Page 2 of 7 Jackie Rochford is providing the Adoptive Parents with a purebred AKC Saint Bernard puppy. You will be furnished with AKC registration papers. Papers do not fly with puppies The Adoptive Parents will be provided with Vet history, Microchip papers, AKC paper, Bill of Sale and Health guarantee. Puppy Guarantee The puppy is guaranteed to leave my premises in good health. The Breeder takes pride in producing healthy pups. I raise puppies for loving, responsible individuals and for families that will provide a forever homes. This Breeder reserves the right to reclaim said puppy, should the new owner, not be able to provide adequate food, shelter, veterinarian care. In the event the terms of this paragraph are enforced this Breeder shall not be obligated to pay buyer any consideration. If you need help, please call me. I am here for you and your puppy I also reserve the right to have puppy returned to me as first choice if you decide voluntarily that you cannot keep your puppy. I ask that you call me if you need help to find your puppy a new home. Never surrender puppy to a shelter or put to sleep because you cannot take care of puppy or Big Dog. I will keep or rehome. One year guarantee: Your Saint Bernard puppy is guaranteed against any congenital or hereditary disease that would interfere with living a quality life. In the event that such a defect is discovered, a replacement puppy of equal value would be given to buyer and the said dog returned to the breeder at the buyer s expense. If at any point within the first year period an inherited issue is diagnosed, contact us. Please, have the condition documented by a licensed & qualified veterinary specialist. The Breeder will replace the puppy in question. A replacement puppy will be given after the Buyer returns puppy to breeder along with all health records and AKC paperwork signed over to Breeder, at buyer's cost. The Buyer may have to wait until the Breeder's next available litter is born and weaned (at 8 weeks of age) to receive their replacement puppy. Buyer is responsible for all costs of transportation for the replacement puppy. Breeder is not responsible for any veterinarian expenses incurred by the buyer. There will be no refund in the form of money under any circumstances. This is a Replacement Guarantee only as I am not a store. We believe that it is most important and we want the best for our pups for a lifetime 1. To validate our guarantee Adoptive Parents must agree to the following. 2. We have chosen to Adopt this AKC Saint Bernard puppy and using the word adoptive, we mean to love, care and provide a loving forever home to the puppy. I / We will provide the puppy with the best environment and care possible. We agree to have regular Wellness checkups and keep up to date on shots. After initial puppy series of vaccinations, we will get Titers (tests for antibodies that will show protection). I will avoid over vaccinating. Also I will ask Vet to inform us of possible side effects. I will get informed as much as possible about the care of my puppy. 3. We require that within 72 hours (5 days) from date of having pup in possession that the puppy be seen by a licensed Veterinarian for a health check. A Vet health check is to Page 2
Page 3 of 7 verify you adopted a healthy puppy as I have said. An email telling me how everything went at the Vets is required. It will go in your forever file I will also put your happiness on website if that is alright You will have had 8 weeks to make this appointment. I am following the guidelines provided. 4. If a puppy has a health problem you must notify us. Notify us in writing as well as calling. We reserve the right to a second opinion and there must always be a Vet s written statement regarding the nature of any problem. Keep the stress level low on the puppies as they grow. 5. We are not a puppy store where puppies are purchased and returned. If puppy is returned, there are costs involved for me and returning a puppy does not guarantee a refund. Puppies because of many reasons must be separated from other pups. Pups may need to be put on separated premises for a period of time to ensure health of other pups. Why Is The Vet Check Required Once your puppy leaves my home, I have no control of the environment or the stress the puppy has endured or been exposed. It is also to provide peace of mind for you. I want you to know that your puppy is healthy just as I say. You will/have be kept up to date on all happenings with the puppies since birth. You will be provided with all history for your new baby. You can also call me any time!!! 5. Jackie Rochford cannot control custody battles over puppy. I/We agree that I will not provide Jackie Rochford as a witness in divorce court. The Vet check appointments all have been verbally agreed on when every puppy is leaving the premises or flying out. Pups are picked up at 8 weeks and fly the earliest at 8 weeks. 6. New puppy Adoptive parents must be aware that large breed dogs grow quickly and growing too rapidly can promote skeletal problems. Puppy shall be fed a Premium quality LARGE BREED PUPPY food only. Eukanuba, Royal Canin, Diamond Naturals and or many others (the above are suggestions). You may need to switch food to ½ puppy ½ adult if you think your puppy is growing to fast or if you see growing pains. Always check with your Vet if you notice pain as it could be due to trauma. Page 4 of 7 7. Puppy shall not be sold, leased or given to any pet shop, supplier, broker, wholesaler, and shelter or research establishment. I / We will never sell our adoptive pup; if I am unable to keep the puppy I will call Jackie Rochford. I will ask for help with rehoming and or bring / send my puppy back to Jackie Rochford at my own expense. I understand that this is not a puppy store. 8. I understand that Jackie Rochford will retain an Attorney and will sue me for the total sum of $5000.00 if the puppy has been surrendered to a shelter or euthanized for reasons other than health problems. 9. Adoptive Parents agrees to provide annual vet exams, heartworm preventatives and vaccinations. Puppy must receive regular veterinary care to maintain good health. I agree to keep on NuVet and NuJoint for a lifetime. I understand that failure to comply with this and will void guarantee. 9. I / We agree that young children and all adults use caution when they carry or pick up puppy. Children should not be allowed to pick up or to carry puppy, unless sitting. Saint Bernard pups are large and heavy; dropping a puppy can cause fractures and or Head Trauma. It is also not good to pick up or let a puppy hang, support their bottom when holding. I / We agree to have rules and teach our children not to carry puppy or risk puppy s well-being. We will teach our children to respect and care for the new baby in the home. We will never leave puppy unsupervised. 10. To be covered by this agreement is not transferable. Adoptive Parents agrees to notify Jackie Rochford of any change of address or phone number. I always need this for Microchip. I will be notified and then I will notify you. 11. I / We agree to take our baby Saint Bernard to a good Vet. We will get our baby a good doctor, not just a shot clinic. 12. Jackie Rochford also does suggest that I have a mobile Vet for a second Vet. This usually cost about $50.00 to become established. I love a mobile Vet 13. If returning a pup/adult Saint, the AKC papers must be provided and signed over to Jackie Rochford. SPAY AND NEUTER 1. Spaying and neutering will not take place until after 18 months. This eliminates so many potential health problems. It is not recommend that you spay or neuter sooner. 2. Testicles: Male puppy may not have one testicle that descends. The Testicle can go back up and may not descend again. It is most likely to happen when flying or cold and at a certain age. There are also genetic factors that may play a role (but not life altering). If pup s Vet Clearance/Health Check is good and pup flies and testicle recedes there will be a 10 month time frame before puppy is replaced. I reserve the right to change the time frame on this decision. This is for Show/Breed pup only. Puppy Dew Claws. Puppies have had Dew Claws removed at the Vet s during the first week after being born. The claws are removed or deemed not necessary to remove at the discretion of the doctor. Page 4
Page 5 of 7 Dew claws can grow back. This is to my regret, however, I cannot held responsible. If you desire this can be redone at the time of spay/neuter. The expense will solely be yours. If puppies or puppy is being medical treatment in any way than the option was given to let puppy stay with me until treatment was complete and pup was medically realeased. The other option was to pick up puppy/puppies as planned and medically resolve this issure after leaving. The preference is for me to always keep the puppy/puppies. I will not be responsible for any Vet expense to related issue. Let it be known that I was willing to keep puppy/puppies and gave that choice to the puppy/puppies parents. I will provide any medication and directions to the puppy parents to continue treatment. This contract shall not be modified or altered by either party. Upon signature completion, this contract will become a legal and binding document. This contract shall be deemed a legally binding contract and is under the jurisdiction of the State of Michigan in the County of Tuscola. If you should ever need anything in the future, please, call me. No matter how simple or small it may seem. If it matter s to you then it also matter s to me. These pups have a place in my heart. I ask that you continue to provide this supplement. It is with hope that you use these supplements for the rest of their lives. If you are concerned about health and preventative action is the best. These are Giant Breed Pups. Please, do not save money on food. Problems have been proven to be eliminated with supplements and proper nutrition. I believe this is a pay now or pay later decision. Due to the large size and the growth rate, your Saint needs this supplement. We require that all of our Saint Bernard Puppies and Big Dogs continue taking NuVet Labs natural supplement. "NuVet Plus and NuJoint". It is imperative and is for the benefit of your Saint. NuVet supplements can be ordered from NuVet Labs at 800/ 474-7044. I cannot stress enough the significance of these supplements. If these supplements are not given it will result in the health guarantee being voided. Nutrition is the largest factor involved and not protecting the pups activity thus resulting in injury. Please, be careful. If you divide the cost of the NuJoint to the supply amount the cost is not that high. These supplements can save you a great deal of money. Please, always keep in mind that your puppy is only a baby. They need to rest, be supervised and they need to be taught. Saint Bernards are sensitive, please, use caution. They never need to be screamed at or hit. They learn easily.
