Paws Agility Club Jersey Show Information Welcome to the Easter Show hosted by Paws Agility Club Jersey, the show will be run over 2 days and is being held at the Jersey Accommodation & Activity Centre, Rue de la Pouclee et des Quatre Chemins, St Martin, where this fabulous venue allows camping and also indoor accommodation, including dogs. They will also be providing onsite catering during the day. As usual all Paws Agility Club Jersey shows can be entered online via SWAP Jersey www.jersey.swap-live.com It is also more cost effective to enter online and is a lot quicker and easier. As usual we will be asking everyone to help a little, then no one needs to do a lot. Please detail on the entry form what you would prefer to do. Please note that dogs must be kept on a lead, except whilst in the ring or exercise area at the venue. The maximum speed throughout the entire showground is 5mph, which is a walking pace, this is for everyone s safety, so please observe this carefully. Class Definitions Small Dogs*: For dogs measuring 350mm (1ft 1.75ins) or under at the withers. Height of jumps - 350mm (1ft 1.75ins) or 250mm (9.7ins) for Lower Height Option Medium Dogs*: For dogs measuring over 350mm (1ft 1.75ins) and measuring 430mm (1ft 5ins) or under at the withers. Height of jumps - 450mm (1ft 5.7ins) or 350mm (1ft 1.75ins) for Lower Height Option Large Dogs*: For dogs measuring over 430mm (1ft 5ins) at the withers. Height of jumps - 650mm (2ft 1.6ins) or 550mm (1ft 9.6ins) for Lower Height Option Grade A: For dogs which have not won 2 classes in grade A and/or combined classes (clear rounds only, one of which must be an agility round) at a Limit or Open Agility show. Also for dogs which are eligible to compete in grades 1 or 2 at a UK Kennel Club licensed Open Agility show, plus dogs that are grade 3, due to the owner or handler having won into grade 3 due to wins with other dogs, but have yet to win a class at grade 3. For dogs which are eligible to compete in level 1 at a FCI licenced Agility show (France 1er Degre). Also for dogs that are eligible to compete in Beginners or Novice at UK Agility (UKA) Performance level. For the purpose of determining these grades, Steeplechase UKA levels are not a consideration. *Lower Height Option is available at this show for all Height Options and all grades. It will be run as part of any listed class as defined, a dog may only be entered at either the Full height or at the Lower Height and cannot compete at a different height in any class at this competition. Each relevant class will have two heights with a change part way through to the higher/lower jump heights and competitors must run at their entered height. There will be one set of awards by combining the results of each height for each listed class. Grade B: For dogs which have won 2 classes in grade A and/or combined classes (clear rounds only, one of which must be an agility round) at a Limit or Open show. For dogs which are not eligible to compete in grade A above, plus dogs which are eligible to compete in level 2 or 3 at FCI licenced Agility shows (France 2 ème or 3 ème Degre). Also for dogs that are eligible to compete in Senior or Champ at UK Agility (UKA) Performance level. For the purpose of determining these grades, Steeplechase UKA levels are not a consideration. For those who compete at both UKA and UK Kennel Club levels, then the higher level of the 2 organisations is to be taken as that dog's competitive level. Special Any Size: Open to dogs that are not entered in any of the above classes on the day. This class is aimed at veterans, dogs that are unable to jump full height etc. (this also includes level D in France). Jumping classes will have no weaves or tyre, agility classes will have no tyre. (Any dogs that enter this class at this show will still be eligible to enter other size classes at future shows). Maximum height of jumps: Large dogs and France level D 450mm / Small/Medium dogs 250mm Agility in Jersey: This show is run under the Federation Canine Channel Islands (FCCI) Agility Regulations. Any wins at this show do not count towards any progression levels at any UK Kennel Club, UK Agility (UKA) or FCI licensed shows. Entry Fees per class Online: 3.20 / Postal: 3.50
Rules & Regulations 1. Dogs entered at FCCI agility regulations Shows must have an identification number, either a microchip number or registered number with another body. The identification number will be required for each entry 2. Entry fees per class: Online: 3.20 / Postal: 3.50 3. Internet entries may be made online via: www.jersey.swap-live.com 4. The Committee reserves to itself the right to refuse entries, provided there is a valid reason. 5. Dogs under 18 calendar months of age on the day of the competition are not eligible to compete. 6. No person shall carry out punitive correction or harsh handling of a dog at any time within the boundaries of the Show. 7. Dogs must not wear any type of slip, half-slip collar or lead when under test. A flat, close fitting, leather or webbing collar is permitted, providing the only attachment is a plain identification panel as an integral part of the collar i.e. not attached by a ring. 8. Should a judge be unable to fulfil the appointment to judge the Committee reserves the right to appoint another judge. 9. No competitor shall impugn the decision of the judge or judges. 10. There is no show sponsor. 11. FCCI agility regulations standard marking rules apply. 12. Height of hurdles will be standard, except as detailed in the class definitions section of the schedule. 13. The height limit for dogs. a. Large Dogs - For dogs measuring over 430mm (1ft 5ins) at the withers. b. Medium Dogs - For dogs measuring over 350mm (1ft 1.75ins) and measuring 430mm (1ft 5ins) or under at the withers. c. Small Dogs - For dogs measuring 350mm (1ft 1.75ins) or under at the withers. Other variations are catered for at this show as stipulated in the class definitions section of the schedule. 14. Judges at an Agility Show may not handle a dog at the Show in the class(es) they are judging. 15. Removal of dogs from Competition: Following discussion between the show management and/or a veterinary surgeon, a dog shall be prevented from competing and/or removed from an Agility Show if it is: a. Suffering from any infectious diseases or contagious disease. b. Interfering with the safety or chance of winning of an opponent. c. Of such temperament or is so much out of control as to be a danger to the safety of any person or other animal. d. Likely to cause suffering to the dog if it continues competing. The circumstances of such a removal shall be recorded in the competition/show Incident Book. 16. In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including 25 days before the start of the competition ( 7 th March 2017) shall be counted when entering for any class. For these purposes a competition shall be defined as all classes covered within the same schedule. In the event that a dog becomes eligible for the next grade at a particular show, after the entry for that show has been sent, it is the competitor s responsibility to notify the show secretary at least 14 days before the date of the show. The dog will then be moved into the appropriate class(es) for the next grade. The dog must be moved into the corresponding number of classes as were entered at the lower grade. If there are fewer or no classes available for the next grade the competitor will be offered a refund of the relevant entry fees. 17. Should circumstances so dictate the Society, in consultation with the Judges, may alter arrangements as necessary. 18. In the event that the show is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, the club/society will refund fees, less reasonably incurred expenses, on receipt of a stamped, addressed envelope submitted within 1 month of the show date. 19. Except for mobility aids, nothing shall be carried in the hand while the dog is under test and food shall not be given to a dog whilst in the ring - elimination. 20. Separate entry forms must be completed by each competitor and must be signed by the competitor or his authorised agent in accordance with provisions specified thereon. Entry forms must be accompanied with the appropriate fees. 21. Competition of dogs suffering from Contagious or Infectious Disease - No dogs suffering from infectious or contagious disease or having been exposed to such disease during the period of 21 days prior to the Competition may compete. 22. A pay on the day class may be held if time permits. 23. Late entries may be accepted on the day, however it will depend on volume of entries already received. The entry fee will be approximately fifty per cent higher than the original entry fee. 24. Welfare of Dogs - A competitor whose dog is entered at a FCCI agility regulations event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not knowingly put their dogs health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission or otherwise.
