Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger From Harry Potter By: Andie C. For this assignment, I chose to compare Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger from the book and movie series Harry Potter. I am going to be comparing their appearance, personalities, actions, motives, and family background information. Ron and Hermione are both students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the first book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer s Stone, Ron and Hermione were both first year students at the Hogwarts. At first they did not get along because they were so different, but they soon became friends because of their similarities that brought them together.
Appearance Ron and Hermione s appearance is similar and different in many ways. For example, Ron has red hair and Hermione has brown hair, but they both have curly hair. Ron has hazel green eyes and Hermione has brown eyes. Another difference is that Ron has freckles unlike Hermione. Ron and Hermione's appearance is similar in ways too. Ron and Hermione both belong to the Gryffindor house, which means they both wear black robes with a red and yellow tie to represent the colors of the Gryffindor. Also when it is cold they wear red and yellow striped scarf. Personalities
Ron and Hermione have similar and different personalities. A difference is that Ron likes to fool around a lot. For example, Ron jokes around with Harry and passes notes around in class. Hermione on the other hand is more focused and does not like breaking the rules especially when it comes to school work. In Hermione's O.W.L.S (tests) she receives Outstandings except for one Exceeds Expectations. Ron on the other hand does just enough to get by. I think Ron and Hermione are both responsible because out of all the Gryffindor students in the fifth year, the professors chose Ron and Hermione as Gryffindor prefects which are the leaders of each house. They were chosen because Ron and Hermione are good leaders. One example is when Ron and Hermione both helped lead the Defence Against the Dark Arts group where they taught all the students special spells. Actions and Motives Ron and Hermione both have similar and different actions and motives. Ron is impulsive unlike Hermione. He does not think about what the consequence are before he does anything. For example, Ron never pays attention in Divination class and ends up failing that class. His impulsiveness often ended up getting him in lots of detention. Hermione is the opposite of Ron, very cautious. She thinks things through before she does anything. Hermione hates to get in
trouble and is upset when she does not get the highest grade in her tests. Ron and Hermione are both brave however. In every book they go on a life risking adventure and always come back safely. For example, in the first book they help Harry by using their skills to get through each door. They needed to solve a riddle to get to the end to save Hogwarts. Ron helped beat the other team in the chess match, and Hermione used her smarts to figure out the potion riddle. In all the books they were both brave to be able to build up the courage to do the things not only for themselves but for other people including protecting the whole wizarding world from the evil wizard Voldemort. Background and Family In the wizarding world witches and wizards will think of you as a Full Blood, Half Blood, and Mud Blood. If you are not a witch or wizard you were born from regular people they call you a Muggle. If your parents are wizard and witch you are called a Full Blood like Ron. Hermione's parents are muggles so she is a muggle born also known as a Mud Blood.
Conclusion Ron and Hermione have a very interesting story how they became friends. At first their differences set them apart, but they realized how alike they are which drew them to become friends. Thank You!
