Day 3: Onward to the city of lakes: Udaipur Flying from Delhi into an idyllic abode; Udaipur is like a breath of fresh air. With marble palaces and shiny lakes nestled inside the green Aravali range, the town is like a splash of color in colorful Rajasthan that's brighter, tinged with the tones of local legends and lore. Narrow streets lined with vividly colored stalls, gardens, temples and palaces mirrored in the placid blue waters of Lake Pichola, add to the magic of Udaipur. Sita Recommends Sunset boat cruise on the shimmering waters As the sun takes dip behind the mountains, pouring out its bright orange and red into the sky reflecting off subtle shades on the lake Pichola, embarking on a boat ride with hills on both side and the sounds of roosting birds for your company is one of the many pleasures Udaipur has to offer.
Day 4: Udaipur: Vibrant and diverse Spend your day exploring the manifold facets of Udaipur. Walking to the charming havelis, Ghats and temples scattered around the lake, are some splendid excursions by foot. Those craving for some adventure; Hiking and horse backing in the plush environs of mountains, palaces and the lakes offer a new frontier. A stay here offers an immersive taste of a local life together with spectacular views of unobstructed wildlife. For a more rustic familiarity, highly recommend to step out to explore the grounds, the farmlands, watch villagers tending their fields, see the lives of various tribal communities and get an insight into the lives of village folk who live in complete harmony with nature.
Day 6: Jawai: Get inspired and explore! Here you get to enjoy an exclusive wildlife experience in the surroundings of sprawling granite hills, scrub and grasslands. Although, Leopards are Jawai's main draw, it is also home to aplenty bird life. A thriving population lives in this region and therefore the chances of spotting one here are possibly the highest in all of India especially with the camps expert guides and trackers to guide you! The violet evenings are to relax and unwind with a sundowner, with only the stars and campfire for your illumination and the humming sounds for your company, Jawai Bandh make a perfect base for a family bonding.
Day 7: Magnificence's home: Jodhpur After the sumptuous breakfast under the shiny sun at the camp, a journey by road carving through the low hills leads you to the city of Immense Mehrangarh, the muscular fort that sits over the Blue City of Jodhpur. A drop of life painted in blue is what is Jodhpur seen from far when you look down on the desolate Thar Dessert. These parts of the golden sands feel like they are caressed by the skies as Jodhpur is painted blue all over. Adding a romantic flair to Jodhpur, are its exquisite handicrafts, folk dances, music and the brightly attired people. Sita Recommends Let folk performers stir your soul As the day would melt into an inky darkness, sparkling bonfire, cheery women sporting dazzling colors with ornate jewelry, men in pride with bright turbans and bold moustache beckons a magical cultural evening. Quite a promising experience where the family and melodies come together, holding tall drinks for indulgence, dancing to the soulful rhythms of local folk beats, sharing stories behind living traditions, hearty laughter, is nothing but a joyous solace.
Day 8: The cradle of arts and crafts: Jaipur With so much kindness and so many flashing smiles, you say adios to Jodhpur and make your way up to the Pink city, Jaipur. 'Pink' is definitely a bold pick for a town and Jaipur flaunts it generously! Experience this extravagance in Jaipur's historical artefacts', prized monuments, bustling bazaars or even in her multi-colored turbaned villagers. With so much on offer, Jaipur is sure to fascinate you with her princely past and fascinating crafts. Good to Know How did people in olden times measure time, calculate the position of stars, planets and moon or forecast eclipse? Curious? Well, Jaipur takes pride in housing world's largest stone sundial.
Day 9: A tale of forts and palaces: Jaipur In the morning start your tour by visiting the magnificent Amber Fort. It was once the ancient capital of the Rajput Empire. From the road you can climb up to the fort in approximately 10 minutes but a jeep or elephant ride will spare you the trouble of walking up to the fortress. Once on the top, you can stroll through the sprawling complex of courtyards and halls. Many of the rooms have delightful wall paintings with precious stones and mirrors inlaid in the walls. Take in the small joys as you explore the jewels of Jaipur. From City Palace that is home to the former royal family to Jantar Mantar, the royal observatory upholding a fantastic aspect and the honeycomb Hawa Mahal staring the bazaar below. Sita Recommends Elephants up-close and personal Feed them while learning their feeding habits, and what they enjoy eating the most. Learn about the completely natural paint that is used to paint the thick elephant skin. Learn how to create a traditional painting on the elephants face. If you're not great at drawing don't worry, we can paint the outlines on their face if you like and then you fill in the gaps with the colors of your choice.
Day 10: Delight in the history and beauty of Taj Mahal: Agra En route Agra, Fatehpur Sikri is your next stop! On a balmy morning, journey further on the slender stretch along truckers, dawdling camels and cars, and suddenly - quite unexpectedly traffic coming to a halt is a common sight, as cows seem to be everywhere, left, right and center. And have a right of way. Meet Agra around midday; a town incredible for its UNESCO crowned sights. It may be clichéd but no Indian landmark embraces blue sky as enthusiastically as Taj Mahal, no matter which way the compass needle swings, you will find it striking from any and every angle.. Good to Know Taj Mahal gives out different colors at different time of the day. From shy pinkish hue at dawn that turns to a glowing white as the day rolls on, and turns a shiny golden at night in the moonlight.
Day 11: Return to Delhi Rise early to catch the first rays of dawn gleaming on the marble art, Taj Mahal, a certain sight that you would trade for. A masterpiece that took more than two decades now stands as a symbol of love to this world and you really thought chocolates and flowers were just enough to proclaim your love? After waddling through Agra, perhaps pausing in for a lunch, squeeze back into your car and journey further towards Delhi. Rest of the day is for your own exploration.
