Captiol Plaza Hotel is a half block on your right. From West of Topeka: Take I-70 East to Exit 363 Adams St./Branner Trafficway Exit. Turn Left on Adams go approximately ¼ mi to 15th Street (first street on the right). Turn Right on 15th street and STAY TO THE LEFT for 17th street, when street forks bear left on to 17th. Travel 1 ½ mi to Topeka Blvd. Turn Left on Topeka Blvd and then Right into the Capitol Plaza Hotel main entrance. From South of Topeka: Take Kansas Turnpike (335) north to South Topeka Exit # 177. GENERAL INFORMATION & RULES ALL EVENTS Any hotel or motel used by exhibitors is subject to Event Committee Rules. We expect our exhibitors to be responsible guests. A report that an exhibitor at this show has abused hotel or motel property during this weekend may result in disciplinary action. Clubs reserve the right to decline future entries from the offending party in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 11, Section 15 of the Rules Applying to Dog Shows. Liability: It is expressly understood that exhibitors alone are responsible for the behavior of their dogs and/or children. Any exhibitor whose dogs and/or children create unnecessary disturbances or repeatedly engage in unsafe or disruptive behavior may, at the discretion of the Show Committee, be asked to leave the show site. In such cases, no refund of any fees paid will be made. The club, hotel, superintendent/show secretary, and any of their agents, or employees will assume no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by exhibitors or handlers, or to any of their dogs or property, and further assumes no responsibility for injury to children. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. Dogs found in an unsafe environment, distress or harm s way (for example: left unattended on a grooming table in a noose not attached to a safety release clip, left in a vehicle without proper ventilation) will be removed to safety. Exposing a dog to an unsafe environment, distress or harm s way is considered mistreatment. Ringside: Dogs may arrive at any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Judges will not wait for any dog. Owners and agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs at ringside when their class is called. The club, judges, stewards and Secretary have no obligation or responsibility to announce for or locate dogs that are not at ringside when required. Grooming: Grooming space will be provided in the Shawnee Room. The cost per space is $65.00 for a 8 x 8 space. Please use the all-in-one sheet to reserve spaces. There are 42 spaces available on a first come first served basis. There will be no grooming or bathing in the rooms. Dogs cannot be left unattended in the grooming area and cannot be housed there overnight. Bathing: There will be an outside bathing area provided outside the entrance to the grooming and ballroom areas. Class cash prizes will be paid in the ring to the person showing the dog. Claims for prize money must be made in the ring before the judging is over, and the Show Secretary be advised at once. The GPCA and the Show Secretary disclaim any liability for cash prizes after the judging is over. Top 20/Puppy Invitational Rules of Etiquette: This is a Semi-Formal attire event for all attendees, spectators, judges and participants unless other wise noted by a themed attire event. Men in business suits or tuxedo and women in cocktail/evenng clothes are considered appropriate attire for the event. TRANSFER OF ENTRIES NOTE: BECAUSE OF TRAVEL TIME TO THE SHOW SITE, TRANSFER OF ENTRIES AND REQUESTS FOR REFUNDS FOR PUBLISHED JUDGE CHANGES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IN THE OFFICE AFTER 12:00 NOON ON MONDAY, APRIL 27. AFTER THIS TIME, YOU MUST CONTACT THE ON-SITE SECRETARY ON SITE. CONFORMATION: Dogs may be transferred from one of the regular classes to the Best of Breed or Variety competition, provided this transfer is presented to the Superintendent at least one halfhour prior to the scheduled start of any regular conformation judging at the show. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP: Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class with competition present after the closing of entries for a show may transfer their entry from the Novice Class to the Open Class provided that this transfer is made by the Superintendent at least one-half hour prior to the scheduled start of Junior Showmanship judging at the show. Correction may be made from one age division to another. provided this transfer must be made to the Superintendent at least one half-hour prior to the judging of any Junior Showmanship class at the show. OBEDIENCE OR RALLY: A dog who has earned a title after entries have closed may be moved to another class in a future trial, provided the transfer request is presented to the Superintendent in writing at least 30 minutes prior to the start of each trial.
