JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION (SUNDAY ONLY~PCBC) Novice Class - For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Open Class - For Boys and Girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show and who, at the time entries close, have won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Master Class: This class will be for boys and girls who are at least 9 years old and under 18 years on the day of the show, and who have won 10 Best Junior wins with competition. The calendar for this class will be consistent with the eligibility dates for the AKC Eukanuba National Championship. All Juniors Meeting the criteria for this class are required to enter the Master Class and may change their entry the day of the show if entries have already closed. Once the eligibility time frame for that year has passed all participants return to the Open Class to compete for the following year. BITCHES IN SEASON ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO COMPETE. EACH DOG ENTERED MUST BE OF THE BREED FOR WHICH THIS SHOW IS HELD. Junior Handlers must put their Junior Handler s number on the entry blank. To obtain a Junior Handler number, call the American Kennel Club (919) 816-3776 or E-mail at juniors@akc.org. Notice: Be sure all information for Junior Showmanship Classes is entered on the front and back of the entry form. By signing the entry form, certification is given that the Junior Showman does not now, and will not at any time, act as an agent/ handler for pay while continuing to compete in Junior Showmanship. SWEEPSTAKES ~Thursday (BCGSD) & Saturday (PCBC) Sweepstakes will be judged prior to the Regular Classes and Junior Showmanship and is open to breeders and owners of bulldogs that on the day of the show are at least 6 months of age and under 18 months of age. Professional Handlers may show their OWN DOGS ONLY. A Champion of Record may not be entered or shown. Each dog, bitch MUST be entered in a Regular Class at the same show. Entry fee is $15 for each dog, bitch and entries shall be made at the same time and on the same entry form as Regular Classes. Indicate Sweepstakes and the age division in the space provided for Additional Classes. NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS Bulldogs are expected to be judged on a ramp. No dogs or puppies are to be sold at the show site. 1. Entries must be submitted on an American Kennel Club (AKC) Official Entry Form or exact copy (both front & back) and must be signed. Owners are responsible for errors on entry blanks. The Club and/or its Show Secretary assumes no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or owner's Agent entering a dog or a class for which the dog is not eligible to compete or entering the same dog twice. 2. Exhibitors are advised to make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this premium list. Rule books are available from www.akc.com. 3. A recording fee of 50 cents and a Event Service Fee of $3 will be required for each dog entered at any licensed or member club show. This recording fee is to be collected by the show-giving club and paid to the American Kennel Club. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the recording fee is to be collected on the first entry only. (AKC Rule, Chapter 14, Sec. 2). 4. Judging programs will be emailed to the address given on the entry blank. If not received within 3 days prior to the show, notify the Show Secretary. 5. The hosting club may decline an entry for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove a dog on account of disease, viciousness or other causes, and no one shall have any claim or recourse against the club or any official thereof. 6. The hosting clubs may cancel any events due to extreme weather conditions. 7. The club is not responsible for loss or injury to anyone attending this show. 8. The club will not be responsible for the loss of or damage to any dog exhibited, regardless of the cause. It is distinctly understood that every dog at this show is in the care and custody and control of his owner or handler during the entire time the dog is on the show premises. 9. No dogs will be allowed in the show area except those entered in the show. 10. Dogs must be ready for judging. Judges will not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging ring when their classes are called to be judged. 11. Dogs may arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging will be excused. 12. All dogs must be on a leash or confined to crates except when being judged. 13. Do not leave any dogs in closed vehicles. 14. A dog which, according to its owners' records, has completed the requirements for a Championship after the closing of entries for the show, but whose Championship is unconfirmed, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to Best of Breed, provided this transfer is made by the Show Secretary at least one half hour prior to the start of any Conformation show. 15.Junior Handlers who win a third Novice Class after the Closing of entries may transfer to the Open Class provided that this transfer is made by the Show Secretary at least one half-hour prior to the start of Junior Showmanship. 16. Crates and grooming tables are not allowed within 10 feet of the rings. 17. Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded in the judging rings. In the event of a discrepancy from the published prize list, the Show Secretary should be advised at once. Trophies not claimed on the day of show are forfeited. 18. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management, it is impossible to open or to complete the show, no refund of entry fee will be made. NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS (cont.) 19. Fees must be submitted in U.S. funds. Checks must be drawn on U.S. accounts. 20. Returned checks & declined payments MUST BE MADE GOOD before the dog will be allowed in the ring. Returned checks & declined payments are subject to a fine of $25 in addition to the entry fees for which the check was issued. The fine and fees must then be paid in cash, money order or cashier s check. 21. Entry fee shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by veterinarian or judge or barred from competition by action of Show Committee or because it has been entered incorrectly. There is no refund of entry fee for duplicate entry. 22. There will be a $2 administration fee charged for cancellation of entry prior to closing of entries. Refunds will be reduced by any applicable transaction fees. 23. All rights to advertise, publicize, televise, photograph or otherwise promote this event are vested in each individual club on its show date. All persons and animals on the Show Site at any time while the shows are in progress do, by attending and/or participating therein, grant to each club the right to photograph, televise, audiotape, or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent. 24.Exhibitors must not wear anything in the ring identifying them with any club or organization. 25. Parents and/or guardians are responsible for the actions of their children. CARE OF SHOW SITE Care of SHOW SITE facility is of utmost importance to the clubs hosting these events. Whenever it shall be determined that misuse of a hotel/ motel room or show site may have occurred, the AKC Event Show Committee shall convene for the express purpose of an on site inspection of the area in question. Misuse of SHOW SITE includes but is not limited to the following. 1. Smoking in non-smoking areas or rooms. 2. Allowing dogs to relieve themselves in areas other than those designated for that purpose. 3. Failure to clean up after any dog in your care in any area at any time. 4. All dogs must be crated in rooms. Bathrooms are not considered a crate area and are not to be used to house dogs. At the discretion of the AKC Event Show Committee or the hotel s housekeeping staff, rooms may be inspected at any time. In the event of a complaint should it be determined that destruction and/ or misuse of property has occurred, the following steps shall be taken to correct the matter. 1. Monetary restitution shall immediately be made to the hotel/motel by the violator(s). 2. The person(s) found in violation of the hotel/motel rules or AKC rules or rules of the hosting clubs shall be asked to leave the premises immediately. 3.
