We are planning to send over another lot of spectacles before Christmas. Special thanks to Lion Bob Georgeson for bringing their needs to our clubs attention. We have had an increase in our membership by four this financial year and currently have another 2 3 quality queries. A much needed boost and I welcome those new members into the Club

We, along with the Lioness Club in a joint project have supplied a Talking Bar Code Scanner for Mrs Susan Gould who is visually impaired. Lastly I would like to thank all members for their continued support of myself and the time they have put into all our club activities. Special thanks to Jill and Brian for their extra dedication and time. I look forward to another year as President in 2011-2012 and the backing of all members of the club. It is looking like it will be a busy time ahead again. Lioness President 2010-11 Maree Walker This year our club has lost three members and I would like to acknowledge the work done whilst they were part of our club by those members Leah Milikins, Daphne Hogan and Theresa Smith. I would like to thank all members of the outgoing committee for the time and assistance they have given throughout the year. To the incoming committee members I wish them a successful year. On behalf of our club, I would like to thank our Sponsor Club, the Lions Club of Strathfieldsaye for giving us the freedom and support to help our community in our own chosen way. Our major fundraisers for the year were a movie night, a very successful Trivia Night and a Christmas Hamper raffle. My thanks go to each Lioness who put in many hours for these fundraisers. The members each prepared a shoebox full of goodies, 21 boxes were donated to be distributed by Samaritans Purse. Each Lioness also did a letterbox drop of Righteous Pups flyers. We continue to collect corks for Motor Neurone, we are currently collecting for our 3 rd wheelchair. Thanks to all who collect and weigh them but especially to Lioness Elaine who coordinates this project. Our club joined with our Sponsor Club for the visit of our DG Graeme Lukey. We continued our monthly social meetings that provided lots of variety and fellowship. Some included 10 pin bowling, a lawn bowls night, a girls night in, Christmas dinner, line dancing and a DVD night where we had the privilege of viewing the preview of, Millions Against Malaria. I would like to thank all our Lionesses for their help and support during committee and look forward to supporting them in their respective roles as I am sure all Lionesses will. to supporting them in their respective roles as I am sure all Lionesses will.sponsor club, catered for and drove the ladies to the Legacy Lunchon. year and their positive attitude. Our Righteous Pup Dennis Dennis, the Lions V1-4 Autism Assistance Dog in Training, has received donations from V1-4 clubs to a total of $7934.26. These funds have been used for Dennis training fees, healthcare and a few extra toys just so he knows he is loved. The Lions Club of Heidelberg-Warringal have partnered with a local family in their community to raise in excess of $29,000 for Marcos dog. The additional funds of $4095.00 will be reallocated to Dennis total, making an overall total for Dennis of $12,029.26. Dennis is due to graduate in August 2011, and will be placed with a child within the V1-4 Lions District. Any club who wishes a visit from Dennis will need to contact bakerj@righteouspups.org.au or ph. 0439 618 706 prior to August. Any other dog in training will still be available after August for a club visit. We are half-way through a District commitment to support Righteous Pups for 3 years, and with club disbursements for the 2010-2011 year coming up, please give a thought to supporting this project. Bendigo and Strathfieldsaye Lions Clubs sponsored a successful motion to Lions District V1-4 at its convention in October 2009. This motion was that Lions should assist the Righteous Pups Organization. Righteous Pups supports the training of Austistic Assistance Dogs. Very soon the pups are moving their base to a new property, by the end of August, and will need a lot of assistance from locals and Lions with concreting, fencing, re-furbishing buildings etc., once council permits are obtained. Lioness Club Members Dennis is one of a litter of 7 pups, bought at a cost of $1500 each.
