BST REQUIREMENTS: The BST is designed to select those Rottweilers that are worthy of being bred. The dog s confirmation must be judged or breeding quality and free of disqualifying faults. The dog must have a valid OFA or GDC number or a rating of HD-or HD+/- and have a tattoo for identification. Once the confirmation and soundness qualifications have been met, the dogs temperament is tested. This test includes a gun sureness test, a protection test, and a test to ensure the dog is stable around the public. The USRC strongly believes that these tests are vital to maintain the Rottweiler in type and in temperament. Owner and handler must be members of the USRC Dog must be registered with the USRC on he closing of entry Dog must be at least 18 months of age Dog must have a tattoo Dog must have a BH title Dog must have a weight certificate from a Vet within 30 days of test date Dog must have a hip certificate from OFA, GDC or a recognized FCI country. Owner MUST bring these original documents to the BST: Original USRC Membership Cards for both owner and handler Original USRC Registration for the dog being entered Official Scorebook showing titles earned (minimum of BH), scorebook number and full name of dog Document showing prior BST attempts, if any Original USRC recognized Hip Certification Original veterinarian s weight certificate dated within 30 days of test date BST PROCEDURE: Dog will be measured and must show correct dentition Dog must walk on loose lead through a crowd of people Two gun shots will be fired from 15 to 20 ft. away to note the dog s reaction Attack on handler Out on command Courage test Out on command For more detailed info: http://www.usrconline.org/breedtestroutines.htm
