The Building will be open at 7:00 am December 27, 2012 for Set-up The building will be closed promptly at 6 pm each evening. NO DOGS ARE TO BE LEFT OVERNIGHT IN THE BUILDING There are no electrical hook-ups outside. Rosette & a Squeaky Toy for any dog finishing a Championship at these shows. To comply with instructions issued by the Canadian Kennel Club we will be unable to accept, cancel, or substitute an entry reaching our Show Secretary after the closing date. All entry confirmations and Judging Schedules will be mailed or emailed as soon as possible after entries close. It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO VERIFY the receipt of any electronic entries prior to the advertised closing date. A valid means of payment must accompany all entries. Refunds will not be given for anyone double entering the same dog. All exhibitors should review Section 4 Judges General, also section 1.3 of the CKC Conformation Rules & Regulations, "It shall be the duty and obligation of the show giving club to see that a judge, club official, volunteer, or any participant at an event held under these rules is not subjected to indignities. Exhibitors must abide by errors made in entering their dogs regardless of how or by whom the entry was made. It is the exhibitor's responsibility to have the dog in the ring when the dog's class is called to be judged. The Elora Gorge Kennel Club, its officers & associates will use due care & diligence for the welfare of dogs, spectators, and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of an accident, or misfortune, to either dogs, exhibitors, spectators, or patrons. If because of riots, civil disturbances, or other acts beyond the control of the management, and it is impossible to open or complete the show, no refund of entry fees will be made The Show Superintendent will be in complete charge of the show and/or trial, which will be governed by the rules of the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC). MJN Show Service will only collect and utilize data and information that you provide us, and only for the purposes of the service we provide, exhibitors entering a CKC (Canadian Kennel Club) event, and the subsequent documents generated for this event, and required by the CKC. The type and accuracy of the information is solely contingent upon what you voluntarily provide us with. ERN (Event Registration Number) Effective as of January 01, 1992, all dogs that are foreign born and foreign owned and enter Canada for the sole purpose of entering CKC events will no longer require a CKC Registration Number, BUT, will require an ERN (Event Registration Number). The ERN MUST be applied for within 30 days of the first day of entering a CKC event. ATTENTION FOREIGN EXHIBITORS Please note that fees are due and payable in Canadian Dollars. Due to the constantly fluctuating currency rates, discounted cheques will not be accepted. Personal cheques will be accepted, however, they are to be payable in Canadian Funds. If you send a cheque in US Funds, it must be made out for the full amount of the entry and no exchange will be refunded to the exhibitor. Please do not mark cheques "Payable in Canadian Funds" or "At Par". They will not be cleared by the banks. Champions and Championship Points Chapter 15.1 A dog awarded WINNERS at a championship show shall be credited with a number of championship points (ranging from 0 to 5) and the number of championship points credited to a dog awarded WINNERS shall be as provided hereunder. 15.1.2 The schedule to be employed in the determination of the number of points to be allocated a dog awarded Winners shall be: Dogs competing 1 2 3 to 5 6 to 9 10 to 12 13 or more Points Allocated *includes the dog awarded WINNERS 0 1 2 3 4 5 In counting the number of eligible dogs in competition, a dog that is disqualified, dismissed, excused or ordered from the ring by the judge shall NOT be included in the calculation for championship points. Note: To determine the number of championship points earned by a dog awarded WINNERS, total all the dogs in competition which the dog defeated, directly or indirectly, for, the highest of the following official breed awards, Winners,Best of Winners,Best of Breed,or Best of Opposite Sex, then consult the schedule set forth above. Section 15.1.8, a dog awarded WINNERS which also places in the regular group competition shall be credited with the following additional points, provided that a dog was defeated at the Group level. Section 15.1.9, A dog may not be credited with more than five (5) championship points in a single show. Section 15.1.11, A dog awarded WINNERS which also places Best in Show at an all-breed Championship Show shall be credited with five (5) championship points inclusive of any points earned at breed or group level. Section 15.1.12 (c), In order for a dog to be recognized as a Champion and its owner provided with a Championship certificate, the dog must have earned at least one 2 point win either at the breed or group level. Moving a Class Dog to Specials Chapter 8, Section 8.9.1, A dog which is individually registered in the records of the Canadian Kennel Club, and has completed the requirements for a championship in accordance with these rules but at the time of the closing of entries for a show has not received confirmation of the title, may be transferred from one of the regular classes to "Specials Only", providing the transfer is submitted to the Show Secretary in WRITING by the owner or handler at least one (1) hour prior to the opening of the show. Section 8.9.3, When one or more all-breed and/or specialty shows are held on the same day, in the same venue, the request for moving of class dogs to specials must be made prior to the scheduled opening of the first show. Every day of a two or more day show is a separate show. Please note that this rule is effective up to one (1) hour prior to the opening of the show. NOT one hour prior to the judging of the breed. Important Note regarding Emails & Faxes It will be the responsibility of the exhibitor to ensure that any electronic submission, either, email, facsimile, or any document transmitted electronically, reaches the proper authority or recipient, within the times and limits as regulated for each document in the CKC Rules & regulations. Sent fax receipts, and or, copies of sent emails, will not be taken as evidence of receipt by recipients. There are no shower facilities available at this time of year. Directions to the Show: From London: Take Hwy. 401 E. and take exit 278 B (sign for Bingemans). Follow on King St., and take Hwy. 8 W. to Kitchener/Waterloo. Follow on Hwy 8 w. and take Hwy 85. N. to Guelph/Waterloo. From Hwy. 85 N. take Hwy. 7 E. to Wellington St. E. Turn right at stop sign onto Shirley Ave. and follow until you will see Bingemans new entrance across the street from Brick Brewery. From Toronto: Hwy #401 West until Hwy. #6 North (Exit 295). All first place winners, at each competitive level, from each of the three days, will be invited to compete in this event. A single winner from each of the competitive classes will be selected. The six winners will advance to the final judging, where a single award will be given. This overall winner will receive an appropriate Prize The remaining five Junior Handlers will receive an appropriate Prize 12.6 Non-Regular Classes Thursday December 27, 2012 Unofficial Senior Handling Rules to Enter- 50 Plus (honour system) Ring and Time to Be Announced. Entries must be made one hour prior to scheduled judging time. Classes available Senior Male and Senior Female Winner of each class to Brace receive Rules a $25.00 Tim Horton s Gift Card. BRACE CLASS ***Registered Owners of the Dogs Participating in this Class need not be the same.*** CKC Conformation show Rules and Regulations 12.6.1 The non-regular classes allowed at a CKC conformation show shall be as described in this section. If offered, these classes must be included in the premium list. A dog entered in the Brace or Team class that is spayed/neutered must be entered in an Altered Class or in Exhibition Only. (a) Brace Class At an all-breed or specialty show a club may, but is not required to, offer a Brace Class. This class shall be for 2 dogs of the same breed (not necessarily of the same sex) If offered, the class shall be judged after Best of Breed- after judging of the group and before Best in Show. A Brace should be judged as an identical pair- same colour, size, gait, and same stride. When viewed from the side they should appear as one dog and its shadow. A brace must be handled by 1 person on 1 lead.

CANADIAN KENNEL CLUB CLUB CANIN CANADIEN Non Member Participation Fee (April 2011) A non member participation fee will be charged to a resident of Canada who is a non-member of the CKC. The non member participation fee is paid in any year a title is earned and covers all titles and dogs owned by that individual. In order for the title to be awarded, the non member will have a choice to either become a CKC member or pay the non member participation fee. Failure to comply within 30 days of notification will result in the title being withheld and the dog cannot be moved up to the next level. All Premium Lists will carry a note stating the fee applies only to dogs wholly owned by non-member residents of Canada and is not applicable to CKC members.
