Bishop Burton - HU17 8QG 14-15 Dec tbc ELIGIBILITY AND DEFINITION OF ES In the following definitions of classes First Prizes or other prize wins are those gained in standard classes at any Kennel Club licensed Championship Agility, Premier Agility, Open Agility or Limited Agility Shows (i.e. Limited Agility Shows, special classes and invitational events excepted). Only a first place with a clear round completed within the course time set by the judge will count towards grade progression. Standard classes may be scheduled for Agility Shows, as Agility classes or Jumping classes. All standard classes must contain the Weaving Poles obstacle. Standard Agility classes must contain the following elements: A Ramp, Dog Walk and See-Saw. With this proviso classes are defined as follows:- Class Structure. A Class may either be held as a Graded Class or a Combined Class. A Graded Class may be scheduled for a maximum of three consecutive Grades with separate results and awards issued for each grade. A Combined Class may be scheduled for more than one consecutive grade with one overall set of results. Progression. Progression from each Grade will be determined by the eligibility for the class as referenced in H(1)(A)11. Results from Combined Classes will only count towards progression from the dog s current grade. To count for progression wins must be gained in standard classes at Kennel Club Licensed Agility Shows. Only a first place with a clear round completed within the course time set by the judge will count towards grade progression.. Points Progression. At the handler s discretion a dog may progress up to Grade 4 by winning 100 points at each grade, using the Agility Warrant points scheme (Regulation K3.c refers). A minimum of 50 points must be gained in agility (not jumping) classes in the relevant grade. If this method of progression is selected, the handler must ensure the Show Secretary signs the dog s Agility Record Book at the first show entered at the higher grade. There is no time limit on this progression, however once a dog has progressed, it cannot return to a previous grade. Progression on points must be done prior to the closing date of entries. It is not possible to change a grade on points once the entries have closed. STANDARD ES Only first prizes and points gained in standard classes at Kennel Club licensed Agility Shows may be used for progression through the classes. (A dog is only eligible for one grade). In defining the eligibility of the owner or handler for Grade 1, the two wins and points progression referred to in the definition apply only to one dog and not an accumulation of dogs. Grade 1 Open to owners, handlers or dogs which have not gained a minimum of two first places at Grade 1 at Kennel Club Licensed Agility Shows, at least one of which must have been gained in an agility (not jumping) class. N.B Owners, handlers or dogs previously qualified out of Grade 1 are not eligible for this class. Grade 2 Open to dogs which are not eligible for Grade 1 or have elected to progress on points from Grade 1 and are not eligible for Grades 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7. Grade 3 Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of two first places at Grade 2 at Kennel Club Licensed Agility Shows, one of which must have been gained in an agility (not jumping) class, or have elected to progress on points from Grade 2 and are not eligible for Grades 2, 4, 5, 6 or 7. Grade 4 Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of three first places at Grade 3 at Kennel Club Licensed Agility Shows, two of which must have been gained in agility (not jumping classes), or have elected to progress on points from Grade 3 and are not eligible for Grades 2, 3, 5, 6 or 7 Grade 5 Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of four first places at Grade 4 at Kennel Club Licensed Agility Shows, two of which must have been gained in agility (not jumping) classes, and are not eligible for Grades 2, 3, 4, 6 or 7 Grade 6 Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of four first places at Grade 5 at Kennel Club Licensed Agility Shows, two of which must have been gained in agility (not jumping) classes, and are not eligible for Grades 2, 3, 4, 5 or 7. Grade 7 Open to dogs which have gained a minimum of five first places at Grade 6 at Kennel Club Licensed Agility Shows, three of which must have been gained in agility (not jumping) classes, and are not eligible for Grades 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6. Lower Height Option. Societies may offer the Lower Height Option to all dogs in that height category and may be offered at all grades. It is to be run as part of any Standard class as defined in the regulations and must be clearly identified in the schedule. Each relevant class will have two heights with a change part way through to raise/lower the jump heights and may extend/reduce the length of the long jump and width of the rising spread, within the permitted ranges, and competitors must run at their entered height. The order in which the heights will run must be detailed on the ring cards/ring plan. There will be only one course walking at the start of the class. In a class where the Lower Height Option is available show organisers may offer one set of awards by combining the results of each height or may offer separate awards for each height category. Competitors will be allowed to walk the course set at Small, Medium or Large height without their dog(s) before the class begins. Hurdles may be raised/lowered during the course walking time if multiple heights are offered within the same class. When the Lower Height Option is scheduled a dog may only be entered at either the Full Height or the Lower Height and it cannot compete at a

different height in any other class at that competition, including special classes. For these purposes a competition shall be defined as all classes covered within the same schedule. Special Classes; Allsorts: Open to dogs not entered in any standard class at the show. Heights will be set at Micro, Small & Medium. You may choose on the day the height you wish to compete at. The Agility class will have a lower a-frame set at 1.33m to apex and lower dog walk, and no see saw, tyre or weaves. These classes will be nice flowing courses. Helter Skelter; Open to all dogs, the course with be flowing and no weaves. Power & Speed; Complete all the contact equipment in your own time without a fault and it s a race against the clock over a jumping course! DOGS IN CARS ON HOT DAYS Your dog is vulnerable and at risk during hot weather and the Kennel Club offers the following guidance to help guide you through the do s and don ts travelling to and whilst at KC licensed events. When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy holiday route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams. If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all. The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water available to drink. Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog. When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle. Keep the dog in the shade take your own shade for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated. Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths of time. Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire results. Please look after your dog s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILILTY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED. Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise. Directions to venue; Directions from the Humber Bridge After crossing the river take the first slip road sign-posted Barton and Winterton (A1077) and take the 3rd exit at the slip road roundabout. Follow this road through the village of South Ferriby, past the cement works and along the side of the river. As the road leaves the side of the river you will approach some very sharp bends in the road. On one of these bends take a left turn sign-posted Appleby and Broughton. Take the 2nd turning on your right sign-posted Winterton. The venue is ¼ mile on your right hand side. If you reach the mini roundabout you have gone too far. From the A15 (Lincoln, Newark, and A1 South etc) At the junction with the M180 take the 2nd exit at the roundabout signposted A18 Scunthorpe, Brigg and Broughton. Now proceed to ***** From the East (Grimsby etc) Leave the M180 at junction 4 and take the 3rd exit at the roundabout signposted A18 Scunthorpe, Brigg and Broughton. Now proceed to ***** From the West (M1, M18, M62 etc) Leave the M180 at junction 4 and take the 1st exit at the roundabout signposted A18 Scunthorpe, Brigg and Broughton. Now proceed to *****

***** At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit sign-posted Broughton. At the mini-roundabout in Broughton Village bear left sign-posted scenic drive. In approx. 2.5 miles you will reach a railway crossing. Care is needed here as the crossing is very uneven.
