AKC Rules, Regulations and Guidelines are available on the American Kennel Club Web Site, www.akc.org AGREEMENT I (we) agree that the club holding this event has the right to refuse this entry for cause which the club shall deem sufficient. In consideration of the acceptance of this entry and of the holding of this event and of the opportunity to have the dog judged and to win prizes, ribbons, or trophies, I (we) agree to hold the AKC, the event-giving club, their members, directors, governors, officers, agents, superintendents or event secretary, and the owner and/or leaser of the premises and any provider of services that are necessary to hold this event, and any employees or volunteers of the aforementioned parties, and any AKC approved judge, judging at this event, harmless from any claim for loss or injury which may be alleged to have been caused directly or indirectly to any person or thing by the act of this dog while in or about the event premises or grounds or near any entrance thereto, and I (we) personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim; and I (we) further agree to hold the aforementioned parties harmless from any claim for loss, injury or damage to this dog. (Variety) if you are entering a dog of breed in which there are varieties for show purposes, please designate the particular variety you are entering, i.e., Cocker Spaniel (solid color black, ASCOB, parti-color), Beagles (not exceeding 13 in., over 13 in. but not exceeding 15 in.), Dachshunds (longhaired, smooth, wirehaired), Collies (rough, smooth), Bull Terriers (colored, white), Manchester Terriers (standard, toy), Chihuahuas (smooth coat, long coat), English Toy Spaniels (King Charles and Ruby, Blenheim and Prince Charles), Poodles (toy, miniature, standard). 2. The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs which, according to their owner s records, have completed the requirements for a championship, but whose championships are unconfirmed. The showing of unconfirmed Champions in Best of Breed competition is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where the dog completed the requirements for a championship. 3. (Event Class) Consult the classification in this premium list. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e. age division, color division, weight division. 4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name. If the event class in which you are entering your dog is divided, then, in addition to designating the class, specify the particular division of the class in which you are entering your dog, i.e. age division, color division, weight division. 4. A dog must be entered in the name of the person who actually owned it at the time entries for an event closed. If a registered dog has been acquired by a new owner it must be entered in the name of its new owner in any event for which entries closed after the date of acquirement, regardless of whether the new owner has received the registration certificate indicating that the dog is recorded in his name. MULTIPLE DOG NON REGULAR CLASSES STUD DOG AND BROOD BITCH CLASSES: As the judge s decision will be based on the merits of more than one dog or bitch, no one of the dogs or bitches making up the entry judged first in the class will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. The stud dog or brood bitch must appear in the ring with the get or produce and be entered in this class. Neutered dogs or spayed bitches may be entered in the class. Owner of the Stud Dog or Brood Bitch does not need to be the owner of the get or produce. Stud Dog and Get or Brood Bitch and Produce constitute one entry. STUD DOG CLASS: For dogs and no more than two of their get. Get must be entered in one regular class at this show. The award will be based on the merits of the get. BROOD BITCH CLASS: For bitches and no more than two of their produce. Produce must be entered in one regular class at this show. The award will be based on the merits of the produce. BRACE CLASS: Shall be for two Whippets, irrespective of sex, with at least ONE owner the same. At least one brace Whippet must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed, or in some non-regular class other than Brace. Those desiring to show in Brace must write BRACE on the entry form in the space provided for Additional Classes. NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS 1. A recording fee of.50 cents per dog and an AKC Event Service Fee of $3.00 per entry will be required for each dog entered at any Licensed or Member Club Show. These fees are to be collected by the show-giving Club and paid to the American Kennel Club. If a dog is entered in more than one class at the show, the fees are to be collected on the first entry only. 2. Entries must reach show secretary, Jackie Lawrence, 2070 E. Melrose St., Gilbert, Az., 85297, Wednesday, February 11, 2015, 9:00 PM MST. Fees must accompany entries. 3. The club and/or Show Secretary assume no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or agent of the owner. 4. The club and/or the Show Secretary assume no responsibility for the owner or owner s agents entering a dog in a class which the dog is not eligible to compete, or for entering the same dog twice. 5. There is no refund of entry fee for duplicate entry. There will be a $2.00 fee charge for cancellation of entry prior to closing of entries. 6. Foreign exhibitors must submit entries with checks drawn on U.S. accounts or with international money orders in U.S. funds. 7. Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event the dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by veterinarian or judge, barred from competition by action of the Bench Show Committee. 8. Entry fees will NOT be refunded if it is impossible to open or complete the show because of riots, civil disturbance, fires, an act of God, public emergency, acts of public enemy, or other acts or cause beyond the control of the club. 9. Arizona Whippet Assoc. may decline any entries for cause and may refuse to receive or may remove any dog on account of disease, viciousness or other cause, and no one shall have any claim against the Club or any official thereof. 10. Returned checks or post dated checks do not constitute a valid entry fee. The Show Secretary will add a collection fee of $35.00 to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks for the same exhibitor will result in their being put on a CASH ONLY basis. The returned check MUST BE MADE GOOD by cash or money order BEFORE the dog will be allowed in the ring. 11. Entries not on official AKC Entry forms and photocopies of entry forms without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side of the Official AKC Entry Form are not acceptable. No entry shall be made and no entry shall be accepted which specifies a condition to acceptance. 12. Owners are to have their dogs ready to go into the ring promptly, so judging will not be delayed. Dogs need only to be present for their judging. Dogs not needed for further judging may be excused. Owners of dogs or the handlers of the dogs alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. This means it is not the responsibility of the ring steward, nor any agent of the show-giving club to locate any dog, its owner or handler. Waiting for dogs is a courtesy extended to owners and handlers. There is no American Kennel Club or club rule requiring a judge to wait for an owner or handler to Committee, or because the dog is ineligible to compete due to being entered incorrectly. 13. Owners must familiarize themselves with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this premium list. The club, its Show Secretary or their employees will not be responsible for the loss of or damage to any dog exhibited, whether the result of accident or other cause and in addition assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage or injury sustained by an exhibitor or handler. It is distinctly understood that every dog at these shows is in the care and custody and control of his owner or handler during the entire time the dog is on the show premises. 15. Arizona Whippet Association does not agree to arbitrate claims set forth on official AKC entry form for this event. 16. Dogs which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship after the closing of entries for the show but whose championships are unconfirmed, may be transferred from the regular classes to the Best of Breed Competition, provided this transfer is made by the Show Secretary at least one half hour prior to the start of the earliest judging at the Show. 17. There is no provision offered for unentered dogs at this show. PUPPIES UNDER SIX MONTHS OF AGE ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED FROM ENTRY ON TO THE SHOW SITE. 18. All Dogs present must be held on leash or confined to a crate except when being judges or when in exercise pen. 19. Trophies, prizes and cash will be awarded in the judging ring before the completion of the classes and breed to the person showing the dog. The Show Secretary is to be advised at once, in the event of any discrepancy. The Secretary and the Arizona Whippet Association disclaim any liability for cash prizes after the judging of the breed is over. All trophies must be claimed the day of show. None will be mailed. 20. Do not leave any dogs in closed vehicles. All persons attending this dog show hereby waive any claim for damages against the club, its members or agents in the event a vehicle must be entered in order to rescue a dog from overheating or suffocation due to improper ventilation. 21. THIS IS A SELF CLEANING SHOW. PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG 22. The welfare of an exhibitor s child is the responsibility of the exhibitor. It is expressly understood that the exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children at all times. 23. No practicing allowed in rings at any time. 24. Due to confined spaces, flexi-leads are not allowed on the grounds. 25.
