BARKS JUNE 2010 Monthly Newsletter of the Glenbard All-Breed Obedience Club MEMBERS BRAGS The first step towards a Champion Tracker title was earned by John Barnard and Fraulein Heidi Vom Sentry, now a Tracking Dog (TD). John and Heidi earned their TD at the Marshbanks Golden Retriever Club in southern Michigan on May 9, 2010. Heidi was only 9 months old at the time but according to one of the judges, Orrin Eldred, she was well prepared. John and Heidi got accolades from he and his co-judge Debra Huff. Heidi added a little humor and entertainment to her performance by leaping into the air like a kangaroo on a couple of her turns before committing, with no hesitation, to the new direction and finding her glove. She finished in 8 minutes with John huffing and puffing behind her. The pass meant so much more to both of us because we were accompanied by a wonderful member of our tracking group, Donna Eichman, who not only offered support and encouragement to John on his journey to the TD, but she earned her TD as well on Rommel. Rommel was a joy to watch as he methodically worked his way through the track and presented a very happy Donna with the glove at the end. Now on to TDX and VST for both of them. Submitted by Darlene Barnard Sue Hiller's Eli is now BISS CH/UKC BIS CH Beahives Vanillie RN CGC TDI. Eli went Best of Breed at the Great Lakes Bullmastiff Association's Regional Specialty on Saturday, May 29th in Kalamazoo MI. The total entry was 76 with 28 Specials. The Judge was Mrs. Michelle Billings. Eli was owner handled to this win.

4 GABOC AGILITY TRIAL, JUNE 5TH AND 6TH HELP WANTED, CONTACT DONNA AT 630-715-6325, or pdddmd@comcast.net health watch A little heat outside a car can quickly make it very hot inside. On a summer's day of only 85 degrees Fahrenheit, for example, even keeping the windows slightly open won't stop the inside temperature from climbing to 102 degrees in 10 minutes, and to 120 degrees in 20 minutes. A dog whose body temperature rises to 107-108 degrees will within a very short time suffer irreparable brain damage or even death. Any tips for health watch, please forward them to the editor!
