This year we are proud to host the California National. The Cal National Banquet will be held on Saturday evening and hosted by the members of the Food project in the Natividad 4-H Club. The food promises to be delicous and the atmosphere friendly and fun. We hope that you will join us to honor this years recipients. RULES 1. Entries close January 8th, 2010 (Postmarked) Mail to: GCPF 15300 Del Monte Farms Rd Castroville, CA 95012 An entry form is provided with each show catalog. Entries submitted on a plain sheet of paper are acceptable when accompanied by the proper information and entry fees. Only one exhibitor number will be assigned per entry form. Use a separate entry sheet for EACH exhibitor. All birds must be identified by a numbered leg band conforming to the entry form. 2. Entry fee is $3.00 per bird and must accompany the entry form. Make checks payable to Donald Barger. 3. The exhibition, in all respects will be under the control of the appointed board of directors and the Superintendent of the GCPF, who will be governed by the rules and regulations of the American Poultry Association. 4. Birds showing evidence of disease or parasites will be removed from the showroom. 5. Only purebred poultry will be judged in accordance with the latest published Standards. 6. All birds will be considered Large Fowl unless otherwise stated on the entry form. 7. Entry form must state whether birds are: bearded or nonbearded, single comb or rose comb, when it applies. 8. No persons other than judges and show officials shall be allowed to handle the exhibits without the consent of the owners. Any person interfering with the judges or judging shall have his/her entire entry disqualified. 9. GCPF reserves the right to substitute or hire additional judges if the need arises. 10. All premiums and awards for specialty clubs and individuals are accepted in good faith, however, GCPF will not be responsible for payments of awards if not received. 11. ALL BIRDS ARE ENTERED AT THE OWNERS RISK. Entering birds shall constitute agreement with the rules and regulations set forth herewith. 12. GCPF asks all exhibitors to provide cage dividers for their own birds when necessary.

COMPLIMENTARY BUFFET Gold Coast Poultry Fanciers are proud to sponsor, again this year, a complementary Deli-Buffet. It will be held on Friday night, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Members are invited to bring items for the buffet: Salads, vegetables, deserts, etc... Cold cuts, bread, condiments and drinks are provided. RAFFLE This year the raffle will be held on Saturday at 3:30PM. Tickets will be on sale prior to the drawing at the Snack Bar - 3 tickets for $1.00. We encourage you to participate by donating prizes and/or buying tickets to support this fun event! POULTRY SALES AREA A limited number of poultry sales cages will be available for $10.00 per cage. Anyone wishing to reserve sale cages must indicate this on the entry form and include the fee(s) with the entry. Each individual will be responsible for care and feeding of any sale birds. All sales are to be handled by the seller, GCPF assumes no responsibility. The overcrowding of sale cages will not be tolerated. SHOWMANSHIP Showmanship will be held on Saturday at 1:00. Awards will be given. The sign-up sheet will be available at the club desk. Please sign up as early as possible. American Bantam Association - District Meet PLAQUE TO: CHAMPION BANTAM & RESERVE CHAMPION BANTAM Pins for Champion and Reserve for all seven bantam divisions providing there are 25 birds competing. Dues are $20.00 per year $50.00 for three years. New members receive a copy of the quarterly and the latest available copy of the annual American Bantam Association Year Book which lists 900 advertisers and a complete breed and variety index. Winners of ABA awards are listed in the year book under Who's Who in Bantams. Starred wins are earned by Champions and Reserve Champions in the seven bantam divisions when the number of birds competing is 100 or more. Starred wins are also awarded to Best and Reserve of Breed and Variety when 100 or more birds are competing. A single bird is eligible for only one award and can earn only one starred win. American Poultry Association - Club Meet The APA invites you to become a member. Annual dues are $15/1 year, $40/3 years, $25.00 for one year outside the U.S. and Canada; Junior Dues (for those 18 and under) are $10.00 per year. Endowment Trust Life membership is $240.00. All Annual and Endowment Trust Life members receive our yearbook and are eligible to earn points toward a Master ExhibitorAward. Every member is eligible for the awards at this show. A Minimum of 5 Master Exhibitor award points will be awarded to any qualified win at this show. Awards: An APA Certificate will be awarded for the Champions of the following divisions when twenty-five or more are judged (except in Turkeys where only ten are required) and an A.P.A. Certificate will be awarded to the Reserve Champion in each of these divisions: LARGE CHICKEN - BANTAM CHICKEN - DUCK - GOOSE - TURKEY A special APA District Medal will be awarded for the Champions of the following classes when twenty-five or more are judged (except in Turkeys where only ten are required) Large Fowl: American, Asiatic, English, Mediterranean, Continental, AOSB Bantams: Modern Game, Old English, SCCL, RCCL, AOCCL, Feather Legged Ducks: Heavy, Medium, Light, Bantam Geese: Heavy, Medium, Light Turkeys: All Competing in one class Junior Awards: An APA medal plus 1 year Junior Membership will be given for the following: Champion Large Chicken shown by a Junior Champion Bantam shown by a Junior Champion of Ducks, Geese and Turkeys combined that is shown by a Junior Juniors need not be members to receive these awards All Judging will be by the latest edition of the American Standard of Perfection. This is the banquet that will present the Exhibit of Merit Plaques for the 2008-2009 Show year. This year, there will be 18 Plaques awarded, so come and enjoy the ceremony, along with a great meal. CALIFORNIA NATIONAL MEET This show is a recognized POINT MEET for the California National Show Year (October 2008 through April 2009). Anyone who is a member of a California poultry club is eligible to enroll and compete for the Exhibit of Merit and Breed Fanciers awards. Point will be awarded to an exhibitor for their 6 highest scoring recognized California National Shows. The cost to join is $10.00 for the show year, which will be used for awards. No points will be awarded for wins of show attended prior to receipt of the enrollment form.
