia, Canada, Finland, Portugal, Denmark, Italy, Poland, Croacia, Luxemburg, South Africa and Mexico. Col. Joe Purkhiser and Murrel Purkhiser Joe has been an American Kennel Club Judge since 1977 and Murrel since 1998. They are breeder/exhibitors of Fox Terriers, Collies & Shelties. Also Provisional for American Eskimo Dogs, Chinese Shar- Pei, Chow Chows, Dalmatians, Finnish Spitz, Keeshonden, Schipperkes, and Shiba Inu. They have judged in Puerto Rico, Mexico, Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Australia and Argentina. Raymond Yurrick Raymond was an All-Breed professional handler in Canada and USA for 25 years. He has bred, owned and exhibited Whippet, Wire Fox Terrier, Australian Terrier, Bichon Frise, Toy & Miniature Poodle, Afghan, Bouvier, West Highland White Terrier, Pointer, Toy Fox Terrier under the kennel name Brushwood. He has been judging since 2012 in both Canada and the USA.

CONFORMATION CLASSES The following Regular CKC Classes (divided by sex) will be offered: JUNIOR PUPPY CLASS - This class shall be for any dog 6 months of age and under 9 months of age on the day of the show SENIOR PUPPY CLASS - This class shall be for any dog 9 months of age and under 12 months of age on the day of the show 12 to 18 MONTHS This class shall be for any dog 12 months of age and under 18 months of age on the day of the show. CANADIAN BRED CLASS - This class shall be for any dog born in Canada. Champions of an country are excluded. BRED BY EXHIBITOR CLASS - This class shall be for any dog owned and handled in the ring by owner/breeder. The handler MUST be the owner/co- owner AND breeder/co-breeder of the dog. The owner/breeder must handle the dog at the class level, but need not handle the dog for further awards OPEN CLASS - This class shall be for all dogs. SPECIALS ONLY CLASS - This class shall be for any dog that has a recorded CKC Registration or Event Registration Number and has attained the required points for Championship status. Note: A Listed dog may be moved to the Specials Only Class after the closing of entries, provided the CKC Individual or Event Registration Number was received prior to the first day of the show. The request to move a class dog to the Specials Only Class MUST be received by the Show Secretary ONE HOUR PRIOR TO THE OPENING OF THE SHOW ON THE DAY CONCERNED. Listing Fees WILL NOT be refunded NON-REGULAR CLASSES EXHIBITION ONLY - All dogs entered in this class shall be listed in the catalogue with the same particulars as dogs entered in regular competition. Dogs entered in this class MAY NOT COMPETE in any Regular class but may enter and compete in Non-Regular classes and/or Parades ONLY BABY PUPPY This class is for all dogs 3 months of age and under 6 months of age on the day of the show. VETERANS CLASS - This class is for dogs 7 years of age and over on the day of the show. Dogs entered in these classes may be spayed or neutered. UNOFFICIAL CLASS BREEDER/OWNER/HANDLER - You must be entered in a Regular Class to be eligible and handle the dog at all levels to be eligible for BOH in Breed, BOH in Group and BOH in Show. There is no entry fee but you must enter online or check the entry form in the box provided for mailed in entries. No exceptions. SEXUALLY ALTERED CLASSES Eligibility for the Altered classes shall be limited to dogs over six months of age, which have been sexually altered by veterinary procedure. Points MAY NOT be carried from the regular competition judging to the Altered class judging. This class will be judged upon the completion of Best of Breed. Two classes ONLY will be offered: Altered Male and Altered Female Classes will be placed first through fourth in both sexes, the first place winner from each sex will be declared Winners and the second place winner from each sex will be awarded Reserve. The Altered Winners Male and Altered Winners Female will then compete for Best Altered in Breed.

RALLY JUDGES David Denis David has been showing and breeding dogs since 1973. He has bred, owned and exhibited Bernese Mountain Dogs, Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs and Entlebucher Mountain Dogs. He has been judging since 1996. In addition to Canada, he has judged in Denmark, England, Finland, Scotland and USA. He is also licensed to judge all Levels of Obedience, both Levels of Drafting, all-breeds in Lure Coursing. Pearl Fabbro Pearl breeds, owns and shows Collie under the kennel name Celtic Moon Collie. She is looking forward to working with the exhibitors competing in Nanaimo Rally trials. OFFICIAL RALLY CLASSES: No dog may be entered in both Advanced A and Advanced B at the same trial or Excellent A and Excellent B at the same trial. RALLY NOVICE A - Dogs competing in this class may not have won a CKC Rally Novice (R.N.) title or any CKC Novice Obedience title. No handler who has exhibited a dog through its CKC Companion Dog Excellent (C.D.X.) title or instructed dog training classes shall be eligible to enter this class. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner, or member of their immediate families. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. A dog may continue to compete in this class after the owner has been notified by at least 2 different judges that the dog has won 3 qualifying scores in this class. However a dog may not be entered or exhibited in this class in any rally trial after the owner has received official notification form the CKC that the dog has won the title. RALLY NOVICE B - Any dog may compete in this class until a qualifying score in the Rally Advanced class is earned. The owner or any other person may handle dogs in this class. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. All exercises are judged on leash, and all dogs must enter and leave the ring on leash. RALLY INTERMEDIATE - This class shall be for dogs that have earned the R.N. title. A dog completing the R.I. or any other obedience or rally titles may continue to compete in this class indefinitely. The owner or any other person may handle dog in this class. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. RALLY ADVANCED A - This class shall be for dogs that have won the Rally Novice (R.N.) title but have not won the Rally Advanced (R.A.) title or any CKC Novice Obedience title. No handler who has exhibited a dog through its CKC Companion Dog Excellent (C.D.X.) title or instructed dog training classes shall be eligible to enter this class. The handler of any dog in this class must be the owner, co-owner, or a member of their immediate families. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. A dog may continue to compete in this class after the owner has been notified by at least 2 different judges that the dog has won 3 qualifying scores in this class. RALLY ADVANCED B - This class shall be for dogs that have won the Rally Novice (R.N.) title. A dog completing the Rally Advanced (R.A.) title may continue to compete in this class indefinitely. The owner or any other person may handle dogs in this class. A person may enter more than one dog in this class. All exercises are judged off leash. All dogs must enter and leave the ring on leash. RALLY EXCELLENT A - This class shall be for dogs that have won the Rally Advanced (R.A.) title, but have not won the Rally Excellent (R.E.) title or any CKC Novice Obedience title. No handler who has exhibited a dog through its CKC Companion Dog Excellent (C.D.X.) title or instructed dog training classes shall be eligible to enter this class. The handler of any dog in this case must be the owner, the co-owner, or a member of their immediate families. A person may enter more than one dog in this class, A dog may continue to compete in this class after the owner has been notified by at least 2 different judges that the dog has won 3 qualifying scores in this class. However, a dog may not be entered or exhibited in this class in any rally trial after the owner has received official notification from the CKC that the dog has won the title. RALLY EXCELLENT B - This class shall be for dogs that have won the Rally Advanced (R.A.) title. A dog completing the Rally Excellent (R.E.) title may continue to compete in this class indefinitely. The owner or any other person may handle dogs in this class, A person may enter more than one dog in this class. All exercises are judged off leash except the Honor Exercise. All dogs must enter and leave the ring on leash. RALLY MASTER - This class is for dogs that have earned the RE title. Any person may handle the dog in this class. Dogs must earn 3 qualifying scores of 85 points or more under at least 2 different judges. UNOFFICIAL RALLY CLASSES: All dogs entered in the unofficial rally classes must also be entered in an official rally class or exhibition only. Clubs may offer Rally Novice, Rally Advanced and/or Rally Excellent. RALLY BRACE CLASS This class requirement is the same as the obedience brace class, except that they are open to any 2 dogs that have earned a title of R.N. or higher. RALLY TEAM CLASS This class requirement is the same as the obedience team class, except that the class is open to any 4 dogs that have earned a title of R.N. or higher. Each team member will run the course individually, with the team time running continuously. The judge will give the first member of the team the Forward command from the Start sign. Each subsequent dog and handler will start when the previous dog and handler pass the Finish sign, without any additional command of Forward by the judge. Timing for each team will begin when the judge commands Forward to the first handler in the team and will stop when the fourth handler and dog pass the finish line.

Section 3.4.1 Junior Handler with the exception of Pee Wees, must apply to CKC Head Office on the appropriate form for a Junior Handling Number within 30 days of competing in their first Junior Handling event. This Junior Handling Number will be used by the Junior Handler for the duration of their Junior Handling career. If a Junior Handling number is not obtained, Junior Handling points earned will not be tracked.

We are encouraging families and children to come to the show. NANAIMO KENNEL CLUB MEET THE BREEDS - FREE SATURDAY, JUNE 15 th, 5:00 7:00 pm All owners, breeders, handlers and junior handlers; are invited to showcase purebred dogs to the general public at our June show. A great evening is planned to show off dogs and share knowledge with people who may be looking for a new family member. Or.just interested in well bred beautiful dogs. An exciting evening is planned, business dress for those showcasing your dogs and dogs beautifully groomed and turned out for the ring. In a Westminster Kennel Club type style, announcing dogs as they run in, and telling a bit about the dog. Benching afterwards where you are welcome to meet the public and hand out any paperwork on your breed, hand out business cards and share your knowledge. If your breed club would like to participate we welcome them. You are welcome to bring displays and information to share. There is lots of room so bring it all! The show will be in the center ring, made large for the presentation, so lots of room to run and show off your dogs. Refreshments will be available. Extensive advertising will be done, and we will have a large crowd of people for you to talk to about your breed. GENERAL RULES GOVERNING THESE SHOWS It is the responsibility of the Exhibitor to be familiar with the rules pertaining to the event in which they are competing. Copies of the Conformation Rule book are available from: The CKC, 400 200 Ronson Dr., Etobicoke, ON M9W 5Z9 or online at www.ckc.ca 1. The Club reserves the right to remove any person from the show. The Show Superintendent shall have full control of the above shows and trials, which will be governed by CKC rules. 2. Any dog excused by the Show Superintendent or the Show Veterinarian for any reason shall not, after being excused, compete in any class for any award for the balance of the show. 3. The show committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of accident, or other misfortune, to either dogs, exhibitors or patrons. 4. A Judge or any person participating in any capacity at a Dog Show held under CKC Rules shall not be subjected to any indignity of any kind during the progress of the show and it shall be the duty and obligation of the Club holding the show to see that this rule is effectively carried out. The Show Superintendent shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of the rules, and the Discipline Committee shall have the power to take such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this rule has been violated. 5. Exhibitors are solely responsible for the conduct or actions of their animals while they are on the show grounds. 6. DOGS MUST BE READY FOR JUDGING. The Club will not be responsible for and is not obligated to provide any service for notifying owners or agents of breed or class judging. No ring shall be held up waiting for exhibitors or handlers. Exhibitors & Handlers with more than one dog shall have substitute handlers available so the judging will not be delayed. All start times are PACIFIC TIME. 7. The owner of a dog entered in these shows is entirely responsible for any error in entering his/her dog, regardless of how or by whom the entry was made. 8. A dog once disqualified for any reason at a championship show held under these rules cannot again be shown at a show held under these rules until the dog has been examined by an official committee appointed by the CKC and the committee finds the dog is free from the condition which prompted the disqualification. Application for reinstatement must be accompanied by a fee of $50.00 plus GST which shall be forfeited to the CKC if the examining committee is satisfied that the dog should remain disqualified. All awards earned at a dog show in violation of this rule shall be canceled by the CKC and the owner of the dog is subject to disciplinary action. 9. Exhibitors and handlers will be responsible for their dogs and for their equipment left at the Show Grounds. 10. For the benefit of the health of animals and the pleasure of the exhibitors and spectators we insist upon keeping our grounds and buildings as clean as possible. Exhibitors are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs. Please exercise your dog BEFORE taking it to the Judging ring. Dogs are to be exercised in the designated areas only, not in the vicinity of the ring areas. 11. No entry fee will be refunded if the Show cannot open or be completed by reason of riots, civil disturbances, fire, and Act of God, public emergency, act of public enemy, strikes or any other cause beyond the control of the Club. 12. Entry fees will not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by the Veterinarian or Judge, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee.

FIRE SAFETY RULES: Extension cords may not be laid across an aisle. Power bars are not permitted. Aisles must be kept open at all times to allow everyone easy and speedy exit in case of emergency. All designated FIRE LANES must be kept clear at all times or vehicles will be towed at owner s expense. ADDITIONAL CLUB RULES: Exhibitors will be responsible for cleaning up after their dogs. Violators will be asked to leave the show grounds. Crates will be allowed at ringside during the judging of your specific breed only and must be removed immediately after. No Exceptions. Dogs are not allowed in washrooms and must be on leash at all timed on the show grounds or within the show building with the exception of the obedience rings. The welfare of an exhibitor s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that you will exercise control and restraint over the children in your care on the days of these shows. The Club is not responsible for lost or stolen property from exhibitors or venders/concessions. The Club will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of accident or misfortune to either dogs, exhibitors, spectators or vendors. Plastic sheeting must be under all exercise pens. Dogs must be exercised in the designated areas. Dogs may not relieve themselves on or near the building. Failure to observe this rule may result in dismissal. Any tape used in the building has to be easily removable and must be removed after the show is competed. Colored tape is not allowed. You must leave your setup in the same clean condition you found it in when you first arrived at the show. No liquid waste is to be disposed of in garbage cans. All RV units must have buckets underneath for their sink drains. Anyone found discharging water on the grounds will be removed by order of the Health Department and may be subject to a fine. No catering of any kind is permitted. The club reserves the right of restricting exhibitors grooming space. Grooming is not allowed in the Rally benching area. Any videographer or photographer, other than the official videographer/photographer, that is going to take picture for which they will be remunerated will require written permission from the Nanaimo Kennel Club Show Committee and/or the official show videographer/photographer.

CANADIAN KENNEL CLUB SCHEDULE OF CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS SECTION 2. The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of points to be allocated to a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as follows: (*Includes the dog awarded Winners.) Dogs Competing* 1 2 3 to 5 6 to 9 10 to 12 13 or more Points Allocated* 0 1 2 3 4 5 To determine the number of championship points earned by a dog awarded Winners, total all the dogs in competition which the dog defeated, directly or indirectly, for the highest of the following official breed awards: Winners, Best of Winners, Best of Breed or Best of Opposite Sex and then consult the schedule set forth above. A dog that is disqualified, dismissed, excused or ordered from the ring by the judge shall not be included in the calculation for championship points. Further section 15.1.12 {C} has been added and states the dog must: have earned at least one 2 point win either at the breed level or group level. The system provides for additional points if a dog awarded winners also places in the Group as listed here under. In no case may a dog earn more than five (5) points at a single show. To earn a Canadian Championship, a dog must earn at least ten championship points under at least three different judges; and be individually registered with the Canadian Kennel Club, or have a CKC Event Registration Number (ERN).

AGREEMENT I (we) acknowledge that I (we), all exhibitors, handlers and patrons, know and abide by the CKC Dog Show Rules, and that I am (we are) familiar with their content. I (we) agree that the Club holding this show has the right to refuse this entry for cause, which the Club shall deem to be sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of the Show and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prize money, ribbons or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the Nanaimo Kennel Club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or show secretary and the owner or lessor of the premises and any employees of the aforementioned parties, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of a dog while in or upon the show premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim, and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss of a dog by disappearance, theft, death or otherwise, and from any claim for damage or injury to the dog, whether such loss, disappearance, theft, damage or injury be caused or alleged to be caused by the negligence of the Club or any of the parties aforementioned, or by the negligence of any other person, or any other cause or causes. I (we) hereby assume the sole responsibility for and agree to indemnify and save the aforementioned parties harmless from any and all loss and expense (including legal fees) by reason of the liability imposed by law upon any of the aforementioned parties because of bodily injuries, including death at any time resulting therefrom, sustained by any person or persons, including myself (ourselves), or on account of damage to property, arising out of or in consequence of my (our) participation in this show, howsoever such injuries, death or damage to property may be caused and whether or not the same may have been caused and whether or not the same may have alleged to have been caused by negligence of the aforementioned parties or any of their employees or agents, or any other person.
