Monday AUGUST 8 th 11:00 4:30 P.M. On August 8 h, the State Fair once again hosts its annual World of Dogs Day at the Fair. This is a one day event promoting all breeds of our canine friends. This event is held in the State Fair coliseum from 11:00 to 4:30 P.M. The event features over 20 breed clubs with booth displays promoting their breed, along with a center ring demonstration area. During the course of the day, there will be team obedience competition, a parade of breeds, fly ball competition, an obstacle course and more. As many of you are aware, the GSDCW maintains a booth during this day that needs to be manned by at least 2 people and their four-legged friend. We try to schedule the manning of the booth so that no one has to spend more than 1-2 hours in the booth at a time. There will be a sign up sheet for times posted in the clubhouse. One of the more critical times we need help is late afternoon from 3:00 4:30 P.M., plus if you can lend a hand for tearing down the booth, which happens at 4:30 P.M. Please, come help your fellow club members by volunteering this day. *****IMPORTANT***** A new rule has been started this year. You MUST have a copy of your Rabies certificate & a dog entry card (??) to enter the State Fair grounds. (see Paulette Gallatin & Diane Stefonich for cards if they are needed, unsure at time of article) One final and important item. Since there will be literally thousands of visitors to the coliseum mingling with dogs and people, it is imperative that only dogs with good sound temperament attend. Any questions regarding the booth can be directed to Joe Ziino 920-907-1154, Paulette Gallatin or Carol Lumley. Please clear your calendar for that Monday. As soon as the times for the events are finalized, signup sheets will be posted in the clubhouse.

by Joe Ziino May 30 th found the GSDCW at our annual Menomonee Falls village Memorial Day Parade. The parade as usual was a big success with a good part of the village residents lining the streets. An enthusiastic crowd greeted us especially as we mingled along the sidelines allowing the children to pet our dogs. After the parade we returned to Diane Stefonich's house for some relaxing and good food. Thanks Diane for the use of your house. Carmel Nursing Home. This was our 22 nd year we have been putting on demonstrations on Father s Day for Mt Carmel and it seems they never get tired of having us back. We performed for a large crowd of residents and their family members. We had a good turnout of dogs and handlers for this event and we presented our demonstration of obedience and agility. For those of you who have never attended one of our programs, we provide an overview of how we train our friends, at the same time providing the audience with an entertaining program. Our program consists of general healing as a group, followed by jumping exercises from open dogs and utility work from our UD dogs. We followed our training program with an agility demonstration. Our four-legged friends as usual did a great job at this event demonstrating their obedience and agility prowess, along with providing some good therapy work before and after the demonstrations.
