Getting to Know Your Club Officers Board Members Directors Cindy Miller Hello, I m Cindy Miller, your new President. I want to thank all of you for your willingness to volunteer. I feel so much more comfortable in my new role because your willingness to volunteer is what makes our club so successful. I am so proud to be the President of a truly first class Dog Club. I think it is important that you know the people behind the scenes that keep this club moving and I m starting with myself! My husband, Rick, and I have been breeding Brittanys since 1985 under the kennel name Brookewood. Our first Brittany came to us from the Humane Society and we immediately fell in love with Brooke (Hence our Kennel name). We love Brittanys for their versatility and dual purpose (show and field). Consequently, our dogs, which are all show champions, also hunt pheasant and grouse in the fall. Our dogs have earned hunting, obedience, show, rally, coursing, tracking and agility titles. I am proud to have bred multiple dogs in the Top 10 Breed Rankings and had the number 1 Brittany in breed points in 2013. I have won the American Brittany Club Top 20 People s Choice Award. My obvious love of dog sports and activities have caused me to be involved in many ways in the dog world. I am an active member of the American Brittany Club Judges Education committee and taught seminars at the University of Indiana PA Dog Show Judges Institute, The Mason Dixon Judges Institute, The AKC Sporting Dog Institute (Lancaster, PA), the ABC Summer Specialty (Maine and Michigan) and the AKC Judges Institute at Orlando. I represented the American Kennel Club on Governor Rendall s Dog Law Advisory Board. (2006-2010). I steward at conformation shows approximately one weekend a month. I am an AKC Delegate (21 years and counting) and currently serve as chair on the Dog Show Rules Committee. I am a strong supporter of therapy dog work and volunteer weekly at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center with my therapy dogs. I am inviting everyone to send me an email (cam44@comcast.net). I would like to know what we are doing right and your suggestions for future events/classes. I am also interested in your complaints and concerns. However, I am asking that you include two solutions that s the hard part!! I am also asking that you email me if you would like to volunteer to be on a committee or help out in any way. Our committee chairs can t personally call every member! So, if you want to be a part of a committee, please volunteer and I will let them know!! I am really looking forward to working with you this year. Let s make it a team activity! KC and Cindy Best of Winners at the American Brittany Club 2014 Summer Specialty in Oklahoma City!

Discussion on bite incident during the trial -a person got bit. Sharon was concerned because she heard from folks at trial that everyone talked about bite incident but no one did anything. All members should know it s their responsibility that form needs to be filled out. Cindy asked Sharon to write something up for Barker to remind everyone where paperwork is and procedures. Cindy stated that this was an event location and we should ve completed AKC s form and had a hearing. That needed to be done and filed. Sue McKee told Sharon Leh that a member contacted her about renewing her membership. She wanted to go to the club to attend Vicki McCloud s class. Karen Wiley has a business card in Barker which Jen Tetkoskie will take out of Barker as we haven t received payment. Old Business No old business New Business: Scent Work Seminar: Profit from December Seminar was $290.00 Action Item: Scent Work Mini Session or Class A club member was concerned the club having a scentwork trial but not having any classes. It was discussed to also hold a Mini session on March 4, 11 18 & 25 with Joan Klingler. Joan would bring her own scents but we would have to buy or bring the boxes, shoe boxes, egg cartons, etc. Jane Frantz will check with Joan to see if she is available. Would have to do a flyer that would go out to all members and go in the Barker. Would like to have a class at DDTC in the future. Motion made by John Delescavage and seconded by Jen Tetkoskie and motion carried. Action Item: Approval of June s No Frills Obedience Trial on Friday Planning on having a No Frills Obedience Trial on Friday in June 2019. We decided not to have a match the Thursday night before. Sue Silverman and Toni Lugosky are the co-chairs for the trial. Volunteer Position: (which includes the Sunshine duties) - Glenna Felty volunteered for the position.
