Beaver Pigeon and Bantam Club Presents 67 th Annual Show October 13 th 2018 Dodge Co. Fairgrounds Beaver Dam, WI Hosting: Plymouth Rock Fancier Club of America Special Meet, Ameraucana Breeders Club Meet, Silkie Bantam Club Meet & Cochins International Special Meet Show Rules and Regulations 1. Entry Fee is $3.00 per bird for juniors and open. Double poultry coops are $6.00 each. Correct fees must accompany your entry blank. Entry Must Be Postmarked By October 1st, 2018. Early entries are appreciated. All Entries Postmarked October 2nd-5 th will require a $20 Late Fee. No telephone entries. Make check or money order payable to Beaver Pigeon and Bantam Club. Poultry entry forms must include A) Premise ID number B) Proper Pullorum Typhoid testing papers including: a) NPIP Certification b) Wisconsin Certified Flock c) Wisconsin Associate Flock or d) Individual Bird test report. Please note that testing papers will not be returned. Any entry blank that is submitted without proper test reports will be returned to sender and all entry fees will be forfeited. 3. This is an all age show for pigeons and doves. Pigeon classes are old cock, old hen, young cock and young hen. Poultry classes are cock, hen, cockerel, and pullet (young birds are less than one year). Any poultry not stating large fowl or bantam fowl will be judged as large fowl. All pigeons must be seamless banded with all other bands removed before judging. Please double-check your entries to make sure they are correct. 4. Substitutions may only be made within the same class, color, age and sex as the original entry. 5. Chicken and Pigeon entries will be accepted from 6 to 8pm on Friday October 12 th. Doors open at 6:30am and all birds must be cooped by 8:45am Saturday October 13 th. Geese will be housed in the Hog barn, some distance from the main building. Geese will be penned in pairs unless otherwise specified. Geese may only be placed in their pens on Saturday morning. Exhibitors must assist us by providing security and are responsible for their birds during the show. Water and cups are provided. Judging begins at 9:00 am. 6. Birds will be released when awards are given on Saturday (approximately 3:00-5:00 pm). Ribbons are awarded to 3 rd place (upon request). 7. Junior entries will be judged in open competition and will also be eligible for junior awards. Please state on entry if junior. Age for junior is 18 years old or under as of January 1 st. Entries not identified as junior exhibitors will be considered as Open exhibitors. 8. The BPBC reserves the right to consolidate color classes within the breed (pigeon) to create competition. 9. The BPBC show committee reserves the right to move birds to the Champion Row. 10. The BPBC and its members will not be responsible for any loss, damage or injury and reserves the right to reject unhealthy or diseased birds and remove them from the showroom. 11. Interference with judging will not be allowed. For Sale signs may be posted on the coop after the judging is completed. 12. Failure to recognize any or all rules will exclude entry and any or all awards will be forfeited. 13. Exhibitors wishing to stay for the Swap on Sunday may leave their birds and are responsible for feeding, watering and consolidating their birds after the show. Any show bird left in the coop over night is the responsibility of the exhibitor and is left at the owner s risk. 14. Refreshments will be served both days. 15. This is an ABA-APA sanctioned show. Poultry Judges are Bart Pals and Don Karasek. Pigeon/Dove Judge is Stan Vercouteren. 16. See explanation of Swap Day in another section of this catalog. 17. Band numbers are not required on entry form for pigeons but must to be provided to judging clerk on day of show before judging begins.

Membership Application For 67 years, poultry and pigeon fanciers have been meeting, sharing and working together for the betterment of the fancy in the Beaver Pigeon and Bantam Club. This club is organized as a non-profit corporation, dedicated to the breeding and exhibition of fancy poultry and pigeons. The club meets for business, fun and exchange of poultry ideas. Active Members (help with set up/cleanup/raffle) are welcome to participate in the spring and fall swaps without charge. Dues are $10.00 for families and $1.00 for juniors (per calendar year) Set up for show will be Thursday, October 11 th starting at 3:30pm any additional help is always appreciated. Those that help with setup will be treated to pizza and soda. Registration for the contest must be done by 9:30am on the day of the show at the youth table. The starting time of the competition will be posted in the show room beginning with junior exhibitors. The contest is managed by the Wisconsin Junior Poultry Association. The WJPA collects $1.00 registration fee at the time of registration. 1. The categories for showmanship are as follows: Pre Junior Poultry/Pigeon Showmanship Up to 8 years as of January 1 Junior Poultry/Pigeon Showmanship 9-11 years as of January 1 Intermediate Poultry/Pigeon Showmanship 12-14 years as of January 1 Senior Poultry/Pigeon Showmanship 15-18 years as of January 1 Advanced Showmanship No age Limit Open to exhibitors of all ages who have achieved 3 or more Grand Champion Showmanship awards at any Wisconsin club show, county or state fair. All participants will receive a special insignia recognizing their membership in this motivated group of champions. 2. The score card for showmanship will be as follows: a. Appearance of the bird b. Appearance and attitude of the show person c. Showing and handling the bird d. Poultry Knowledge 3. Awards will be presented to the Champion and Reserve Champion in each age category. Class and Breed Awards Juniors compete with open show exhibitors for all other class and breed awards.

Awards Awards presentation will be held at the conclusion of judging. All awards must be picked up the day of show. The BPBC does NOT host a separate Junior Show for the youth. All junior entries are judged with the open entries making them eligible to earn the Open awards however, BPBC does sponsor additional awards for youth exhibitors. The Best in Show for Open and Youth Poultry will receive an Award and $30.00 cash The Reserve in Show for Open and Youth Poultry will receive $30.00 cash The Mike Smith Memorial Best in Show Pigeon will receive Award and $20.00 cash The Reserve in Show Pigeon will receive $10.00 cash The Beaver Pigeon and Bantam Club will award $15.00 to champion and $10.00 to the reserve champion to each of the following: Large Fowl, Bantam, Duck, and Goose. Rosettes will be awarded to the Champions and Reserve Champions in the Open to all the classes listed below. (must be 15 or more birds per class) Rosettes will be awarded to the Champions and Reserve Champions in the Youth to all the classes listed below. SATURDAY SWAP For the convenience of the exhibitors, the Beaver Pigeon and Bantam Club offers a small swap section on Saturday. You must be exhibiting at the show to sell in Saturday Swap. Space is limited, with top priority given to the show. Sellers are responsible for their own sale birds and must be prepared to move and consolidate at the end of the show day. Swap Section Cages $2 each. Outside Swap Area $7 Sellers Fee. All livestock and poultry sellers must have Premise ID Number. Poultry and other subject birds must have proper Pullorum Typhoid Testing papers, such as a) NPIP Certification b) Wisconsin Certified Flock c) Wisconsin Associate Flock or d) Individual Bird Test Report. Please note that testing papers will be collected and will not be returned. Sellers must also provide buyers with proper papers as well. Any Seller failing to comply with these requirements will be required to leave the premises. This is the state law. Please help the Club meet these requirements by having your papers ready to turn in.
