Under this division come all chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese, guineas, pigeons, and dogs. 2. All poultry must be removed before 9:00 A.M. on Sunday, August 31, 2014. 3. Poultry showing symptoms of disease shall be excluded from exhibition. 4. For judging time, SEE Schedule of Judging Times. 5. Only properly entered specimens and specimens listed under the conditions of the fair s premium book will be accepted. 6. Efforts will be made to coop singly. Right is reserved to place in one coop more than one bird of the same variety if owned by the same exhibitor. 7. The American Standard of Perfection of the American Poultry Association and the Bantam Standard of the American Bantam Association will govern poultry judging. 8. Premiums will be paid only on awards indicated by the judge s records. 9. The management reserves the right to reduce the number of entries from one party if the cooping facilities are exhausted. 10. No changes in entries may be made after the Close of Entry Registration, July 25. 11. No exhibitor shall handle his exhibit without the permission of the fair superintendent. 12. All advertisement shall be withheld until after judging and then may be posted only with the approval of the fair superintendent. 13. Any exhibitor not satisfied with the feed and water facilities provided by the fair may bring his own equipment, properly identified. 14. Section 8 Pigeons 1. No specimen is to be handled by anyone except the owner, the judges, or members of the fair management unless permission is granted by the owner. 2. Young specimens shall not be considered eligible for competition unless they have reached two-thirds mature development. 3. Exhibitors names or markings shall not be placed on the display coops prior to judging. After awards are made, advertising suitable to the management may be placed on cages. 4. It is very important that each bird is banded with some type of band. Any bird not showing some type of band will not be judged and will automatically be ineligible for any award. 5. All young birds must be banded with a seamless recognized band of the current year. SPECIAL NOTE: When cooping in your birds, be sure to MARK BAND NUMBERS ON COOP TAG F EACH BIRD. 6. Any contingency that may arise and is not covered by these rules will be adjusted by the whose action will be final. 7. OFFICIAL OWNER ENDSED POULTRY HEALTH CERTIFICATE F ALL EXHIBITION POULTRY, WATERFOWL, UPLAND GAME BIRDS, RATITES, AND PIGEONS A completed owner-endorsed poultry health certificate must accompany all poultry, waterfowl, upland game birds, ratites, and pigeons to an exhibition. The certificate must be presented to exhibition management prior to cooping of the birds. This certificate must be endorsed with the bird owner s signature. The following information is required: 1. Avian Influenza Clean Testing and Verification. All samples must be collected by a Certified Poultry Technician or an Accredited Veterinarian: All poultry, waterfowl, upland game birds, and ratites, (pigeons excluded) for exhibition must originate from a flock in good standing in the Pennsylvania Avian Influenza Monitored Flock program, or from a flock in good standing in the NPIP Avian Influenza Clean program (the flock must be participating in the NPIP AI Clean program-it is not considered to be a clean flock if only originating from a clean breeder flock or hatchery), and the birds must be accompanied by the most recent negative test report (copy acceptable). The NPIP or AI MF number must be noted on the report; The birds must originate from a flock in which a minimum of 30 birds, 3 weeks of age or older, were tested negative for avian influenza within the 6 months prior to opening date of the exhibition and the birds must be accompanied by the negative test report (copy acceptable). If there are fewer than 30 birds in the flock, test all birds. For ducks and geese, cloacal swab samples must be collected for testing, and the swabs may be tested using virus isolation (ducks and geese) or PCR (domestic ducks only) techniques. 23

B. Pullorum-Typhoid Clean Testing and Verification (pigeons and waterfowl excluded). All samples must be collected by a Certified Poultry Technician or an Accredited Veterinarian: All poultry, upland game birds, and ratites (pigeons and waterfowl excluded) must originate from a flock in good standing in the NPIP Pullorum-Typhoid Clean Program or from a flock in good standing in the PA Pullorum Equivalent Program and the birds must be accompanie d by the most recent negative test report (copy acceptable). Avian Influenza Clean Testing and Verification: All samples must be collected by a Certified Poultry Technician or an Accredited Veterinarian. Poultry, waterfowl, upland game birds, and ratites (pigeons excluded) shall only be allowed into the Commonwealth and the exhibition after meeting one of the following requirements: The birds originate from a flock in good standing in the NPIP Avian Influenza Clean program (the flock must be participating in the NPIP AI Clean program-it is not considered to be a clean flock if only originating from a clean breeder flock or hatchery), and the shipment is accompanied by a USDA form 9-3 or equivalent Department-approved form; The birds originate from a flock that participates in an equivalent avian influenza monitoring program and the shipment is accompanied by a document from the state, nation, or province of origin indicating participation; The birds originate from a flock in which a minimum of 30 birds, 3 weeks of age or older, were tested negative for avian influenza within the 30 days prior to opening date of the exhibition and the birds must be accompanied by the negative test report (copy acceptable). If there are fewer than 30 birds in the flock, test all birds. For ducks and geese, cloacal swab samples must be collected for testing, and the swabs may be tested using virus isolation (ducks and geese) or PCR (domestic ducks only) techniques. B. If the average weight is within one ounce, either above 27 or below 24 ounces, cut 8 points. If more than one ounce, either above or below, cut 16 points. UNIFMITY OF COL All eggs in the entry should be the same shade of color. If white, all eggs should be chalked white and free from creamy or tinted coloring. If brown, eggs should be uniformly the same shade of color. A cut of 1/4 to 1/2 point per egg may be made according to actual shade of each egg and how well it conforms to uniformity of shade with the other eggs in the dozen. UNIFMITY OF SHAPE Each egg to conform as nearly as possible in shape. Extremes should be avoided. Cut 1/4 to 1/2 point for each egg off in shape or ridged. SHELL TEXTURE The shell should be strong and of uniform thickness. Cut 1/4 to 1/2 point per egg for shells that and for shells that are porous, mottled or blind check.
