All Collie Herding Exhibitors, Herding Enthusiasts, and Collie Lovers!!! One of the purposes of the CCA Regional Herding Events is to encourage collie participation in herding as a sport, as a competition and as a job. To that end we want to invite all interested collie owners to attend our Regionals either to participate in the tests and trials or to learn about herding in all its aspects. If you have never tried your collie on herding, we are offering Herding Instinct Testing. If you have a collie who has already achieved titles but is getting too old to go on to higher levels, we have the Exhibition Only Class, tailor made for you. Practice sessions for A sheep classes are available on Friday, November 14. Email Becky Henson at Montara5@aol.com to reserve a spot. The cost is $20 per 15 minute slot. We will offer a cattle handling clinic on the course with handlers only, no dogs. $25 These cattle are exceptionally nice to work, and if you've ever wanted to try your Collie on cattle, here is your opportunity! Practice on Friday and learn how to place yourself to help your dog and how cattle respond to pressure. Linda Holloway will instruct. You must pre pay to hold a spot for the clinic. There will be an informal Ask the Judge round-table at dinner on Friday or Saturday evening. Email Becky Henson at Montara5@aol.com for more information. No cost. Michelle Frank needs support from all of us for the beautiful array of trophies she has for all three regionals! Even if you can t come this year, show your support for collie herding by offering a trophy. Email Michelle at eponamalamutes@yahoo.com to find out what is available. Those of you who are thinking you don t want to make a long drive at the end of October to enter just another herding trial should think again. There is no better place to experience the camaraderie of collie folks than at a collies only herding weekend. Bring your collie loving friends, load up the van and come on over to Missouri!! WE LL ROLL THE RUG OUT FOR YOU!!
