NOTICE TO EXHIBITORS The American Kennel Club Rules and Regulations will govern this Show and Exhibitors must make themselves familiar with the agreement of the American Kennel Club, referred to on the reverse side of the entry blanks that accompany this Show Premium List. Effective for events held on and after January 1, 2004, the AKC will collect a $1.50 AKC Event Service Fee for the first entry of a dog in all AKC licensed and member dog shows, obedience trials, and tracking tests. The current 50 cent recording fee will continue to be collected. A show-giving club shall assume the responsibility of collecting all Recording Fees and Event Service Fees for the AKC. If a dog is entered in more than one class in the show, the Event/Recording Fees to be collected on the first entry only. (AKC Rule. Chapter 11, Section 2). CANADIAN EXHIBITORS MUST SUBMIT ENTRIES WITH CHECKS DRAWN ON U.S. ACCOUNTS OR WITH INTERNA- TIONAL MONEY ORDERS IN U.S. FUNDS Dogs need be present only for scheduled judging and will be released if not needed for further judging. Dogs must be ready for judging. Neither the club nor its Superintendent will be responsible or obligated to furnish any service for notifying exhibitors or their agents of Breed or Class Judging. Judges need not wait for any dog holding up a class. Owners or agents alone are responsible for the presence of their dogs in the judging rings. No Entry will be accepted which specifies any condition as to its acceptance. Telegraph, e-mail and unsigned entries cannot be accepted and will be returned. Entries not on Official AKC Entry Forms and Photocopies of Entry Forms without the Agreement and Rules on the reverse side are NOT ACCEPTABLE. The Club and/or its Superintendent assumes no responsibility for wrong or incomplete information given on the entry blank by the owner or the owner s agent. RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE COMPLETENESS OF ANY ENTRY RESTS SOLELY WITH THE ENTRANT. Entry fees shall NOT be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, sick, lame, excused by the Judge or Veterinarian, or barred from competition by action of the Show Committee, or because it has been entered incorrectly. There is no refund of entry fee for bitches in season. There is no refund for DUPLICATE ENTRIES or OVERPAYMENTS. The Superintendent will make every effort to find all duplicate entries, but if entry has been processed, no refund will be made. If, because of riots, civil disturbances or other acts beyond the control of the management it is impossible to open, or to complete the Show NO REFUND will be made. RETURNED CHECKS DO NOT CONSTITUTE A VALID ENTRY FEE. The Superintendent will add a $20.00 collection fee to the amount of each returned check. Subsequent returned checks from the same exhibitor or agent may result in their being put on a CASH ONLY BASIS. REFUNDS for cancellations due to judge change or cancellations made prior to entries closing will be mailed to said Exhibitor or Agent AFTER THE SHOW. An administrative fee of $5.00 will be withheld from all refunds for entries cancelled prior to the closing of entries. Only dogs eligible for this show will be admitted into the show area. There is no provision for unentered dogs. The judging will start promptly. Dogs may arrive anytime prior to their time of judging, and may leave immediately thereafter, unless required for further judging. ENTRIES WILL BE ACKNOWLEDGED after entries close with entry acknowledgment and judging program to address on entry. Should Exhibitor NOT receive an acknowledgment within a reasonable time, PLEASE notify the Superintendent at (360) 683-1507 or email dogshows@barayevents.com. LOSS OR DAMAGE The Show Committee will use due care and diligence for the welfare of dogs and exhibitors, but will not be responsible for, or assume any liability in the event of any accident or misfortune, to either dogs or exhibitors participating in these Shows. The welfare of an Exhibitor s child is assumed to be the responsibility of the Exhibitor. It is distinctly understood that Exhibitors will exercise control and restraint over their children on the day of the show. FAX ENTRIES Fax entries will be accepted up to closing time. Winners of the Veteran Classes, if undefeated, compete for Best of Breed) BEST OF BREED COMPETITION: The following categories of dogs may be entered and shown in Best of Breed Competition: Dogs that are Champions of Record and dogs that according to their owners records have completed the requirements for a Championship but whose Championships are unconfirmed. The showing of dogs whose Championships are unconfirmed is limited to a period of 90 days from the date of the show where a dog completed the requirements for a Championship according to the owner s records. Award of Merit The Regular Class Judge, may, at her discretion, present an Award of Merit Rosette to no more than five (5) Dogs and/or Bitches who have competed in the Best of Breed judging at this Specialty. Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex are not included in the five Awards. Non-Regular Classes (Involving Multiple Dog Entries) STUD DOG. For Stud Dogs and at least two and no more than four of their get. Stud Dogs must be entered in the Stud Dog Class and must be shown in the ring with their get. The owner of the Stud Dog need not necessarily be owner of the get. While the merits of the Stud Dog are not to be considered in the placement of the entry, the Stud Dog must be examined to determine if it has a condition that would require its disqualification or excusal under the Dog Show Rules, AKC policy, or the standard for the breed. Get must be entered in a regular class, Best of Breed competition or some other non-regular class. BROOD BITCH. Same as above except substitute Brood Bitch for Stud Dog and produce for get. BRACE CLASS (Two dogs, identical ownership). The dogs comprising a Brace MUST be named at the time of entry. If a dog which is to be a part of a Brace is not entered in another class, it must be entered for Brace Class Only. Full particulars must be given for each dog on individual regular entry forms. An entry form for a dog entered in another class and part of a Brace must be marked accordingly in the space provided for additional classes - Brace Class. If more than one Brace is entered by the same owner, the dogs comprising EACH BRACE must be so designated Brace #1, Brace #2", etc. The price for this class (as a unit) is $15.00, in addition to any other fees paid for the individual dogs. TEAM CLASS. Same as Brace, except it will be for four dogs. The price for this class (as a unit) is $15.00. NOTE: As the judge s decision in the Stud Dog, Brood Bitch, Brace and Team Class is based on the merits of more than one dog/bitch, not one of the dogs/bitches making up the entry judged first in these classes will be eligible to compete for Best of Breed by virtue of having won this class. OBEDIENCE CLASSIFICATION Regular Classes: Novice Class A Novice Class B Open Class A Open Class B Refer to the AKC Obedience Regulations for a complete definition of these obedience class. No refund will be given for bitches that come into season after entries close. SWEEPSTAKES The Sweepstakes is open to all Borzoi who are at least 6 months of age and under 18 months of age at the time of the Specialty. All dogs entered in a Sweepstakes class must also be entered in a Regular Class or for Best of Breed Competition at this Specialty, at the regular entry fee.
