Friendliness of security and road direction workers (red shirts) 16. Weigh in was super easy for sheep, goat weigh in should be the same way 17. A thanks to Watts Hay for the donated straw for the dairy and beef. 18. Special shout out to Mike Poncetta and the beef team for being extremely helpful with us this year, especially with us having longhorns. Recommendations: 1. Exhibitor meeting in all Barns with teams. Go over procedures and how the show will proceed schedule different times to insure dual species attend all meetings. (ADMIN) 2. Provide exhibitor wristbands proving entry of a livestock animal and eligibility to show and groom animals. (ADMIN)

3. Use a Livestock Team Policy at all times see updated policy attached. (ADMIN) 4. All Livestock Team Chairs should be officially appointed (in person) by the KCF Board of Directors. (ADMIN) 5. Hire outside (of Kern County) breed caller do not use the judge (ADMIN) 6. Bring back a Junior Fair Board Committee to assist during the year with jackpot shows as well as host events during the fair for exhibitors to participate in. (ADMIN) 7. Appoint a Judges Lunch Chairman this person is responsible for setting up each Livestock team to host (find a donor) for a Judges/Team/Director/Advisor/Leader Lunch during all Market Animal Show days (Saturday-Tuesday) in the livestock patio and tent behind the sheep show ring. (ADMIN) 8. Create a DNA/blood/urine testing area tent outside auction office on grass. All champions receive a paper slip from the show ring and must report to the tent for sampling. NO ONE is waiting to be tested at their pens or out in the big red barn with no official quarantined area. If you don t get your test done and paper turned in, you don t sell. (ADMIN) 9. Move breeding show up by one day Show all breeding on Wednesday and remove them from the grounds on Wednesday so that ALL market animals can arrive on Thursday without time barriers. (ADMIN) 10. Consider the use of fans in barns especially beef (ADMIN) 11. Fix metal pen side kickboards in swine barn. (ADMIN) 12. Post a printed TIME for each pre-weigh in each species barn. (ADMIN) 13. Save money Do not print bulk premium books. Post online and send ONE official copy to designated Advisors and Leaders only. 14. Make speaker stands for the auction barn so the block can be seen by all (ADMIN) 15. (ADMIN) 17. Awards for Alpacas (buckle) (ADMIN)

18. Entertain the thought of Junior FFA Showmanship for freshmen and sophomores only with the top 3 advance to Senior Showmanship. (recommendation to look at how other fairs operate.) 19. How is showmanship divved up? Spread out clubs so not all of them are in the same class. (ADMIN) 20. Need more power in the sheep barn supply a generator ( More generators for the barns, or just have the electricity brought up to modern standards.) (ADMIN) 21. Consistent forms of communication with advisors and leaders. (ADMIN) 22. Better electricity for campers that pay $500 for a spot(admin) 23. For Sale or Auction Item signs for Ag Mechanics exhibits that will be going across the auction make sure they are on each item and the date is published. (ADMIN EXHIBIT DEPARTMENT) 24. Add fitting contest in sheep barn (ADMIN) 25. Clarification on who can substitute show for someone s absence. (ADMIN) 26. Post the list for weigh in so we have a better idea of when we are in the order(admin) 27. Only one FFA showmanship class. There should be some split either between lower and upper class men or novice and advanced. (BOARD) 28. Better laid out areas in beef barn for tack, chutes, ect. We barely had enough space for our animals, and by the time we found out where the chutes should go, people had completely taken over the area. (ADMIN) 29. More notice about when the fair is going to need bills of sales and transports slips, as well as notice of rules affecting showmanship i.e. students market animal doesn t make weight, and they have a second, they cannot show showmanship with the first. (LIVESTOCK BOOK) 30. Clarification on some rules in the rule book in regard to auction. For instance, we were confused on the wording in the section regarding animals underweight but within a certain amount of the weight at the fair. The way it is currently worded, it sounds as if the student can still auction a market animal through the fair, provided only if it is their only animal at the fair period, instead of it saying the fair can process paper work for a private transaction only. (LIVESTOCK BOOK)

Rule Change Suggestions: 1. Collect all Bills of Sale upon Entry Due Dates(LIVESTOCK BOOK) 2. Stop retinal scanning and ear tagging on the grounds DNA ALL livestock (LIVESTOCK BOOK) 3. Require only one photo for DNA with exhibitor/animal and ear tags in place do not send photos to scale for identifying livestock. (LIVESTOCK BOOK) 4. No surrender date for extra tags before official weigh in print all weight cards and identify those animals brought on the grounds during weigh in. Page 17 Rule 7 5. Miniature Market Beef Division 102 should NOT compete against Division 103 Market Beef and be eligible for overall grand and reserve grand because they are not required to be terminal. (LIVESTOCK BOOK) 6. Split all FFA Showmanship into 9 th -10 th grade and 11th and above. Top 2 winners from 9 th and 10th grade advance to 11th and 12th grade showmanship to compete for Round Robin. (LIVESTOCK BOOK) 7. Move Independents back into showing with their age appropriate group within 4H and FFA divisions. (ADMIN) 8. Keep Independents in their own division for Showmanship. 9. Split ALL Market shows to into 4H and FFA show Divisions; beef, sheep, goat, swine(livestock BOOK) 10. Stop rotating the shows with FFA, 4H and IND for each breed. Do the entire Show for each organization and don t rotate it. 11. Remove replacement option of animal page 18 #9(LIVESTOCK BOOK) 12. Do away with barrow show OR Show barrows on Monday after Showmanship with the showmanship judge, and then show KB&F on Tuesday with a different judge. Having KB&F and Barrows shown on the same day, with the same judge does not work it s essentially the same show. (LIVESTOCK BOOK)

13. Remove ALL extended divisions page 17 Extended Divisions(LIVESTOCK BOOK) 14. Page 22 #64 remove portion All animals should be trimmed before they come to the fair this rule suggest that no clippers can be used at the fairgrounds in any barns. This has never been enforced and should not be considered. (LIVESTOCK BOOK) 15. Page 23 #79 Remove rule regarding No radios, or Tables in the barns. Tables are needed to do homework. (ADMIN) 16. Market Swine page 39 #6 - Change to read that Supreme Grand and reserve Supreme Grand (top two of the fair) must sell. (LIVESTOCK BOOK) 17. Market Swine page 39 #7 remove animal hair length rule. This is old and outdated. (LIVESTOCK BOOK) 18. Market Swine page 39 #8 remove or rewrite this rule. Not informed and never collected. Adopt a new system for flagging all unsightly animals and dirty pens tie a RED tag to exhibitor pen noting the ear tag number on the tag. Once exhibitor sees the tag they must report to barn chairman for official citation of infraction or offense. (LIVESTOCK BOOK) 19. Remove the cost of fitting chutes and show tables No one checks for bands and seems to be a waste of time in ordering bands and identifying who bought bands. (LIVESTOCK BOOK) 20. Apply an official rule of understanding for animals with Horns what s the rule for wether dams versus rule for beef Cattle It is the opinion of show industry that no market beef animals should exhibit horns beyond ½ - 1 from base of skull at skin break. (LIVESTOCK BOOK) 21. Remove stall fee for horses. They are the only animal on the fairgrounds that pay for the use of a pen. (LIVESTOCK BOOK) 22. Sheep: Division 405 Market Wether. CHange and keep it as a market ewe class. Having a market wether class is the same market show. (LIVESTOCK BOOK)
