RELEASE DATE: Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 7:00 pm, in the event that the pens are full, early release will be at the discretion of the Superintendent. CASH PREMIUMS: will be available on Park St. west of the main gate Monday - Saturday, September 4 9, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 10, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday, September 11, 2017 from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. After September 12, 2017 awards will be given out only during regular office hours and may be picked up at the E.I.S.F. Main Office. Premiums not claimed by September 29 will be considered a donation and will revert back to the Fair s general fund. SPECIAL DEPARTMENT RULES: A. All rabbits entered must have tattoo in left ear. Tattooing can be done at time of entry by local 4-H groups for $3.50 per animal. B. Entry forms must list ear tattoo of animal entered, also the fair class number. A phone number and complete address of the exhibitor is also needed. C. Dogs will not be allowed in the rabbit barn, under any circumstances. NO EXCEPTIONS!!! D. Rabbits under 12 weeks old will not be permitted in the barn. Does with litters will not be permitted. Any animal appearing to be under age will not be allowed in barn at Superintendents discretion without proof of age. E. All animals shall be property of exhibitor. F. All exhibitors are urged to become familiar with E.I.S.F. general rules. G. ALL RABBITS MUST BE HEALTH CHECKED AND EXAMINED BY AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL BEFORE ENTERING BUILDING. ANY ANIMAL DEEMED UNWORTHY OF SHOW, OR THAT SHOWS SIGNS OF NEGLECT OR APPEAR TO BE UNHEALTHY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE BARN AT THE SUPERINTENDENTS DISCRETION. ALL ANIMALS TO BE EXIBITED MUST ARRIVE IN APPROPRIATE TRANSPORT CARRIERS WITH ONE ANIMAL ONLY PER COMPARTMENT. CARD BOARD BOXES AND LIKE ENCLOSERS DO NOT ALLOW FOR PROPER VENTILATION AND ARE NOT APPROPRIATE. ANIMALS NOT IN APPROPRIATE TRANSPORT CARRIERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN BARN. Appropriate carriers are available through online equipment dealers. H. All exhibitors must be present while animals are being judged, or the rabbits will NOT be judged, unless prior arrangements are made with the show officials for someone else to do it. I. All rabbits must be shown in natural condition; grooming that does not alter original state is permitted. J. No animal can be shown in both youth & adult classes. K. Signs placed in cages advertising animals for sale is prohibited. Business cards may be placed in or on the cages. L. All rabbits shown are to be purebred. M. There will be no breeding of rabbits at this fair unless both owners expressed permission is given and notification is given to the superintendent.
N. Rabbits will be fed and watered by barn personnel unless requested otherwise. Please Note: Exhibitors must provide their own feed if they don t want the feed provided by the fair. O. All rabbits brought to the fair MUST pay an entry fee. Rabbits are not allowed to be sold or offered for sale outside of the barn. P. THE BEST IN SHOW, AND 1ST AND 2ND RUNNER-UP WINNERS MUST BE EXHIBITED UNTIL RELEASE TIME ON SATURDAY. Q. Any exhibitor taking their rabbits from the fairgrounds before the official release time, must have an early release form signed by the barn superintendent; if not they WILL FORFEIT THEIR PREMIUMS AND AWARDS. HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: General eliminations and disqualifications as follows: Animals found with snuffles, tumor, rupture, blindness in one or both eyes, lop ears except in lop-eared varieties, torn ears that noticeably detract from the appearance of the animal, off-colored or unmatched eyes, wolf or buck teeth, malocclusion or broken or missing teeth, crooked feet or legs, bowed legs, cow hocks, deformed bones, bucks not showing both testicles in normal condition, does heavy with young, sore hocks showing with infection, vent disease, abscesses, sore eyes, running eyes if severe or conspicuous, illegible permanent ear markings, permanent ear marking not in left ear, ear mites, mange, any respiratory illness. A.R.B.A. APPROVED BREEDS WILL BE SHOWN DIVISION I YOUTH CLASS There are no Pre-Jr. or intermediate classes for the following breeds: FRENCH ANGORA, MINI LOP, NETHERLAND DWARF, HOLLAND LOP, TAN, REX, POLISH, HIMALAYAN.
