The showing of dogs whose Championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a Championship according to the owners records. GRAND CHAMPION COMPETITION The following categories of dogs are entered in this competition: 1. Dogs that are Champions of Record competing in Best of Breed or Best of Variety class. 2. Dogs transferred to Best of Breed/Variety which according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a championship but whose championships are unconfirmed. 3. Champions that win Non-Regular Classes and become eligible for Best of Breed competition. (Altered or spayed CH veteran class winners at independent specialties are eligible.) 4. Winners Dog and Winners Bitch are not eligible for Grand Champion competition. At the judge s discretion, Grand Championship points may be awarded to: 1. Best of Breed or Variety 2. Best of Opposite 3. Select Dog 4. Select Bitch. Grand Champion competition will not continue beyond Best of Breed competition and in breeds that are divided into varieties, Grand Champion Competition will not continue beyond Best of Variety competition. Non-Regular Classes (Involving Single Dog Entries) Field Trial Dog Class Field Trial Bitch Class Open to any dog or bitch with any AKC field trial placement Veteran Dogs 1 Veteran Bitches 1 A class for Dogs and a class for Bitches seven years and under ten years. Veteran Dogs 2 Veteran Bitches 2 A class for Dogs and a class for Bitches ten years of age and older. Spayed and neutered animals may be entered and shown in Veteran Classes at specialty shows. Winners of the Veterans Classes may also compete for Best of Breed Competition, provided that they are undefeated in any Regular Class at this show. Non-Regular Classes (Involving multiple dog entries) STUD DOG CLASS: For Stud Dogs and two of their Get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their Get. The owner of the Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of the Get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for its breed. Get must be entered in a Regular Class, Best of Breed competition, or some other non-regular class. BROOD BITCH CLASS: Same as Stud Dog Class, except for the following two changes: Substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog, and substitute Produce for Get. BRACE CLASS: Two dogs that are similar in appearance, performing in unison, and presented by a maximum of two handlers. Both dogs competing in brace competition must have at least one common owner. The Dogs comprising a Brace MUST be named at the time of entry. In making entries for Brace Class Only full particulars MUST be given for each dog on individual entry forms. An entry form for a dog entered in a Regular Class or for Best of Breed Competition and entered as part of a Brace MUST be marked accordingly in the space provided for Additional Classes, Brace Class. If more than one Brace is entered by same owner, dogs comprising EACH BRACE must be designated Brace No. 1, Brace No. 2, etc. NOTE: As the judge s decision in the Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, or Brace Class is based on the merits of more than one dog/bitch, no one of the dogs/bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. JUNIOR SHOWMANSHIP COMPETITION NOVICE CLASS: For Boys and Girls who, at the time entries close, have not won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. OPEN CLASS: For Boys and Girls who, at the time entries close, have won three (3) first place awards, with competition present, in a Novice Class at a licensed or member show. Novice & OPEN Class divided AS FOLLOWS: Junior-9 years old and under 12 years old on the day of the show; Intermediate-12 years old and under 15 years old on the day of the show; Senior-15 years old and under 18 years old on the day of the show. NOTICE: Junior Handlers must include their AKC JUNIOR HANDLER NUMBER on each entry. You may obtain your junior identification number by calling the AKC, Judges Education Department, (919) 816-3776. SWEEPSTAKES Sweepstakes will be judged prior to the Regular Classes. All dogs and bitches entered in Sweepstakes MUST ALSO be entered in a Regular Class at this Specialty, at the regular entry fee. The Sweepstakes is open to all dogs/bitches who are at least 6 months of age and under 18 months of age on the day of the show. Champions of Record at the time that entries close are eligible for the Sweepstakes. Professional handlers may only show dogs they own, co-own or have bred. Entries must be made at the same time and on the same entry form as the regular classes, indicating in the space for Additional Classes your entry in Sweepstakes. SWEEPSTAKES CLASSIFICATION Classes are divided by age and sex as follows: Puppy Dogs (6 Mos. & under 9 Mos.) Puppy Bitches (6 Mos. & under 9 Mos.) Puppy Dogs (9 Mos. & under 12 Mos.) Dogs and bitches entered in Veteran Sweepstakes need not be entered in any other class at this Specialty. Veteran Sweepstakes is open to all dogs/bitches who are at least 7 years of age on the day of the show. Champions of Record at the time that entries close are eligible for the Sweepstakes. Professional handlers may only show dogs they own, co-own or have bred. Entries must be made at the same time and on the same entry form as any other classes entered, indicating your entry in Veteran Sweepstakes. VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES CLASSIFICATION Classes are divided by age and sex as follows: Dogs (7 Yrs. & under 9 Yrs.) Bitches (7 Yrs. & under 9 Yrs.) Dogs (9 Yrs. & under 11 Yrs.) Bitches (9 Yrs. & under 11 Yrs.) Dogs (11 Yrs. & older) Bitches (11 Yrs. & older) Winners in each class will compete for Best Veteran Dog in Sweepstakes & Best Veteran Bitch in Sweepstakes DISTRIBUTION OF SWEEPSTAKES & VETERAN SWEEPSTAKES PRIZE MONEY 35% to be retained by Club for expenses. The remaining 65% of the total Sweepstakes entry fee income is known as the Sweepstakes Fund and will be divided among the winners in each class as follows: First Place - 40% of entry fee in that class. Second Place - 30% of entry fee in that class. Third Place - 20% of entry fee in that class. Fourth Place - 10% of entry fee in that class. NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS The American Kennel Club Rules and Regulations will govern this Show and Exhibitors must make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this Show Premium List. Effective for all events held on and after January 1, 2008, The American Kennel Club will collect a $3.00 Event Service Fee for the first entry of a dog and a $3.00 service fee for each additional entry of the same dog in the regular and non-regular recordable single entry classes, in all AKC licensed and member club events. The current 50 cent recording fee will continue to be collected where applicable. The event-giving club shall assume the responsibility of collecting all Event Service Fees for The American Kennel Club. These event service and recording fees shall be forwarded to The American Kennel Club along with all other required event results within seven (7) days of the close of the event. CANADIAN CHECKS OR MONEY ORDERS MUST BE DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS, AND/OR MADE PAYABLE IN U.S. FUNDS No Entry will be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Telegraph, e-mail and unsigned entries cannot be accepted and will be returned. Entries not on Official AKC Entry Forms and Photocopies of Entry Forms without Agreement and Rules on reverse side are NOT ACCEPTABLE. BaRay Events will add a $20.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitor or agent may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY BASIS. REFUNDS for cancellations due to judge change or cancellations made prior to entries closing will be mailed to said Exhibitor or Agent AFTER THE SHOW. An administrative fee of $5.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to the closing of entries. There is no refund for bitches in season in Obedience. FAX ENTRIES Fax entries will be accepted up to closing time. Fee is $4.00 per dog per show. If the credit card charge is denied for any reason, an additional service charge of $20.00 will be added. Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by the Judge or Veterinarian, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee, or because it has been entered incorrectly. There is no refund for DUPLICATE ENTRIES or OVERPAYMENTS. BaRay Events will make every effort to find all duplicate entries, but if entry has been processed, no refund will be made. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open, or to complete the Show NO REFUND will be made. Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendent/Show Secretary will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. Only dogs eligible for these shows will be admitted into the show area. There is no provision for unentered dogs. LOSS OR DAMAGE The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident or misfortune, to either dogs or exhibitors participating in these Shows. The welfare of an Exhibitor s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the Exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that Exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children. Exhibitors should follow their veterinarians recommendation to assure their dogs are free of internal and external parasites, any communicable diseases, and have appropriate vaccinations. TROPHIES & PRIZES will be awarded in the ring to person exhibiting the dog. No awards will be mailed. ALL RIGHTS TO TELEVISE, VIDEOTAPE, ADVERTISE, PHOTOGRAPH, PROMOTE or otherwise exploit this event are vested in the Club, or in persons to whom assignments of such rights have been made in writing by the Club. All persons and animals on the Show Grounds at any time while the show is in progress, do by attending this show or participating therein, grant to the Club the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent.
