Uvod Priročnik za uporabo celostne grafične podobe Univerze v Mariboru je dokument, ki določa uporabo elementov CGP UM. V prvem delu priročnika so prikazani osnovni elementi celostne grafične podobe Univerze v Mariboru. Prikazan je znak, razložena je njegova konstrukcija in pravilna uporaba. Definirani sta tudi tipografiji in barvni sistem. V drugem delu so določeni vsi grafični elementi, celostne grafične podobe na dokumentih (tiskovinah). V nadaljevanju so prikazani številni primeri aplikacije grafičnih elementov CGP UM. 5
