Notes Data was extracted from the corporate Stolen Pets Database which in turn gets its data from CRIS MIS. The Stolen Pets Database is updated on a monthly basis and was last updated on 05/01/2018. Data was extracted on 30/01/18 for the period 01/01/2013 to 31/12/2013. Data is a count of pets recorded on property screens. Note that multiple items of property (pets) can be recorded on a single property screen. For the purposes of the Stolen Pets Database, each property screen is individually read to determin the true count of pets on that screen. Therefore, this data is more accurate than a raw count of property screens which is the standard methodology. Breed is a free text field on CRIS MIS and so is open to spelling mistakes and interpretations, and only contains as much information as the officer enters, which in turn is governed by how much information the officer is given. It may be the case that certain breeds presented on separate rows in this data may be considered to be the same breed by other people. The recovery status field within CRIS was used to determine whether the dog was recovered or not.
