All participating teams will receive a suitable momento. Regulations Entrants are responsible for obtaining the BMDCA Draft Test Regulations (June 2007 edition) and being familiar with them. Refund of entry fees for bitches entered who come in season after the closing date of the Test may be obtained by mailing a veterinarian s certificate to the Test Secretary postmarked before the opening day of the Test, or by handing it to the Test Secretary before the start of the Test (prior to 8:30 AM, October 18, 2008).

Test Site The tests will be held at the Pearl Hill State Park, a 1000-acre state park in West Townsend, Massachusetts located mid state, just south of the New Hampshire border, about 50 miles northwest of Boston. The park is connected by trails to 2600-acre Willard Brook State Forest. The test will be held entirely outdoors and will encompass grass, pavement and woodsy trails with moderate hills, both up and down. Directions to the Test From the northeast: Take Rte. 495 to Littleton and the intersection with Rte. 119 west. Follow 119 west about 19 miles to West Townsend. Turn left (south) on New Fitchburg Rd. Follow New Fitchburg Rd. 1.5 miles to the park entrance on the right. From the west: Follow Rte. 2 east to Rte. 31 north in Fitchburg. Follow 31 north through Fitchburg to the town of Ashby and the intersection with Rte. 119 east. Follow 119 east about 2.5 miles to New Fitchburg Rd. in West Townsend. Turn right on New Fitchburg Rd. The park entrance is 1.5 miles on the right. From the east: Rte. 2 west to Leominster and Rte. 13 north. Follow Rte. 13 north to Rte. 119 west in West Townsend. turn left onto Rte. 119. Entry Info & Important details The entry fee is $30.00 per team. The brace entry fee is $30.00 per twodog team. A separate entry form is required for each dog, therefore two entry forms are needed for a brace. Please submit a separate entry form (complete with signed agreement page) for each DAY entered, as well. We welcome entries for both days. The entry is limited to 24 teams each day across all classes. If more than 24 entries are received, a random drawing will be held within 48 hours of the closing date. All entrants will be notified by mail, phone or e-mail of their entry status. Alternates will also be drawn and may compete in the absence of regular entries. Any slots not filled by Bernese Mountain Dogs will be open to all breeds. Preference in an overfilled test is given to dogs untitled in the class in which they are entered (NDD, DD, BNDD or BDD). This certificate must be dated within the 60 days prior to the Test Date (August 18 th or later). Handlers provide their own DRAFT RIGS, HARNESSES, FREIGHT WEIGHT and TIE DOWNS or other means of securing a load in the particular draft rig. FREIGHT HAUL WEIGHT LOADS: In Novice Draft, the weight required is 20 lbs. In Open Draft, the weight required is the weight of the dog rounded down to the nearest 10 lbs. In Novice Brace Draft, the weight required is 40 lbs. per team. In Open Brace Draft, the weight required is the sum of the Open weight for each dog. (Ex. 74 lb. dog (70 lbs.) plus 79 lb. dog (70 lbs.) = 140 lbs. freight weight)
