CAVALIERS OF THE WEST 01/13/2018, WOODLAND HILLS, CALIFORNIA DAVID MOGER, UK I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge this show, and for their excellent hospitality over the weekend. I also thank the exhibitors for entering, and for the sportsmanlike attitude to their and other people's placings. My decisions were made on the temperament, type and conformation of the dogs, and there were some close decisions to be made. Sometimes when dogs are equally good in most respects, it comes down to a trivial fault that I would normally overlook, but my job on the day is to place them. JUNIOR PUPPY DOG (3) 1. ISLEPOSEA WALK ON FERRY (Hoehn) Well-marked 7 Month old Blenheim. Lovely on the move due to excellent conformation. Good topline and tail and nice markings made it a pleasure to watch. Super head in all respects and a really soft expression that weighed heavily in my decision to award him first place and BEST PUPPY DOG. 2. BROOKHAVEN DONOVAN (Milosevic) 8 Month old Blenheim. Quite lightly marked and another with good conformation that looked good on the move. It was difficult decision between these first two. Like the winner, he had a very pleasing head, but finally lost out on expression. 3. COBRNIK REED BUNTING (Tegg) Richly coloured 7 Month old Ruby, nice size and very well made. Good angulation, topline and tail. Nice head type and not overdone. Let himself down a bit when moving, but he is still a baby and has plenty of time to improve. I was pleased to award him BEST RUBY IN SHOW and BEST RUBY DOG. SENIOR PUPPY DOG (1) 1. DELSOL DRESS TO IMPRESS (Macrae/McHenry) A very pretty heavily marked dog. Short in body and good topline, angulation and tail set. A well-balanced dog that looked good on the move. GRADUATE PUPPY DOG (3) 1. ALMEARA I BELIEVE (Parente) 2 year old Blenheim. Correct head with flat skull, high ears, large eyes, good pigment and teeth. Nice size with good topline and angulation both ends. Bouncy temperament which made the movement hard to assess. 2. KELLS NOVEMBER RAIN (Alameda-Wilkinson) 18 month old Blenheim. Pleasing flat head and high ears set and good expression with nice eyes. Lost out to one on topline and movement. 3. STARMARC MAN ABOUT TOWN (Rezowalli/Hooper) Well marked 7 month old Tricolour of the correct size. Nicely made and could move well but did not want to cooperate on the day.

BRED BY EXHIBITOR DOG (3) 1. CH JADESTONE LEGEND HAS IT, JW (Peek) Glamorous Blenheim. Small dog with a very pretty head, very correct with lovely eyes. Nice outline with a short back, good topline and tail set. Moved very tidily and with confidence. 2. CROSSBOW GREYHAWK DANIEL A KICKAPOO OF ZOOTS (Schiffman/Mittleman) Larger well marked 2 year old Blenheim. This dog had a sore eye on the day, which was a shame. Lovely head and expression, sound conformation and moved with elegance. 3. ASTARRING MADE WITH LOVE (Jennifer Flowers Foster) Mature Blenheim. Small dog with well broken (correct) markings. Extremely pretty head with nice flat between the ears. Large dark eyes and good teeth. Moved soundly, but lost his topline on the move. AMERICAN BRED DOG (4) 1. GLENELLEN ROYAL ROOKIE (Murphy) 18 month old Blenheim. Proper little showman, nice size with the correct length of leg. Showy sort of head, large dark eyes and nice ear set. Moved very well and carried his tail correctly. 2. ROCKCREEK MARK ME FIRST AT HIFLT, JW (Steagall) Heavier marked Blenheim. Special pretty head with large eyes and nice ear set. Shorter in the leg than I would have liked, but challenged hard for first place. He only lost it by pulling to one side on the move, which spoilt the picture. 3. JAYBA FUN AND GAMES AT ARCHPARK (Lyman/Lander/Lander) 2 year old Blenheim. Another very nice head framed by good ears. Good proportions and rear angulation. I would have liked more angulation on the front end. Moved tidily. 4. NIGHTHAWK'S BARE NECESSITIES CGC, NAC, OJC, TN-O, BR-N, HP-N, ICC (Mitchell) Blenheim with a nice head, but white around the eye spoilt his expression. Great temperament. Longer in the back than I would like, but that helped with elegant movement. HEALTH AND CONFORMATION DOG (1) 1. CH BRIARCREST BURBERRY (Katz) 6 year old Blenheim. Lovely shape to this dog with a correct moderate head, no exaggeration. At this point of my judging, it was the best mover I had seen. SPECIAL LIMIT BLENHEIM DOG (5) 1. MILBU JIM DANDY (Sherrin) One and a half year old Blenheim I was pleased to award RESERVE WINNERS DOG. Excellent moving correct sized dog with a lovely head. Sweet expression, good teeth, large eyes and good ear set. Very well balanced and a very good representative of the breed. 2. BRAEMARRA RUBEN OF SUMARA (Gentil)

2.75 year old well broken Blenheim. Another nice sized, well proportioned dog. A picture on the move. Nice head and expression. His coat was a lovely rich colour and of the correct texture. 3. DALVRECK STARSHINE (Ayers/Martz/McInally) 3 year old Blenheim. Prettiest head in the class. Eyes not as large as I would like, and not as balanced in outline as the one above, who was more elegant. Very good on the move. In full coat and very well presented. 4. LAREINA HIT THE JACKPOT (Roberts-Espinosa) 3 year old Blenheim. Larger type, not as good in front as ones above, moderate head. Unfortunately his ears had been chewed by puppies, so he lacked the glamour of the others. SPECIAL LIMIT TRICOLOR DOG (5) 1 BRIARCREST GOING FOR BAROQUE, JW (Gail Katz) 2.25 year old I was pleased to award BEST TRICOLOUR IN SHOW and BEST TRICOLOUR DOG. Very attractive head with nice expression, large eyes and good ear set. Good angles front and rear. Moved with elegance. 2 MILBU GREAT EXPECTATIONS (Sherrin/Sherrin) year old. Head not as pretty as first and longer in leg. Well constructed and moved confidently. 3 CANYONCREST TO THE LEADER OF THE BAND (DuRoss) This dog had the prettiest head in the class. Well proportioned, but a bit upright in front. Moved steadily. Coat a little unkempt. 4 MANHATTAN STYLE ORGANDI VIA TURRETBANK - (Gray/Sloan) 2 year old, longer cast. Not so attractive in head. Sound on the move. OPEN DOG (2) 1 CH CHADWICK JET SETTER AT HUDSONVIEW, JW (Glynn/Glynn) Very glamorous compact 2 year old Blenheim. Perfect size and good proportions. Very attractive head with a lovely expression. Large eyes and good nose pigment. In full coat of the correct texture. Excellent on the move, keeping a level topline and good tail carriage. I was pleased to award BEST IN SHOW, WINNERS DOG, BEST AMERICAN BRED IN SHOW, BEST AMERICAN BRED DOG, BEST BLENHEIM IN SHOW, BEST BLENHEIM DOG. 2 CROSSBOW HORTON HEARS A WHO (Schiffman/Mittleman) Rangier Blenheim, nice head, good eyes and correct bite. Good front and rear angulation. JUNIOR PUPPY BITCH (5) 1 ASTARRING ALL THE CATS MEOW (Foster) month old well broken Blenheim. Very promising with very pretty head and expression. Compact shape and good bone. Nice tail set. She lost out in the challenge for best puppy because she tended to lose her topline on the move. I am sure this will correct as she gets older.

2 SORELLA ARE YOU ON MY PILLOW (Green) Different type to one above, but very attractive 5 month old Blenheim. Rich colour. Good conformation and shape. Just needs more confidence. The best mover in the class. 3 ROCKCREEK FOREVER FLORRIE (Steagall) Well made elegant 8 month old Blenheim. Not as pretty in head as those above. Showed and moved well. 4 SORELLA GEORGIA ON MY MIND (Green) Another very promising baby. 5 month old Blenheim litter sister to #2. Pretty head and good eye. Very well made. Rolled a bit on the move. SENIOR PUPPY BITCH (3) 1 IVYLINE GO GO GIRL (Giampapa) Very attractive 9 month old Blenheim. Correct size. Well proportioned with a lovely head, elegant shape and excellent movement. Held her topline well and has a good tail carriage. I was pleased to award her BEST PUPPY IN SHOW and BEST PUPPY BITCH 2 PARLETT GOSSIP GIRL (Williams/Williams) Small well marked 10 month old Blenheim. Pretty head and nice expression, large eye, good ear set, not such good construction as winner, which showed in her movement. 3 DAISYLANE I FEEL THE EARTH MOVE (Sharp/Sharp/Schmidt) month Black-and-Tan. Pretty head, but lacked filling under the eyes. Long in leg and lacked bone. Erratic on the move. Needs more confidence. GRADUATE PUPPY BITCH (3) 1 MAYFIELD MISS WINNIE (Lunbeck/Mayfield) Correct size, well made 14 month old Blenheim. Full of confidence. Moved very well with a good topline and tail carriage. 2 ONTHEMARK MOONSTONE (Chan) 1 year old Blenheim. Lovely size and shape. Very good neck and shoulders. Pretty head with large eyes. Tail carried too low on the move. 3 DULANEY JULIET - (Barnfather/Barnfather) 13 month old Tricolour. Sweet face and large dark eyes. Small with good angles and moved well. BRED BY EXHIBITOR BITCH (2) 1 IVYLINE JUST LIKE SUGAR - (Ivy Giampapa) Well-proportioned 16 month old Blenheim of lovely quality. Lovely head type with large eyes, good pigment and correct ear set. Lovely size, excellent neck and shoulder and well turned stifle. Good tail set and firm topline, which she held at all times. Moved so well. Attractive well-broken markings. I was pleased to award her

RESERVE BEST IN SHOW, WINNERS BITCH, BEST OF OPPOSITE SEX IN SHOW, BEST BRED BY EXHIBITOR IN SHOW, BEST BRED BY EXHIBITOR BITCH, and BEST BLENHEIM BITCH. 2 PARLETT PINKY PROMISE, JW (Williams/Williams) 18 month old, nicely marked Blenheim who was shorter in face. Compact body carrying a little too much weight. JUNIOR AMERICAN BRED BITCH (1) 1 JADESTONE REBEL PRINCESS (Peek) Small, well proportioned 17 month old Blenheim. Pretty head with nice large eyes. Good topline and tail carriage and nice front. Would prefer a stronger rear. AMERICAN BRED BITCH (5) 1 BRIARCREST COCO LOVES PEARLS (Van Luchene/Van Luchene) Well made 19 month old Blenheim who looked lovely on the move. Small and very feminine, she has an excellent topline and tail carriage. 2 WYMNS HOLD THAT THOUGHT (Milosevic) Heavily marked 19 month old Blenheim. Slightly longer in back than one above. I liked her head and pretty expression. Good angulation and moved very well. 3 IVYLINE EMMA NEM TO LAUREL HAVEN (Bayer/Giampapa) Small, very feminine 2.5 year old Blenheim. Well Balanced. Attractive markings. Nicely made, but could have moved better today. 4 DELSOL LOVE IN AN ELEVATOR, JW (McHenry) year old Blenheim. Slightly longer cast than those above. Head did not appeal as much as the others and her nose pigment was off. Moved ok SPECIAL LIMIT BLENHEIM BITCH (3) 1 SONESTA CALIFORNIA DREAMING (Ellingson/Ellingson/Pennington) Small and pretty 2 year old Blenheim. Well proportioned and good angulations front and rear. Would have preferred a better croup. Moved ok. 2 WINDNSEA DANCING QUEEN, C-RN (Peterson/Peterson) Two year old Blenheim. Not as attractive in head as winner, but had a better croup and was a good steady mover. Slightly longer in back. 3 ORCHARDHILL NEVER ENOUGH BOOTS (Venier/Venier) Four and a half year old Blenheim who I thought would be my winner. I liked almost everything about her. Very pretty, but moved wide in front. SPECIAL LIMIT TRICOLOR BITCH (4) 1 COVINGTON SASSENACH (Mohn/Mohn) Very nice little girl. 2.5 year old Tricolour who easily won this class. Small and well balanced with a lovely neck and good topline and tail. In good coat and moved well. BEST TRICOLOR BITCH

2 LUXXAR REAL DEAL DRUZY OF GLENELLEN (Murphy) Attractively marked 4 year old Tricolour. Nice head and expression. Good neck and a nice size. Moved well but tended to dip on the shoulder on the move. 3 ROCKCREEK BINDI AT PARLETT (Williams/Williams/Steagall) Well coated heavily marked 3 year old Tricolour. Well cushioned face. Kept a good topline on the move. 4 WINDNSEA OLIVIA (Sutton/Sutton) Heavily marked 4 year old Tricolour. Not as well made as those above and plainer in face. SPECIAL LIMIT BLACK-AND-TAN BITCH (1) 1 TURRETBANK POSH PANSY (Gray/Sloan/Legerretta) Two year old Black-and-Tan who had a very nice outline. Well cushioned face and nice expression. Compact body with a good topline and tail carriage. Nice size, good angulation front and rear and moved very well. I was pleased to award her BEST BLACK-AND-TAN IN SHOW AND BLACK-AND-TAN BITCH. OPEN BITCH (2) Beautiful bitches that were difficult to separate. 1 CH CHADWICK SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY, JW (Eckersley) Glamorous 2.25 year old Blenheim in full coat which was the correct texture, soft and silky. Very attractive and feminine head with large eyes and gentle expression. Good neck and well angulated front and rear. Had a happy temperament and very waggy tail. I was pleased to award her RESERVE WINNERS BITCH. 2 CH CHADWICK DRAMA, JW (Hoehn/Eckersley) Three and a quarter year old Blenheim with many of the same qualities as the one above. Slightly shorter in back, she had a lovely outline. Just not quite as pretty in head and expression as the winner. SENIOR OPEN BITCH (1) 1 NOTTINGHILL ANNALISE (Barnfather/Barnfather) Well marked 10 year old Blenheim. A lovely old lady who could still move well. I was pleased to award her BEST VETERAN IN SHOW. VETERAN BITCH (1) 1 NOTTINGHILL ANNALISE (see class Senior Open Bitch)
