Entries will however be accepted until Wednesday, 6 April 2016, in which case cage labels will have to be collected at the show venue. Birds will only be accepted on Saturday morning 9 April 2016 from 07:15 08:00 if the exhibitor is unable to bench on Friday and only if the Show Secretary has been telephonically advised at 083 255 3254 before 19:00 on Friday night, 8 April 2016 and provided with the class and exhibit numbers of the birds that will NOT be benched. (It is of utmost importance that the Show Secretary is notified in order for the documentation to be prepared for the judging.) Birds sent by Air: Please contact the Transit Manager if you are sending birds by air and ensure that payment for the return flight is made in advance together with your entry fee. Please let the Transit Manager know if you have booked a return flight in advance. Birds must arrive at the East London airport not later than 15:00 on Friday 8 April 2016 and will not be dispatched back before 10:00 on Sunday 10 April 2016. A limited number of seeded show cages are available for hire @ R15.00 per show cage. These need to be booked in advance and is on a first come first served basis. Briefing of stewards: All members wishing to steward must be at the hall for briefing at 08:30 on Saturday 9 April 2016. Judging: Will commence at 09:00 on 9 April 2016. Show Hours for the public: Saturday 9 April 2016 from 10:00 to 15:00.
Prize Giving: Saturday 9 April 2016 approximately 1 hour after judging is complete. De-benching of Birds: Saturday afternoon, 9 April 2016 after prize giving or arrangements could be made with Andre Kruger on 083 956 4614 to debench on Sunday morning, 10 April 2016 from 07:00. When it is announced that de-benching may commence, please proceed to collect your birds and make your way to any exit point in an orderly queue with your birds for booking out. Please do not remove any exhibit from the staging before de-benching time. Special Request: If you know of a member of your Club who wishes to enter birds but did not receive a show catalogue and entry form, please be kind enough to make him/her a copy of the schedule and entry form. Club Secretaries are requested to please inform their members of this show. For Sale: There will be a For Sale section for anyone who would like to put birds up for sale. Show cages that do not comply with the standard as detailed in Appendix F of the Rules framed in terms of the Constitution of the BSSA (Volume 2 of 3) will not be accepted. This ruling came into effect on 1 October 2004 and birds benched in show cages that do not comply with this standard, will be disqualified. 2. All exhibits MUST be benched with unmarked finger draw drinkers fitted to the show cages between the 1 st and 2 nd vertical wires, on the left hand side when facing the cage and resting on the 2 nd horizontal bar from the bottom of the wire front. Bio-security precautions as communicated in the BSSA minutes of 4 May 2006 will be applied.

1. The Show Rules and Show Schedule of the Budgerigar Society of South Africa shall apply. 2. Birds entered in wrong classes are entirely the responsibility of the exhibitor. Entries unaccompanied by the correct entry fee will not be accepted. Entry fees will be forfeited in respect of birds not benched. NO ALTERATIONS WILL BE ALLOWED ON ENTRY FORMS AFTER RECEIPT BY THE SHOW SECRETARY BUT ADDITIONAL ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED BEFORE THE CLOSING DATE IF ACCOMPANIED BY THE RELEVANT FEES. 3. The officials will ensure that all exhibits are properly cared for but will not, however, be responsible for any loss of, or damage to the birds or cages that may occur for any reason whatsoever either during the show or in transit to and from the show. Whilst extreme care and attention will be paid to the exhibits whilst at the show, exhibits are entered at owner s risk. 4. No person shall be allowed to remove from the staging any exhibit except with the permission and in the presence of the Show Manager. This rule will apply throughout the duration of the show. 5. Photographing of exhibits by spectators is permissible but under no circumstances may the exhibit or the show cage be touched or removed from the staging. If an official photographer is appointed for the purpose of taking photographs for publication, he/she may move the exhibit to a safe room and transfer it into a photographic cage but only in consultation with the Show Manager who will delegate a steward to assist. 6. Only show officials and members of the BSSA Management Committee will be allowed to move freely in the hall whilst judging is in progress. However, space allowing, spectators will be allowed to move around in the hall to view the birds on the staging but the judging area, in which only show officials and members of the Management Committee will be allowed, will be cordoned off. DE-BENCHING 7. Exhibitors are to collect their de-benching sheets from the Show Secretary on (Saturday 9 April after prize giving). 8. At the announcement that de-benching may commence, birds are to be collected and an orderly queue formed by exhibitors with their birds and de-benching sheets at any exit point for booking out. 9. Exhibitors are requested NOT to remove any exhibit from the staging prior to the official announcement that de-benching may commence.
