Bloat 18 Specialty Shows Candids Crafts Health info Farm Dog Certification..in a Bulldog newsletter? Read on... The Farm Dog Certified test provides for a series of twelve exercises that represent situations a farm dog would encounter in a typical farm environment. The basic test requirements are designed to emphasize a dog s ability of self-control, confidence and trust necessary to succeed in any canine/human partnership. These traits and foundational training are vital to a working farm dog. The FDC program provides an opportunity for all dogs to apply their basic training in a novel environment, demonstrating their natural capability and trainability to work in partnership with their human companions. The Farm Dog Certified test is open to all dogs. To read more, go to the AKC website!

Page 20 Article courtesy of TheDogPlace.org As always, this information is not to be used in place of your veterinarian s advice. One of my Bulldogs bloated recently. It terrified me to see her so swollen and having difficulty breathing. I was not prepared and didn t really know what to do. As luck would have it, it was closing time at my vet s and they said get her to the ER. That was a nervewrecking 20 mile trip and I did not know if she would survive. The ER staff worked quickly and was able to release some of the gas before they prepped her for surgery. Luckily, this story has a happy ending as she survived the surgery and is doing well. Robin Stowell.
