All handlers whom enter this show will be allocated 1 hour of ring party on the day of competition to enable everyone to enjoy the show. POLE PICKER Basically what it says, if a pole is knocked down pick it up obviously being watchful that it does not disturb the dog competing. If the first or last pole is knocked down wait until scrimer says its okay to replace. Keep an eye on all obstacles and inform the judge if the weaves or tunnel become loose and need re pegging. LEADS A helper is required to move the dog s lead from the start to the finish line. Ideally taking the lead from the handler and placing it near the finish line or in a bucket supplied near the finish line. REFRESHMENTS A very important job which often gets overlooked! However a happy judge and ring party need to be supplied with Tea, Coffee, Juice, Biscuits etc. BOOKING IN Ask the competitor for their Running Order number and cross them off the Calling Sheet, and handing them their Score Sheet. (Each Score Sheet will have a different number and name on for you to match up with competitor). PADS Taking the ticket from handler and handing to the scribe, and taking the previous ticket to the scorer. RUNNER Moving paperwork, etc. to and from the competition area as required. SCRIMER The Scrimer s Job is to record the Judges marking of the dog in competition. On receipt of the Score Sheet the Scrimer should check that the timer is on zero, check with the competitor there name to ensure it corresponds with the name on the Scrime Sheet. Once this has been done, look at the Judge and he will confirm if it is okay to start. You then say, for instance, When you re ready June Whilst the competitor is on the course you must keep an eye on the judge so you may record faults and what the judge marks. In general: an open hand indicates 5 faults, a closed hand (fist) indicates 5R faults. The Judge will confirm an elimination signal, which is written as E on the sheet, If no faults are marked then C should be written on the sheet. When the competitor has finished, the time should be written on the sheet. SCORER At the end of the class put the Scrime Sheets in order of clear round best times. Enter the information on the Results Sheet. All the paperwork (Calling Sheets, Scrime Sheet & Result Sheets) should be returned to the Secretaries Tent in the plastic wallet provided.
