ELIGIBILITY Only purebred Afghan Hounds, Basenjis, Borzois, Cirneco Dell Etna, Greyhounds, Ibizan Hounds, Irish Wolfhounds, Italian Greyhounds, Pharaoh Hounds, Protuguese Podengo Pequeno, Salukis, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, Scottish Deerhounds, Sloughi and Whippets that are one year of age or older, that have been registered with the AKC, or part of an AKC registered litter, or otherwise, if whelped outside of the USA and owned by a resident of the USA, or of a country with a foreign registry organization whose pedigrees are acceptable for AKC registration and is registered with that registry, or that have been granted an ILP or PAL, are eligible to participate. Hounds may not be entered as registration pending or PAL pending. Breed disqualifications apply. Azawakhs, Norrbottenspets, Peruvian Inca Orchid, Portuguese Podengos (Medio/Grande only), and Thai Ridgebacks 1 year of age or older, that have been recorded with the Foundation Stock Service (FSS), or that have been granted a Purebred Alternate Listing (PAL) or an Indefinite Listing Privilege (ILP) are eligible to enter lure coursing tests and trial for junior, senior and master courser titles but are not eligible for championship points, and are not eligible to run in Best in Field. Bitches in season are not eligible to participate. Tests Offered Junior Courser (Test): Open to all eligible sighthounds. A hound running alone must receive a certification from a Judge on one date, and a second certification from a different Judge at a later date, with each Judge stating that the hound completed a (minimum) 600-yard course with a minimum of 4 turns. The hound must complete the entire course with enthusiasm and without interruption. Ribbons (Dark Green) will be awarded to all hounds that successfully complete the AKC Junior Courser Test. Qualified Courser (Test): A hound at least 12 months of age (Qualifying Hound) running with another hound of the same breed - or another breed with a similar running style - (Testing Hound) shall receive certification from a licensed judge. The hound must complete the course with enthusiasm and without interruption, sufficiently course the lure and not course the Testing Hound. The judge will certify that the Qualifying Hound ran cleanly and did not appear to present a hazard to the Testing Hound at any point in the qualifying course. This certificate is required to enter a hound in an Open Stake. The handler presenting the Qualifying Hound shall be responsible for providing the Testing Hound for the qualifying course. It is strongly recommended that every Qualifying Hound have been run previously alone and that to the handler s satisfaction runs cleanly and keenly. It is additionally recommended that every Qualifying Hound practices with other hounds prior to being presented for a qualifying courser test. It is to be understood by all that training prior to running a hound with other hounds in competition is essential to ensure that the hound is prepared to run safely with other hounds.
Stakes Offered OPEN STAKE. Open to all hounds that have obtained an AKC Qualified Courser Certificate or ASFA Hound Certification. This requirement will be waived for hounds that have earned a Field Championship title from the American Sighthound Field Association (ASFA) or the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC). ASFA or CKC Field Champions must submit a copy of their title certificate to the host club when they enter their first AKC Open Stake. This copy must be included when the results of the trial are sent to the AKC. Championship points earned from the Open Stake will only count toward a Field Champion title. Hounds that have earned an AKC Field Championship title are not eligible to enter the Open Stake. VETERAN STAKE: Open to all hounds which are eligible to enter Open or Special stakes and meet the age requirement for a veteran as established by the breed s parent club 6 years of age; except Irish Wolfhounds = 5 years, Whippets, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, and Afghan Hounds = 7 years. Championship points will be awarded. Points won from the Veteran Stake may count toward either a Field Championship title or Lure Courser Excellent title. SPECIALS STAKE: Open to all hounds that have earned their AKC Field Championship titles. Championship points earned from the Specials Stake will count toward Lure Courser Excellent titles. Qualifying scores earned from the Specials Stake will count toward a Senior Courser or Master Courser title. Singles (Limited to 6 entries): Open to all sighthound breeds approved to participate in AKC Lure Coursing trials. Hounds with breed disqualifications are eligible to enter. Hounds entered in the Singles Stake shall not be allowed to enter the regular stakes (Open, Specials or Veteran) at the same event. Each hound shall run the course alone. The order of running shall be determined by random draw. Judges shall score a dog s performance the same as a regular stake. Singles Stake entries from all breeds shall be combined to determine placements. Placements shall be awarded based on the combined preliminary and final course scores. The winner of the stake shall not be eligible to compete in Best of Breed and/or Best in Field courses. Hounds under disqualification from AKC, ASFA or CKC Field Trials may NOT be entered. FSS breeds are not eligible to compete. Conditions of Entry: Hounds must be 1 year of age or older on the day of the trial. A stake will be split if 20 or more entries are present in any one stake at the time of the draw. All hounds will run twice, in trios if possible or braces unless excused, dismissed or disqualified. Bitches in season, hounds with breed disqualifications and lame hounds will be excused. Cryptorchid, and monorchid hounds (without breed disqualifications) may not be entered. Hounds not present at roll call will be scratched. Each entry will be examined at inspection for breed disqualifications. Exhibitors are requested to not bring bitches known to be in season to the field. There will be a $5.00 fine assessed for any loose hound not participating in the course. Any person may, upon reasonable complaint, be asked to leave the grounds of the field trial by the Field Trial Committee.

Course Plan Friday (740 yards): Battery powered, continuous loop lure machines will be used. The lure will consist of white plastic strips or bags. Backup equipment will be available. The course will be reversed for the finals, runoffs and Best of Breed. The members of LVCC reserve the right to alter the course plan as required by weather and/or field conditions on the date of the trial. Directions to the Field: The Frenchtown bridge is narrow and has a weight limit. it is a two -way bridge and not suitable for large rigs. Tinicum Park is located on Rt. 32 in Upper Bucks County along the Delaware River, approximately 15 miles North of New Hope, PA and 3 miles South of Frenchtown, NJ. From the Northeast: New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 10, I-287 West to I-78 West. Take Exit 15 (Clinton-Pittstown) and turn left at light onto Route 513 South to Frenchtown. Cross bridge and turn left on Route 32 South to show grounds. From the South: NJ Turnpike to Exit 6. Pennsylvania Turnpike West to Willow Grove (Exit 27). North US 611, take by-pass around Doylestown and exit on Route 202 North (towards New Hope). Cross Delaware River Bridge into New Jersey. Take Route 29 North through Lambertville to Frenchtown. Follow directions below. Do not take River Road, Route 32 North, from I-95 on the Pennsylvania Side. Road is closed in places due to bridge construction and canal repairs.
