LRKC 48th ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW, 19th SEPTEMBER 2015 VENUE: SA Guide-Dogs Association, Paulshof, Johannesburg SPONSOR: Royal Canin JUDGE: MR RICHARD EDWARDS DOG ENTRIES: 33 ABSENT: No s 8, 9, 20, 24, 71, 72 JUDGE S CRITIQUE (Note: Critique given for first 3 places in each class only) DOGS Minor Puppy Dogs (6 to 9 months) 1 st No 39 Bunnichem Jamandreu Mrs A Jansen van Vuuren (Ms S Brown) Really promising, very masculine, sweet head, nice eye and expression, super bone and feet, good shoulder, good spring of rib, strong quarters, in lovely coat and otter tail, nicely balanced, lovely type, presented in beautiful condition, moves okay in age, just needs to tighten up, very promising. 2 nd No 64 Chezenko Yesterday s Dream Drs A & V Reid Nice type, a proper Labrador, I liked his head, expression and eye colour, good bone and feet, well balanced, coat and tail are okay, he is promising but very raw. He needs some training but he should have a good future. He needs to develop and show himself off. Puppy Dogs (9 to 12 months) 1 st No 77 Kloofzicht Rodeo Clown Mrs M van Tonder Very typical, very nicely balanced, just right size for his age, a masculine head but not overdone, nice eye colour, bone and feet are okay, nice shoulders, good ribs, strong through the loin, presents a pleasing picture of quality without too much substance, coat and tail are okay but not the best at the moment, moves freely, covering a lot of ground, needs to tighten on his hocks a little, most promising. Presented in a very hard and masculine condition. Junior Dogs (12 to 18 months) 1 st No 17 Ablesing Shakima Gold of Jesandow Mrs M Compton Strongly made, masculine dog, up to size, very masculine head, good expression and eye colour, for me a little bit too much head. Well-constructed, bone and feet are good, big ribs, strong through the loin, moves well off strong hocks but needs to tighten in front. He really needs to present himself better and for owner to make the best of his talents. Graduate Dogs (18 to 24 months) 1 st No 14 Ailsacraig Final Fling of Conkasha Ms S Brown 1

Good type cream, not over done in any way, masculine head, strong through the neck, good shoulders, good ribs and strong topline and quarters, coat okay but he is out of coat, moves freely, but he needs to strengthen on his hocks and is a bit wide in front, but was extremely well presented. The owner handled him well and made the best of him. I like his type. 2 nd No 46 Lacote Sixpence OKaffe of Berrakaw Mr & Mrs P & M Nicholson Very masculine chocolate, I like his outline very much, really masculine head, eye colour just acceptable, strong neck set into good shoulders, bone and feet are good, big ribs, wide loin, and strong quarters, coat a bit curled but not a problem for me, good otter tail, moves freely but he is not strong in his hocks and needs to tighten a bit in front, good showing, he is promising. 3 rd No 61 Conkasha Prince Maximus Mrs A Prinsloo He is a really nice chocolate, good type, masculine head, eye colour just acceptable, he has a lovely outline, I like his neck and shoulders, strong through the body, all the right attributes, he just needs to be presented better - with good presentation he could do well. Members Dogs 1 st No 65 Casimiro Sykstus of Rowania (Imp: Poland) Mrs T Rowan I like him very much. I love his type, his overall balance, he has a masculine head, his eye colour is just acceptable but his head is not overdone in anyway, lovely reach of strong neck set into good shoulders, enough bone and good feet, can sometimes stand a bit wide in front which needs watching, big ribs, strong through the loin and quarters, enough coat and tail okay. He presented himself very well indeed, well handled, he moved freely with a lovely clean front, could be stronger on his hocks but I really like his quality and finish. 2 nd No 27 Adamasdor Bismark Mr R Jansen van Vuuren Really good type, strongly made, plenty of substance, lovely masculine head, strong neck into good shoulders and in good coat. To be very critical I would like a fraction more leg, he moved freely but he is a bit wide in front, a proper Labrador, with lovely quiet disposition. 3 rd No 19 Ch Ailsacraig White Shuma Mrs B Dumbrill Strongly made masculine dog, very male in head but it is a bit strong for me, decent shoulders, bone and feet are okay, good ribs, moved okay, felt the winners presented themselves better. South African Bred Dogs 1 st No 38 Skibmanoch Zephyr of Bunnichem Mrs A Jansen van Vuuren (Mr R Jansen van Vuuren) Really nice chocolate, full of breed type, very pleasing head, masculine but not overdone, has a little bit extra muscle which is so important, strong through the neck set into good shoulders, good ribs, strong loin, very well balanced, has a lovely finish, enough coat, he moved okay behind, could be tighter in front, to be very critical he could be bigger, he is so well balanced and of such nice quality that it makes him look smaller sometimes. 2 nd No 60 Tapeatom In Contention of Craignair Mrs J Pott Very typical yellow, lovely head, strong neck set into good shoulders, lovely body, good wide quarters, good coat and otter tail, he moved better than the winner especially in front, but he does not have the winners finish. Genuine Labrador. 3 rd No 35 Adamasdor s White Joker R Jansen van Vuuren Typical yellow, proper Labrador, I liked his head, good bone and feet, clearly his coat is not in condition, he moved okay. 2

Veteran Dogs 1 st No 63 Ch Chezenko Wingshooter - Drs A & V Reid Lovely type, presents a beautiful balanced picture, lovely head, masculine head but not overdone, his cowlick does not help but it s not a big issue, strong through the neck, good shoulders, very nicely balanced, not in best coat but you can see he has a proper coat and tail, he is a proper Labrador, he could be a little bit bigger, moved okay, a bit tender in front, really nice sensible Labrador. 2 nd No 5 Ch Tapeatom Out Of The Blue to Ailsacraig Mrs M Bell Very typical, I liked his head, eye colour, strong neck, good shoulders, balanced all through, bone and feet are okay, moved a bit close behind, not quite the animation of the winner. 3 rd No 68 Ch Tapeatom Great Guy of Dwarsberg Mrs A Stofberg In very good condition for his age, strong and masculine, I liked his head, big ribs, very muscular, typical Labrador, a little bit big for me but credit to his owner. Open Dogs 1 st No 21 Dirnelia Buffalo Soldier Mr GP Groenewald Very typical, strong and hard, well balanced, head okay and eye colour fine, good length of neck set into good shoulders, bone and feet are okay, coat is okay, good quarters, he moved well enough without putting a great deal into it, he is a nice, typical, sensible Labrador, when he shows himself off he has quality. 2 nd No 31 Adamasdor Peter Blue Moon Mr R Jansen van Vuuren Super black dog, very strong in breed type, I liked his head and eye colour, his overall quality, a really typical Labrador and well-constructed. At first I thought he would win the class easily, but the winner moved a good bit better, if he could tighten up and present a harder, tougher picture, I would find him very pleasing. Lovely type and finish. 3 rd No 62 Blinkwater Summer s Amigo at Chezenko - Drs A & V Reid A very good chocolate, masculine, strongly made, real dog head, eye colour just acceptable, well balanced, he moved well, but he was very out of coat, it is about presentation in part, well handled. Champion Dogs 1 st No 26 Ch Dolbia Louboutin of Bunnichem (Imp: Poland) Mrs A Jansen van Vuuren Lovely quality, beautifully balanced, masculine head, though a little bit thick in cheek for me, lovely strong neck set into good shoulders, good spring of rib, strong through the loin and quarters, bone and feet okay, presented in the most beautiful condition, well handled, showed himself off well, was the best movement in the class with a bit to spare. A really good dog. 2 nd No 40 Ch Craignair Switchblade Mr D Malcolm Typical, strongly made, I liked his head, nice clean cheeks, good eye colour, nice expression, perhaps a better head than the winner, strong neck into good shoulders, big strong ribs, very strong through the loin and muscular quarters, in good coat and tail, did not move as well as the winner, but a real proper Labrador. 3 rd No 74 Ch Craignair Special Vintage at Kloofzicht Mrs M van Tonder Very good, typical dog of good size. I liked his head, good strong neck into good shoulders, enough bone and good feet, he moved okay but not in his best coat and failed against the other two on this one critical point. 3

Neuter Dogs 1 st No 57 Ch Craignair Stolen Nugget Mrs J Pott Big strong handsome boy, lovely head, fractionally light in eye, super neck and shoulders, presented in beautiful condition, moved well, super double coat. 2 nd No 43 Brumoso Tovaresh Roebel of Berrakaw - Mr & Mrs P & M Nicholson Big upstanding dog, lovely head, eye is just about acceptable, strong full body, good bone, in lovely coat, moved okay. 3 rd No 13 Chezenko Irish Mist CGC(Go) Mrs M Branco Typical black dog, his head was lovely, plenty of substance, good bone, deep through the ribs, could've moved with a bit more drive. BITCH ENTRIES: 44 ABSENT: No s 2, 7, 22, 23, 70 BITCHES Minor Puppy Bitches (6 to 9 months) 1 st No 25 Bunnichem Longuet Mrs A Jansen van Vuuren Really super, stylish black, nice head, lovely reach of neck, good shoulders, lovely ribs, bone and feet are excellent. I really love her type, presented in beautiful condition, well handled, coat and tail look good, she moved well, won her class on good handling and good presentation. 2 nd No 36 Bunnichem Beau Visage Mrs A Jansen van Vuuren (Mr J van Niekerk) Really, really lovely puppy, most beautiful head, lovely eye colour, lovely reach of neck into good shoulders, bone and feet are okay, good for quality and balance, in good coat and tail, moved well. If she had been presented properly she would have won the class. Really, really promising. 3 rd No 32 Adamasdor Queen s Gambit Mr R Jansen van Vuuren Lovely yellow, most pleasing feminine head and expression, lovely reach of neck, nicely constructed all through, good bone and feet, needs to tighten up behind, okay in front, when she loses her puppy coat she will look good, very promising. Puppy Bitches (9 to 12 months) 1 st No 79 Tapeatom Magic Moment Mrs M van Tonder Really sweet, stylish youngster, most beautiful head, lovely eye and expression, beautifully balanced, really stylish on the move, moves straight and through with the tail lashing. I really liked her type and quality, her balance and style. Very promising youngster. 2 nd No 47 Play Fullteam Mon Milu Molika of Berrakaw - Mr & Mrs P & M Nicholson Nice type of black, very feminine head, nice expression, she is well made, with a decent neck and good shoulders, in lovely coat and condition, she is not making the best of herself, if she would stand up and show, she would look so much better. 3 rd No66 Ablesing Hurricane Lanie of Stefdarja Mrs J Schutte Very typical, pleasing head, good substance in bone and in rib, big wide quarters, excellent coat, tail okay. She would not be handled, a shame. 4

Junior Bitches (12 to 18 months) 1 st No48 Toptail s Jin Xin Taibi of Berrakaw (Imp: Taiwan) - Mr & Mrs P & M Nicholson Really classy cream, very pretty sweet head, lovely reach of neck and good shoulders, nicely balanced, in full coat, tail okay, she moved very well, except the tail was a bit high on the move but not a big issue, she should have a promising future. 2 nd No76 Kloofzicht Midnightspecial Mrs M van Tonder Really pleasing head, sweet bitch expression, nicely made, just felt the winner had a better shoulder angulation and the winner had better movement in front. She is of strong breed type, good coat and tail, she is promising but really needs to tighten in front, well presented and well handled. 3 rd No16 Ablesing Moja Pani of Jesandow Mrs M Compton Sweet feminine head, good reach of neck, tidy shoulders, bone and feet are okay, good ribs and strong quarters, in good coat and condition, she needs to be socialised, judge has got to be able to handle her. Graduate Bitches (18 to 24 months) 1 st No41 Craignair Dream Hawk Mr D Malcolm Sweet feminine head, nice eye colour, strong neck, shoulders are okay maybe a bit straight up in the arm, feet are okay maybe a bit big in ribs, coat and tail are okay, a really old-fashioned typical yellow, moved okay, hocks a bit close behind, clean in front, a proper Labrador. Maiden Bitches 1 st No3 Ailsacraig Oh So Cool Mrs M Bell A very pretty little cream, sweet head, feminine expression, she is nicely constructed, she has a strong neck set into good shoulders, enough bone and good feet, good spring of rib, wide quarters, in good coat and tail, very pretty, very feminine, nice type, well handled, a proper Labrador. 2 nd No66 Ablesing Hurricane Lanie of Stefdarja Mrs J Schutte See critique under Puppy Bitches Members Bitches 1 st No1 Ch Adamasdor Drop Of Jupiter CGC(Go) Ms G Alberts Really classy black, super breed type, beautifully balanced, lovely sweet head and expression, not in full coat but she has enough coat but it shows on the tail, just enough bone, feet are okay, very nicely finished, very well handled and moved well enough, most promising. 2 nd No56 Craignair Picture Perfect Mrs J Pott Really good cream, very pretty head and expression, good reach of neck and nice shoulders, good ribs, in good coat and tail, she will get better yet, stands too close to handler, moves with enthusiasm, should have a good future in the ring. 3 rd No10 Ablesing Purple Rain Mrs J Botha Really good type, proper Labrador, head is okay, a little bit too much cheek for me, presented in excellent condition, lovely coat and tail, she is really nice to handle, moves with real drive, enthusiastic show girl. 5

South African Bred Bitches 1 st No55 Ch Craignair Huntress Gold Mrs J Pott Strong in breed type, feminine head and lovely expression, strong neck set into good shoulders, just enough bone, feet are okay, presents a lovely balanced picture, lovely coat and tail, very well handled, moved well enough behind, she's out in elbow but in front a really typical Labrador. 2 nd No73 Adamasdor Black Zambuko of Kloofzicht Mrs M van Tonder Of good type, full of breed character, lovely head and expression, strongly made all through, very muscular, she has a good coat but its bit straggly at the moment, moved well behind but can go a bit wide in front. Front movement and coat cost her the class, a proper Labrador. 3 rd No34 Adamasdor Sally Mokkapot Mr R Jansen van Vuuren An old-fashioned chocolate, lovely head, a real strong neck set into good shoulders, bone is okay, feet a little bit slack, a lovely coat and tail, scores on breed type, not as clean in outline or as muscular as the winners. Veteran Bitches 1 st No59 Ch Tapeatom Drama Queen of Craignair Mrs J Pott Absolutely full of yellow breed type, exactly what a yellow show Labrador should look like, lovely reach of strong neck, wide ribs, maybe fractionally straight up in her arms, lovely front, strong quarters, coat and tail are okay, moved well for age, lovely old-fashioned Labrador. 2 nd No29 Ch Adamasdor Hanna Mr R Jansen van Vuuren The most beautiful head and expression, clean head, lovely eye colour, absolutely feminine, strong neck set well into shoulders, big ribs and wide quarters, a good coat but not very clean and tidy, moved well for age, a proper old-fashioned Labrador. 3 rd No42 Ailsacraig So Cool Mrs V Muller Really lovely type, very feminine, a sweet head and expression, nicely made, carrying a bit too much weight which takes a bit too much from her front, strong hind quarters, moved well for age. Open Bitches 1st No53 Ch Craignair Heart Breaker Mrs J Pott Exceptionally typical bitch, carrying an outstanding double coat and really good otter tail, the sweetest of expressions, lovely reach of neck into good shoulders, well balanced, moved well in front but not the strongest in behind but overall a genuine Labrador. Her character shines through, well handled. 2 nd No75 Isipho Night Fury of Kloofzicht Mrs M van Tonder Most beautiful type, I prefer the winner s slightly cleaner head, but head is fine, lovely reach of neck, in real Labrador coat, good tail, beautifully presented, just enough bone and feet are okay, she moved well, a really nice typical Labrador. 3 rd No10 Ablesing Purple Rain Mrs J Botha See critique under Members Bitches above 6

Champion Bitches 1 st No51 Ch & Int Ch Craignair Destined To Be Mrs J Pott Very typical yellow, it s what yellow bitches should look like, lovely head, kind expression, very, very strong breed type, shoulders are okay, bone and feet are okay, big ribs, good quarters and moves beautifully off her hocks, strong and straight movement, a bit wide in front but not a big problem, a proper Labrador. 2 nd No44 Ch Chezenko Baby Be Mine of Berrakaw Mr & Mrs P & M Nicholson Rather different from the winner but her movement won her a place over the typical black in third place. Beautiful expression, eye colour okay, nicely made but not in full coat, for showing she could do with better condition, good movement. 3 rd No54 Ch Craignair Hot Gossip Mrs J Pott Typical black, lovely type, sweet head and expression, she's just a bit heavy for me and she was crossing slightly behind. Her front movement was okay and she moved freely but was looking a bit matronly. 7
