TEST SITE DESCRIPTION: Fairmount Park is part of the Prospect Park Recreation District. It is a lovely, quiet park nestled in a beautiful residential neighborhood. With a 60-car capacity paved parking lot and a handicapped-accessible restroom facility, this is the District s largest park. There are three clustered picnic pavilions with charcoal grills. The large shelter has four eight-foot tables and one grill. The other two smaller pavilions each have two eight-foot tables and one grill. A large playground area is adjacent to the pavilions. This park includes a regulation soccer field, a basketball hoop, a horseshoe pit, and a recently enlarged riding arena for equestrians. A half-mile walking/jogging perimeter trail encompasses the park. There are approximately four acres of turf grass. There is also a large natural grass area available for use as a freight haul or maneuvering course. There are bathrooms with running water. DIRECTIONS: From the north or east or south, take I-70 west to CO HWY 58W. Take HWY 58 West to the McIntyre St exit. Turn right onto McIntyre Street. Turn Left onto W 54th Ave. Turn left onto Quaker Street. Park will be at the end of the street on the left. From the South: Take C-470 to 6th Ave West. Follow 6th Ave West to HWY 58. Exit on McIntyre Street. Turn left on McIntyre Street. Turn left on W54th Ave. Turn left onto Quaker Street. Park will be at the end of the street on the left. REGULATIONS: These draft tests have been sanctioned by the Working Dog Committee of the Newfoundland Club of America (NCA) and sponsored by the High Country Newfoundland Club (HCNC). Entrants are responsible for obtaining and reading the regulations governing NCA Draft Tests. Copies of the regulations may be found on line at www.ncanewfs.org or by contacting the Working Dog Committee Publications Secretary, Dwight Gorsuch, 6282 Burris Road, Rock Hall, MD 2166. This test will be held under the NCA Draft Test Regulations revised October 30, 1999, Effective January 1, 2000, Updated June 2013 and Advanced Draft Test Regulations Effective January 1, 2015. ENTRIES: The entry fee for the Newfoundland test, team and re-qualification is $40.00. Send entry fees (payable to HCNC), a completed entry form and a copy of your dog s registration to: Claudia Walters, Test Secretary, 1039 S. Honeysuckle Drive Pueblo West, CO 81007. All entries that provide an email address will be notified by email of their entry receipt. After the closing date, entry confirmations will be sent by email unless otherwise requested. ENTRY LIMITATIONS: Entries for the Draft Test is limited to a total of 15 per day. Entries for the Advanced Draft Test is limited to a total of 6 per day. All entries will be accepted beginning with postmarks on March 2, 2015. Entries close on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 6:00 PM. There will be an alternate list if the entries exceed the limit. The method used for determining alternates will be as specified in the NCA Draft Test Regulations. No fax, email or phone entries will be accepted. There is no minimum entry for these tests. RE-QUALIFIERS: Re-qualifiers will be accepted on a space available basis. Untitled dogs will be given first priority even if their entry is postmarked after that of a titled dog. Entries will close when 15 untitled entries for the single and team divisions are received prior to or on the closing date, which ever occurs first. If entries fill, an alternate list will be established. The method used for determining alternates will be as specified in the NCA Draft Test Regulations. SAFETY POLICY: The WDC and the NCA have adopted the AKC official policy concerning dog attacks that lead to an injury, either to a person or to another dog. Also, Draft Test judges may excuse, and even ask to have removed from a test site, if necessary, any dog that appears dangerous to other dogs or persons. MISCELLANEOUS: Bitches in season will not be allowed on the test site until just prior to being judged, which will be after all other Newfoundlands are tested. Please contact the test secretary if your bitch comes into season. Un-entered dogs must be kept quiet, on leash, or crated, and away from the designated test area as a courtesy to our exhibitors.
